I asked for a garage full of stuff to be taken away and was given a price of $884. Seemed a bit high but agreed just to get rid of the stuff. I next asked what the cost would be to remove a large TV from my basement as well as clear out a shed. I was told that would be an additional $550. Again, seemed high but I agreed. The guys worked for about an hour and a half and I was told that they would return the next day to finish the job. I was not around on the second day but when I did return to the house, I noticed that everything from the previous day still remained in my garage and they had only removed the tv and two other items. I called in to someone named Nick who proceeded to tell me that they removed everything I was quoted for and that it would cost me another charge to remove the rest. So not only did the $884 cover what they told me it would, I was charged an additional $550 for a tv, old wooden wheel barrow, and a small shredder! What a scam. I stood there with one of the workers, Chad or Jason, and clearly explained and showed what needed to go and agreed to their price. Unfortunately for me, I paid them for everything on the first day so it was really easy to rip me off. I would caution anyone using this company to ask to see all of their photos before agreeing to anything. The people who come out to quote the work take pics and must send them in to their boss. They then use those pics to prove what they took. Never was I shown any photos but all I heard from Nick was that they took everything in the pics. So even though I said to take EVERYTHING as I showed these guys what I wanted done, the pics they took apparently only matched up to about 1/2 of the actual items. I guess it's a pretty good scam as long as you can get people paying up front. My bad for being such a sucker.

I have used Farragher's several times since we moved to the area in 2015 and have always had great…read moreservice from them and would have given 5 stars up until last week. When our range hood died, I immediately called Farragher's as I've had such good luck in the past. The owner himself came out to look at it and immediately said, "they don't make that part any more", went out to his truck, confirmed it wasn't made anymore and proceeded to tell me I owed him $72 for the service call. The problem was with a switch that senses when the hood is open - he immediately assumed it was bad, never opened the unit to see if it could be cleaned or look to see if there were any other options. We had a handyman friend come over to look at it, he took the cover panel off, tried cleaning it to no avail but immediately offered up a solution to "jumper" the switch to get it working for us. While I don't expect Farragher's to MacGyver the solution as our friend did, it would have been nice if he had actually made an attempt at fixing it. I could and should have pushed the issue but the tech was wearing a mask that was too big and kept sliding off his nose and didn't make an effort to keep his distance from me without me asking him to step back so I went ahead and let him leave. I really hope this was a one off issue and future visits will be up to their usual great service.

They came out and quoted me from between $300 to $1,000 depending on what they would have to do. I sent them packing. Based on a recommendation, I then called Simply Service. They had me watch the drain after flushing a toilet. They then told me it was the main line out of the house and not the laundry drain. So I called the county, since we are on a special sewar system, and they fixed the problem for free. Simply Service is now on my first call list. I highly recommend them.
