(the road test in this county can be tough) After each lesson, the instructors took the time to explain to me what my child needed to practice and focus on Their flexibility and availability was key for us and proved invaluable. We got a phone call after the road test checking in (that in my opinion is great over the top service) Needless to say, my daughter passed with a perfect score on the road test. As long as my daughter is happy, I will leave it alone. I suggested a new instructor but my daughter doesn't want one... let's see how this goes...... First impression. I arrive 15 minutes early for my first appointment. My daughter's instructor arrives 15 minutes late, pulls in the driveway and beeps the horn to summon us. She doesn't get out to introduce herself, there was no prior notification of her being late, and she has an attitude. The instructor drives off after my daughter enters the car and says she'll be back at 1pm. The facility has no waiting room or chairs. Luckily there is one metal bench my daughter and I shared while we waited. Unprofessional is a great way to describe my first experience. For the amount of money I paid to send my daughter to this school, solely based on reviews, I am highly disappointed. I can only hope the rest of the sessions go better since I purchased a package.

They stood out with positive reviews, innovative program approach, and the dedication of the instructor Mike, who seemed incredibly educated and experienced in working with people facing different types of challenges. When I initially started at Shift Above 2, my confidence level was basically zero due to frustrating and unsuccessful attempts at learning prior. After giving Mike background on my previous experiences and how i was now feeling about learning, he immediately established a comfortable learning environment by ensuring that the pace of the lessons were entirely dictated by my comfort level. In those first few sessions, I really appreciated that he was highly perceptive. ​Whenever I struggled with a maneuver or began to show signs of distress, he didn't push me. Instead, he would alter the current technique or introduce a different approach that was much better suited to my skill and confidence level. This adaptive teaching style was fundamental in preventing old feelings of frustration from resurfacing. Soon after, I found myself driving confidently in moderate traffic on main roads and performing K-turns and backing up with very little nervousness. My goal in the coming months is to prepare to pass my state road test with Mike's continued training.
