I dream about this place…read more Our second year coming in late September for a city escape, Flossie's came highly recommended by my buddy who visits often. I'm sad to say that I don't remember what we got last year, just that we loved it. So of course, we had to repeat again this year! And oh man, it did not disappoint. I didn't want to eat with my toddler because I did NOT want to share. I gave him a few fries because he could smell them but there was no chance he was going to touch my sandwich. Hubby got the Texan brisket (special and the last one!) and I got the chicken pesto panini. My wonderful husband offered to do splitsies and ... well, he only got a couple bites. Sadly, because of said toddler and infant in tow, we couldn't eat it there when the fries were fresh so they were a tad sad when we finally sat to eat them. No dock on Flossie's - that's our fault. I'm certain they would have been amazing fresh! All of this to say....if you're in the area or planning a visit, make sure you stop by. You won't be disappointed. Unless they're closed...that's why you need to plan your schedule around their opening hours. A second location is opening in Belleville ... kudos to Flossie's for making their dreams happen! Sorry for not taking a picture of our sandwiches. Like I said, I couldn't wait. It was very much a GET IN MY BELLY moment.

First things first, their menu is mostly pictures so it would be good to ask about ingredients if you have any food intolerances. There may also be off menu items so feel free to ask their pleasant staff. Most of the items don't have prices but it's generally around $20 pretax. It's a bit pricier than expected but the food and environment makes up for it. We tried a few of their sandwiches and they were all juicy and flavourful in their own way. It's all packed with a healthy combination of high quality ingredients. The burger was cooked to a nice juicy medium rare, and the sandwich breads were toasted perfectly. You have the choice of the usual sides, but the coleslaw definitely stands out with a creamy and sweet but well balanced profile. The outdoor seating is an absolute boon for a spring/summer PEC visit. Enjoy the shade and the gentle breeze as you bite into your juicy sandwich!

On a trip in PEC with friends we stopped at this small diner in Wellington. We were originally here…read morefor breakfast however; it stops after 11 am. The diner has a cool 50s themes. They had records pasted all over the walls and a jukebox which unfortunately didn't work. Our server was super nice and very attentive. My girlfriend ordered the bacon grilled cheese and a poutine with shredded cheese. They also offered curds at an additional cost. She found the poutine flavorful even with the shredded cheese. The gravy was the highlight. The grilled cheese was just okay the bacon wasn't that crispy, and the bread was a little thick. I ordered the Calzone. It was stuffed with cheese, sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms with a side of marinara. Our server asked if I wanted it in garlic butter and I said sure! It was a great choice as when it was delivered it smelt like fresh garlic bread. The whole table was commenting on how great the smell of it. I ended up sharing my garlic bread bow that came on the side. The calzone was fantastic. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft and doughy on the inside. The filling was great. The sausage had good flavor and the cheese had a good pull. The marinara was great for dipping. It was definitely one of the better calzones I've had and a surprise coming from a small-town diner. I highly recommend Rock N Rogers for an inexpensive option in the town of Wellington. It's a cool little spot and the pizza is top notch. The group I was with also enjoy their food and the price!

Unfortunately, the…read moreowner's behavior completely overshadowed the food, and after giving her three chances, I won't spend my money there again. On our first visit, my 87-year-old father casually mentioned that he hadn't known the place existed. The owner responded by yelling at him about how long the business has been open and listing other places she owns, leaving him feeling embarrassed and ignorant. The final straw happened during my most recent visit. I flew in from Las Vegas and wanted to take my parents, both in their 80s, to get sandwiches. Standing for long periods is difficult for them, so they sat briefly in the dining area while I ordered. They were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. They were immediately yelled at and told they could not sit there unless they ordered from the dinner menu. My father politely explained that we were ordering sandwiches and that his daughter had just flown in. The owner said it didn't matter--if we weren't ordering off the dinner menu, we had to leave. As a result, we were forced to eat in our car in the middle of winter. Great food does not excuse disrespectful, unkind treatment--especially toward elderly customers. The lack of compassion was shocking, and I will not return.
