I would not recommend Countryside Animal Clinic…read more My elderly dog broke a tooth on Saturday. I found the piece on the ground myself, and by Tuesday she was eating less, so I took her in for a consultation. The reception staff, vet techs, and Dr. Hayden were all wonderful, and I had no issues with them. The problem happened the next day during the scheduled dental procedure with Dr. Kirstin Bloss. After speaking with the vet tech that morning and clarifying why my dog was there, I got a call afterward saying the procedure went well. When I asked how many teeth had been pulled, Dr. Bloss told me none. I reminded her the entire reason for the visit was my dog's broken tooth. Instead of taking accountability, she argued that the tooth looked old and said she had not been told that part, even though that was the reason for the visit. Her solution was to offer to put my 13-year-old dog back under anesthesia after she was already waking up. As an owner, I was not comfortable with that. What made this worse was the complete lack of empathy, accountability, and communication. When I called back because I felt this had not been handled appropriately, I was directed back to Dr. Bloss. She apologized for the "lack of communication," but showed no real concern and even asked why I had switched vets, then suggested I should have gone somewhere else. That was incredibly unprofessional. When I picked up my dog, I asked to speak with Dr. Mike Bloss. Instead of hearing out my concerns, he defended everything that had happened and told me he saw nothing wrong with how I had been spoken to. He said they could have safely put my dog back under based on her bloodwork, but that was never properly explained to me beforehand. He also said removing the tooth may have been worse than leaving it in, which again was never communicated during the consultation. When I asked why none of this had been clearly explained from the start, I was basically told they were not going to make me happy. What disturbed me most was the tone and attitude I was met with when I tried to calmly address a valid concern about my dog's care. I was respectful the entire time. I did not curse, name-call, or act aggressively. I simply wanted answers about why the procedure I brought my dog in for was not done. Instead, I was met with defensiveness, dismissal, and behavior that made me feel very uncomfortable. Based on this experience, I would not trust Dr. Kirstin Bloss or Dr. Mike Bloss with my pets. The lack of professionalism, poor communication, and complete absence of empathy toward a concerned pet owner was extremely upsetting.

Dr. Hayden did a complete health check and gave Ellie Top Notch Care and Ellie took it extremely well and did not get upset being handled by Dr. Naylor and her assistant. I highly recommend taking your beloved dog or cat to see Dr. Naylor. I felt that she actually cared and felt vert sympathetic to my situation. Thank you so very much for your amazing professionalism Dr. Hayden Naylor

We have boarded our dogs here for over ten years and have nothing but great things to say about…read morethem. Our dogs always are happy to go and are happy and healthy when we pick them up. Almost every time we have boarded our dogs elsewhere they do not seem happy when we pick them up and frequently are sick with kennel cough or diarrhea. The couple who own the business have been doing this work for decades and everyone who works for them seem to love their job. The setting is beautiful and serene too, as important for dogs as it is for people.

We called our vet in California who obviously had dropped the ball administratively and didn't record it. So we called HH back and they informed us that we could get the oral vaccine from a vet, administer it ourselves, then send them the receipt and we'd be OK. So, we called a local vet in Ozark, they mixed up the dose for us, and we administered it at home as instructed. Then we sent them the receipt. We got a call back and were told that AFTER they had told us to do this, they called their in-house vet who told them that it had to be administered by a vet, and not only that - they were cancelling our reservations for BOTH dogs! When I protested that we did it the way were instructed, they hung up on us. UNBELIEVABLE. I will never, ever, ever bring these people business again and would NEVER recommend them. Our dog has now been dosed twice because of a vet screw up and now their screw up and getting our dog boarded in the future will be a nightmare. We are reporting them to the Missouri Dept of Agriculture Animal Health Division. Did they follow rules? yes they did... but only AFTER they gave us really bad advice and their response to their screw up is to say 'we are cancelling your reservation'! They should know better after being in business this long that they gave us incredibly unethical and possibly illegal advice.
