"Dooo the Puyallup!" Spring Fair version! Over the years this Fair has gotten bigger and better! I almost love it more than the big fall Washington State Fair! Almost.... Locals call the two fairs: The Puyallup (in the fall) and The Spring Fair - but both are officially the Washington State Fair and Spring Fair in case you're looking for other Yelp reviews or googling for more info. The Spring Fair has all the basics of the Puyallup Fair: BBQ, Music, Crafts shows, flowers and topiary contests, animals, rides, home goods vendors and tons of food! The main difference between the two fairs is size. The Spring Fair is smaller- about half the size of the Puyallup with most of the far left barns, sheds and rides areas fenced off. The animals at the Spring Fair tend to be a lot younger too (hey, it's Spring!) So there are lots of babies in the barns and they are sooo cute! My favorites were the Pygmy goats- it was so much fun to stand there and watch them! The new babies had so much spunk and energy running and prancing all over the pens. Back and forth, up and down, back and forth, etc. Adorable! Foodie tip: come early and come hungry! The food lines are shorter earlier in the day for sure. Lots of food to be found but most are upfront and on the food stand row along side the grandstand. All your favorites are here: State Fair Family corndogs and onion burgers, Kaleenka Piroshky, Fisher Scones, Spuds Fish and Chips, etc. Newer booths in recent years like Branks BBQ and Paella are welcome additions! The Spring Fair is open late now too- yay! I so love those warm nights walking around the fairgrounds! The sights, the sounds, all the good food smells- it all seems so much more intense at night and brings back happy childhood memories of the Fair. Tickets: it's definitely worth checking out the Fair website for specials like Military Honor day when current service members and veterans tickets are complimentary. Grocery stores in the area Safeway and Albertsons also have discounted tickets and ride pass coupons- but the deals change some years so double check the website for the current info when you go.

The Spring Fair is a downsized version of the fall fair, perhaps better for families, with the cooler weather, less walking, and theoretically at least, fewer people. It's also cheaper, for rides and admission, and unlike the fall fair, parking is even free. However, there are fewer animals, fewer rides, fewer food vendors, and fewer things to see & do. The rides especially seem to have longer lines, which could be a function of fewer of them to choose from. There were also none of the grandstand shows which can be great or awful, depending on your perspective. The kiddie rides take up the stage area. Buy your tickets from Safeway or Fred Meyer before you go. This gets you a good discount on the tickets themselves, and also the ability to buy much-discounted ride tickets. Rides are still $2 each with the discount... they are more like $3-5 each if you buy regular tickets. OUCH! Overall, I still prefer the fair up in Monroe for better size, more reasonable crowds, and better rides. And I loved the King County Fair in Enumclaw a few years ago; it was way more about the kids and their animals, with classic rides but not too many of them. It was of a wonderful old-fashioned scale and I loved it.

The spring fair is fun for kids all ages. Animals, games, rides and fatty greasy fair food. We had a morning full of fun... But I'm still not sure it was worth $110 dollars! 20.00 (2 adult tickets) 50.00 (120 tickets for rides and games) 20.00 (2 Krusty pops, curly fries and a burger) 3.00 popcorn 7.00 elephant ears 6.50 bag of cotton candy 2.00 bird whistles.. Other tips: Parking is free, come in right when they open (10am), there's not as many ppl. For rides and most height requirement for toddler rides is 36".

Went here for my first time ever today and it was fun. This is a cute little fair with lots of things to do and lots of foods to eat. I liked the animals in the barns and the food. I wish I had taken a pic of the cinnamon elephant ear we had or my funnel cake...but I ate them too fast!

Been coming here for years now. To me this place never changes. New prizes and new workers, but the environment and the way things are ran doesn't change a bit. The food is still how I remember it, sometimes they give it to you how you want it and it is just way over priced. All and all I pretty much do this for my children because I want them to have those fun memories that I had when I was a kid.

Here at the Spring fair bird watching.

Probably because it is kind of hidden all the way back in the park. Wooden coasters are designed to be shaky and give that going off the rails feeling. It's sad that this one is a lot smoother than the steel one because those are supposed to be much smoother. Some tips. As with any coaster, the best seats are usually all the way in the back where you can feel the full G forces when you go down drops and sharp turns. For this ride, you are not allowed to ride it without shoes. No, there is no camera that takes your pic for you to purchase. There is a small shack at the exit that wasn't open so I assume that would of been it. There are no storage bins to put your loose articles in like glasses, hats, etc. You can just put on the ground next to the wall and pick it up as soon as you get off the ride. Minimum height requirement is 48 inches. Overall, The price of admission is not worth it for the whole park. Even if you chose to swim the water park part of it, I think it is still overpriced for most of the park is not maintained properly. Refer to my Wild Waves theme park review. I salute you Timber Hawk! You are the only great ride worth mentioning for the ride part of the park. Yelp 2015 Review #45 545 overall

First impression and immediate note in my head is that this place is freakin' spendy. For the three of my kids, plus grippy socks (didn't realize that was a requirement) it was $93. Most play places are definitely not that steep. That aside, we had a great time here. My kids loved it! There's so much to do. There's an arcade, a climbing wall, multiple bounce houses, and a giant play structure with fun slides. Plus a smaller play structure for toddlers! We were here for almost two hours and they were so tired when we left (the whole point!) Also, LOVE that they have the Watering Hole here for adults! We treated ourselves to a couple of drinks while the kids had a blast. You're able to walk around with the drinks too which is awesome. The selection is kind of limited and the wine wasn't my favorite (switched to a local IPA after that) but it is a fun added bonus for the parents. We also got a cheese pizza while here and that was a little expensive too ($25) but it was actually pretty huge and it actually was pretty tasty. Kids were definitely happy with it. We plan on booking this spot for our son's 3rd birthday party in May and honestly the prices aren't too bad for how many kids they allow and everything they supply. Definitely adding this spot into our rainy day rotation!
