We had been there previously with them, and then during our recent weekend stay in the Berkshires, we actually visited SoCo THREE times!!!! Yes, we went there every day because it's that good. SoCo has so many unusual flavors like Butter Cake, lemon poppy, and blueberry honey lavender, and my favorite flavor is Silver Bells which contains goat cheese, pistachios, dried cranberries, and dark chocolate chips. The ice cream ingredients are mostly locally sourced and are all carefully chosen. You can tell the care that is put into SoCo's flavors as they are all so creamy and delicious. The only thing that would make this place better would be homemade waffle cones, but the ice cream is so amazing that I'm still giving them 5 stars. When you go to SoCo, be sure to check out the wall decor where customers have written things they'll always remember and things they wish they had the courage to do. I like the pseudo-rock and roll pictures on the walls. I like the fact that the teenaged staff really pays no attention whatsoever when I camp out at their tables and eat take-out Thai food. Oh, yeah, the ice cream. The key-lime pie ice cream I tried on special here was really exceptional. A subtle lime flavor and graham cracker pieces created a delicious combination. Too bad it's not a regular flavor. I also enjoy the pumpkin and ginger flavors, which seem to crop up regularly. The heath bar is exactly what it says it is, if you're into that sort of thing. (The scoops are expensive but large enough for me...of course, I'm a wuss.) They also have a lot of frozen coffee drinks and an interesting "frozen hot chocolate", which is basically an extremely rich chocolate milkshake. Brownie sundaes are tasty enough and are also bigger then your head, which is a plus when you're a college student. I usually just cave and get the soft-serve frozen yogurt, which is both fat free, tasty enough, and can be topped with gummy bears. (Try chocolate-vanilla swirl with gummy bears! Mmm, perverse!) The pillowy softness of the pita, the smooth velvety texture of the hummus, the sweetness of the beets, and the saltiness of the olives all combined for one fantastic sandwich.
