The attic didn't have any infestations, but they carefully identified potential entry points and blocked them off to help prevent future problems. In the crawlspace, they completely removed all the trash and animal remnants, including droppings, then sanitized the area with a lemon deodorizer and bacteria-killing treatment. They also fully replaced the mesh lining on the vents surrounding the house, including both the crawlspace and attic vents. Within a couple of days, the flies were gone and the lingering smell had cleared up. What I appreciated most was that Leo was responsive, straightforward, and willing to fully address an unpleasant problem rather than just putting a temporary band-aid on it. After discovering some of my duct connections were wrapped in asbestos, a specialized asbestos abatement company was hired to remove the asbestos & everything in contact with it. After that was completed, Insulation Labs was hired to: Remove all of the old blown-in insulation (with a giant vacuum); sanitize the attic; Air Seal any openings into the attic including any electrical wiring or fixtures (ceiling lights, attic fans & plumbing/HVAC pipes or runs). Also included was Rodent Exclusion (performed by a pest control company) - sealing up any places that allowed entrance or exit into or out of the attic. And finally, Installing R38 roll-in fiberglass insulation (cut to fit inside of the rafters). The entire crew (up to 6 or 8 individuals) were AWESOME! Especially Victor & Domingo! I hired Insulation Labs to do drill-and-fill insulation, which involves drilling holes in existing…read morewalls and filling the cavities with insulation. The work included the exterior wall along my primary bedroom and children's bedroom, plus an interior wall between the garage and my children's bedroom. Both bedrooms get a lot of afternoon sun and are consistently warm. The first crew spent a full day drilling holes, adding insulation, and patching the walls. Before leaving, they told me everything had gone great. Unfortunately, photos I took with a thermal camera suggested that more than half of the areas had not been properly filled. You could even feel the temperature difference by touching the insulated sections versus the areas that appeared to have been skipped. I contacted the company, sent photos, and was told someone would come out to investigate and resolve the issue ASAP. Instead, about a week passed with little communication. Once I started following up, I felt like I was being passed around. They even sent the sales representative back out, and he said he wasn't sure why he had been sent. Eventually, project manager Julio arranged for another crew to come out the following week. When that crew arrived, they quickly realized the work was more extensive than they had been told. I wanted the affected walls redone so I could be confident the insulation was installed correctly. Julio initially told me it could be another month before they could return--even though a month had already passed since the original installation. I told him that wasn't acceptable, but that I would be flexible to help get the job completed. Shortly afterward, he called back to say there had been a cancellation and that he would send his best team. Victor and Carlos arrived the next day, and they deserve a lot of credit. After drilling additional holes, they confirmed what I had suspected: the original crew had left some wall cavities completely empty. Victor and Carlos filled the walls properly, did excellent patchwork, and thoroughly cleaned up. Their workmanship and attention to detail were far better than what I experienced with the first crew. They clearly took pride in their work, and it showed. Now that the work is complete, the insulation is making a noticeable difference. The bedrooms are cooler, and I'm seeing wall temperatures approximately 15-20 degrees lower than before. Overall, I'm happy with the final result, but getting there took far more time and follow-up than it should have. Victor and Carlos turned the experience around. I would recommend drill-and-fill insulation for exterior walls, but I would also recommend investing in an inexpensive thermal camera--I found one on Amazon for about $80--to help check the work afterward.

We were new homeowners and had only moved in for less than a month when our AC unit went out. He immediately insisted (more like demanded) that we needed new ducts as well as a new system. When I told him that we wanted a unit with a higher SEER rating for energy efficiency and lower electric bills, he dismissed my suggestion as if I was stupid for even asking about it. My guess is that they have some sort of deal with Goodman, because that is the brand that they forced on us. What was the grand total you ask? Over $20,000. And that was 8 years ago! Not only did they NOT replace all of the ducts (like they said they would) their installation was the most Mickey Mouse-looking trash I have ever seen. They must have put at least 5 pounds of mastic tape around the unit to try and seal it up and it still leaked cold air after a week of use. These are scam artists masquerading as professionals. Even after that ordeal was over, they would call us constantly, year after year, telling us we needed to pay for a tech to come out and service our system. Besides hosing off our compressor unit with our own garden hose, the only thing their tech ever did was aggressively try to sell us on more services. They never once opened up the unit to clean the coils. They never once topped off the coolant. They never even cleaned out the condensate pipe. 8 years later and I am paying the price with outrageous cooling bills, a leaky unit that is more mastic than air conditioner, and a clogged condensate line that I had to clean out myself (it took about 5 minutes once I had the right tool). Do not let these people into your home. There is a reason that you see so many one-star reviews among the four and five-star ones. Do not disregard those reviews (they are real people). This company will take advantage of anybody who is not particularly knowledgeable about HVAC. They are pushy and rude; they will try to sell you products and services that you do not need. They will continue to harass you with phone calls for years afterwards. Stay away. Stay far, far away.
