My family (4 of us) were visiting town and looking for an indoor activity since it was so hot outside. My sister who lives here recommended this as a fun activity, and we all had fun! They charge a $4 per person studio fee (which I found out later is extremely low compared to places in the Bay Area), which covers the paint and clean up. (Don't forget to tip the workers who help with all the setup and cleanup!) Everyone who worked there was really nice. The paints and color samples are all in one spot, so it's easy for you to grab your paints when you're ready. The selection of items to paint was vast, and I believe the selections change with each season. They were getting ready for Halloween already (at the end of August). My mom and dad chose items for the garden (or bookshelf), my sister chose a yarn bowl, and I chose a spoon rest. We spent about two hours there because we found out that some of our painting ideas took longer than we thought they would. They have a schedule on the wall that says if you paint on a Saturday, your items will be ready by Thursday (if I remember correctly). And they have that for each day. It's a pretty quick turnaround time. You do all the painting on your ceramic item, they glaze and fire it, and you get to take home a cute item you painted. The only other cost you pay is for whatever item(s) you choose to paint. Overall, I think this is a great indoor activity that allows you to be creative and get away from extreme outdoor weather. Bonus for me was it helped me not stare at my phone so much. :)

Outside of that, that goes for my hair as well with pomades & such (a lot of brands that I've grown up on). There was even a moisturizer for my skin that's in-store that I thought I could only catch at another certain store, so knowing that Kim's is up the street from me makes it all beneficial. They also have cute home decor, accessories, paper goods, and other hand-picked vintage items. It's a great place to find a unique gift for someone. Carolina is also working on her own clothing line to ensure size inclusivity. The first time I came to this unique store was for my friend's baby shower (who is friends with Carolina, the owner). Somehow the space was transformed to fit a large beautiful table in the middle and make it an event space. They regularly host events and workshops like candle making classes, sound baths, and pop-up markets, all supporting local business owners and artists. Their next event is their annual Galentine's event. The last time I shopped there, I found the cutest cardigan that had an included scarf. I had never seen that before and it's brilliant for people like me who always forget about the scarfs I have and never use them. I also got a vintage puzzle for a friend. On a Whim is a must-stop when you are anywhere near Brookside!…read more I was so happy when they brought On a Whim to Tulsa and Brookside is the perfect place. On a Whim carries more up-scale designers. They have clothing, hand bags, shoes, jewelry, baby, and home accents. Also, one of my favorites, On a Whim is one of the few stores in Tulsa to carry Kendra Scott jewelry! The staff is very energetic and always willing to help. It is a very fun store. There is street parking along Peoria, but there is also a large lot behind the store. Again, it is somewhat expensive, but this is the place to find the designer brands. So, you should stop by, On a Whim!
