This trail is near my home. It's a great trail for walking or biking. You can walk down to the river. This trail goes all the way down to Enumclaw or Buckley. Lots of beautiful scenery, flowers in bloom and majestic views of Mt Rainier. I have yet to do the full trail. I will as soon as I get my Ebike LOL! I often walk this trail to walk Havanna my grandfur baby. It's always enjoyable.

On the last outing Steve and I (as well as a…read morefriend) went from the McMillin Trailhead to the East Puyallup Trailhead which was about 4 miles one way. To avoid a very long walk we parked one car at the East Puyallup Trailhead and began our walk in by parking with our other car at the McMillan Trailhead. The walk was very enjoyable and the summer day we chose couldn't have been perfect with warm but mild temperatures. More forested scenery to enjoy as you walk between these two trailheads as opposed to going the opposite way to Orting. I am eager to tackle more chunks of this trail but have held off due to other summer time activities and we also learned that parts of the trail would be closed for maintenance for a part of the summer due to needed improvements so we are holding off to continue more pieces of the trail until Autumn where we hope these closures have expired and the maintenance is finished.

Parking here is easy and there's 2 different lots with a lot of spaces. The slides can be slippery i've seen babies go down and hit their heads or kids who are wearing certain kinds of material that make them slide insanely fast so definitely keep this in mind if you have babies/toddlers. Public restrooms here as well that are always clean and neat the times i've been. All in all - my family and I love coming to this awesome park!

Geese were laying in the field, the lake was quiet, kids and their parents were playing in the playground, and people were sitting out in the pergola with picnic benches, enjoying the last days of summer. We walked the loop and the dogs go to sniff and pee to their hearts' content. The only reason why they lost a star ws because of the large amount of goose poop and the kids screaming in the playground kinda got to me, which is not the park's fault, but it's also part of my experience, so know that if you want to visit.

I entered into this park by going around…read morethe field at Heritage Rec Center but there is a south entrance for this trailed park as well. I was thinking of taking my scooter to run this trail but decided to walk... which was a good decision even towards the end when it started sleeting and raining. I didn't want to put my scooter through that. This trail takes you through a wooded area and during the fall it's beautiful. Granted I was here in late fall but still really liked it. I imagine it's beautiful all year round. There were squirrels that I spotted and they seemed friendly and even a few painted rocks that were hidden. I haven't seen this many since Tacoma's heyday with the painted rocks craze but it's alive and well in Puyallup despite Tacoma burning itself out on it. There are several memorial benches and regular ones you can rest at. There's also a playground on the south end of the trailed park I had a great outing on this trail, definitely recommend it.

Even though the weather didn't agree with us, we still had an enjoyable time. We purchased our tickets online a few days ahead because you get a better price that way. Each ticket is good for two separate rides. We arrived just after 10 in the morning and it was grey and overcast. The sky was very cloudy and there was a foggy mist over the mountains. It was lovely but not the best weather for sight seeing. We went ahead and rode up the mountain and back and it was fun but as you can guess the views weren't great from the gondola. About half the ride it was just like being inside frosted glass and all we could see was grey. We stayed at the top for a while but the winds were to fierce for our pup so we headed back down and spent some time eating, shopping and enjoying the area. We were hoping the weather would clear up later in the afternoon. Unfortunately for us, Mother Nature had other plans and it was cool, foggy and totally overcast all day. I wasn't even really that disappointed though because it was just so beautiful being there. It was honestly my favorite kind of weather. On our second ride, we did try riding the famous "Green Gondola". We had seen other people waiting for it on our earlier ride and asked a staff member what it was all about. They said it was just a replacement gondola so it didn't match the others exactly and we kind of laughed at how silly it is but people love things that are unique. There was no line, so we gave it a go and I'm here to tell you that it didn't part the clouds and I haven't won the lottery since riding it :) Sorry to say it is just like the red ones. Even with the weather, we made a really nice day of it and if you haven't seen this area, I would definitely recommend giving the gondola a try. I think next time we will probably risk the higher prices at the gate to make sure the weather is cooperating for the ride.

She hates when other dogs sniff her butt LOL! Or anywhere on her body. She is definitely finicky. There is a playground and swing for children. There are picnic chairs and a pavilion available for private parties. There is also a community park and center with an auditorium for community events. There are times we grab some Out and About burgers which is close by and eat at a picnic table prior to walking Havanna. The park is well maintained and clean. It's conveniently located and within 10mins from my home.
