On a boiling hot day in the PEC, the power went out but dinner was saved. The pizza was delicious. Seriously delicious.

$25 for three one-once tastings of mediocre wine is absurd and is taking advantage of people. Great…read morepizza, but a total miss for me. Skip this place unless you don't mind ridiculous tasting fees. I have tasted wine all over the world at some of the finest wineries, including small boutique producers and have never paid this price. The only reason I tasted here is that I was dumb enough not to look at the prices and too embarrassed to back out once the tasting started. There are other small wineries in PEC that produce better quality wines that don't have that homemade backyard taste and they charge $3-5 for an ounce tasting.

Discovered this winery on at Saturday afternoon after reading about it on Google. The reviews…read moremostly raved about the friendly owner, service and pizza. We arrived at 12 pm and there was roughly a line of five people ahead of us and heaps of people leaving the store with pizza boxes. The parking lot was busy. While in line, we met the owner Anthony. Based on our conversation, one could tell that he is passionate about what he does and enjoys it. He spoke of his training in Italy and that he is one of the few Pizzaiolo in Canada. After hearing this, we ordered a bottle of white wine (Vidal) and a calabrese pizza. Their patio was full and the owner set up a table with his chairs from Tuscany by the entrance/exit to the kitchen. He said that when the restaurant is sometimes full, he used to bring out his own furniture. The pizza was phenomenal. Anthony said that he wakes up at 5 am to start on the dough, but was unable to share his secrets on how great the dough was. It had more of a phyllo texture and the meat was delicious. Overall, we very much enjoyed our experience learning about the history.

This a good old school pizza joint. The dough is slightly thicker than most franchised pizza…read moreplaces, but perfect for the 4 toppings we selected. Cheese is placed on top, and seems to hold everything in place. On this visit, we walked in and there a few people ahead of us. We ordered and were told it'll take about 20 mins. While there were a couple seats inside, we waited outside. The pizza was ready in 20 mins and we absolutely loved it. We ordered a large, 4 topping (sausage, onion, mushrooms and tomatoes) and it was @ $29. Bring cash because that's all they take. The pizza had a lot of flavour and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We'd absolutely be back and despite what some other reviews say, I'm sure you'll enjoy it too.

So the pizza was good, very cheesy. They put the cheese on top of the toppings instead of the other way around, which is fine, but does tend to cause the cheese layer to slide off. So eat carefully! Can't really complain, everything was fine. Other than it was pretty expensive at over $20 for a medium 2-topping... but that appears to be the going rate in town. Service was fine, on-time, and friendly. At the time, they were taking CASH only though.

Highly recommend this place to start your first wine tasting stop at PEC. We dropped by to share…read moresome light bites of pizza and salad. Recent pricing is $12, and you get to taste four wines, and if it's not too busy like the day we went, the staff allowed us to taste a couple more. We sampled all 6. Outside seating only and underneath shaded gazebos or in the sun. It can get windy so prepare a jacket if you're in the shade. The stone oven pizza, salad and staff were fantastic. Most staff there are seasonal student workers. I personally love the John Bil wine, a blend of dry riesling and chardonnay. They also credit your wine tasting if you buy $20 of wine. On your wine purchase, they give you a handy reusable wine tote bag with divided interior spacing to hold up to 6 wines. Perfect for when we go on LCBO runs to refill our small wine stash or purchase from the next winery

She answered all of our questions in detail about each of the wines. We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting with her. We then stopped by the restaurant and ordered oysters, paired with a glass of Norman Hardie white wine. The oysters are imported 3 days a week from PEI. The oysters were medium sized and tasted very fresh. The restaurant had plenty of outside seating (and is dog friendly!), with a rustic feel to it. The winery itself was beautiful. We loved our time at Norman Hardie and would definitely recommend it!

It's a really lovely space as it uses what may be an old barn (but refurbished) and there's a very large event space upstairs, and downstairs is where you'll meet customer service and the wine selection. They have a great outdoor seating area and a really nice outdoor space with a mini creek running through it. I'm not sure if they specialize in Gamays or not, but they have a few. My wife really enjoys the Chardonnay - specifically the one aged in the steel barrel. Naturally you'd probably do a tasting before purchasing here, but regardless I'd recommend it as you can get quite different tastes even from the same type of wine depending on the vintage, barrel and other factors. They have a few sweets you can pick up and they also have a stone wood-fired oven for pizza. Lovely spot all around with some great wine - and pizza, makes this a can't-miss stop on any PEC wine tour.
