During Open Play there's no walk way for people to get on and off their courts without stopping other games to walk through others courts. I wish everyone knew how to move quickly and respect that others are standing there waiting but many were just leisurely about their movement. With 4 courts, much of the 1.5 hour session for open play is paused for people moving court to court. In my opinion, Open Play should be 2 hours at the same price to allow for the subs to move through to their courts since there is no appropriated walkway.

(Quite reasonable) Not for its court quality. (Low ceiling, but ok) I am giving "zero" for the owner's unacceptable attitude in addressing an incident. The manner he talks to customers, abruptly, absolutely rudely, no explanation what so ever. And if you reply and ask for "why", his response is "You cannot use the facility anymore. I can kick you out." Authority .....? "I can kick you out and ban all of you." Yes, he is one of the partners and yes, he may have the authority. But, if there is no sign of what to caution, and no warning, no explanation, then he cannot enforce such. His attitude of disrespecting the customers condescendingly was so unacceptable that we ended our membership there. We will not be going back.

TRASH Place - Extremely Disappointing Experience - Avoid Montclair/Fair Lawn Pickleball…read more Pros: They provide plenty of balls for play, but that's about all I can say positively based on our experience. Cons: The lack of net dividers between courts is a major issue, leading to constant disruptions throughout each game. The courts are also quite cramped and not spacious, making it hard to enjoy a good game. The indoor courts feel nearly identical at first glance, and the outdoor courts are not even properly surfaced--they're more like makeshift courts made of rough, sandpaper-like material. Many cracked balls are scattered around, and you need to check every ball before using it to ensure it's not damaged. But the biggest disappointment--and the reason my group of 69 active players will be avoiding Montclair/Fair Lawn Pickleball in the future--was the lack of professionalism and communication. In the last week of September 2024, we booked an open play session with four friends. It was raining that day, and we didn't hear anything from the venue until an hour before the scheduled start time. At that point, they informed us that the open play was canceled because it was supposed to be outdoors, not taking into account the two indoor courts available. Waiting until an hour before the session to cancel is unacceptable. Communication is key, and this delay shows a serious lack of consideration. We were offered a credit instead of a refund, which felt like a way to lock us into coming back. Unfortunately, we decided to give them another chance. Fast forward to December 1st, 2024, when we booked a 3.5-4.0 open play session from 1 pm to 3 pm. When we arrived, the session was overbooked--there were only three registered participants initially, but when I showed up with our large group, it swelled to 12 people, generating additional revenue for the venue. However, when we arrived, we were shocked to be sent to the outdoor courts, despite the fact that the website made no mention of outdoor play. This was misleading, especially given that it was freezing outside with brutal wind. It was clear that they had no intention of informing us about playing outdoors in such conditions, which felt like deceptive advertising. The team's response was weak--Matt simply stood there offering a refund as if that solved the problem. There are better, more reliable courts nearby, and it's frustrating to deal with a place that lacks transparency, professionalism, and respect for its customers. Montclair/Fair Lawn Pickleball has lost our business for good. f outta here

Still expensive but they also advertise 4 clinics per month included. The intermediate clinics ( less than official 3.75 dupr) are only on Monday 11am and 12pm for the foreseeable future. If you can make these then it is worth it IMO. If not, you will have to weigh if $199/month is still good for you without the clinics.

Black Brook Park is 11 acres of recreational area carved into the suburban woodlands of Whippany…read more It's a great spot for a bike ride, jog, or just getting your steps in thanks to it's paved path. You can also check out the smaller field and show your support as the local little league teams play baseball on the 60 ft diamond. There's also a full sized 90 ft diamond as well as lighted tennis courts, pickle ball, basketball, roller hockey, and volleyball courts.    In the warmer months they hold concerts and live events at the gazebo area and they also have a horseshoe pit which can sometimes get competitive. Not saying I'm a ringer or nothing but I have been known to throw a shoe now and again, just don't forget to bring your wallet Lol.    This park is always well maintained and clean and they're very serious about keeping that way. Dogs are welcomed as long as they're picked up after and there are restrooms located near the front parking lots. Come And Get Your Activities On!!

Per the township website and as is apparent once you arrive at this well-maintained, clean and beautiful park, it offers the following: Basketball court Bike and jogging path around the perimeter of the park Four lighted tennis courts Gazebo Horseshoe Pit Little League diamond (60 feet) Picnic area Playground Restrooms Standard size baseball field (90 feet) Tennis practice wall Tot playground next to the small diamond Two roller hockey courts Volleyball court Black Brook also offers a snack bar during baseball season, as well as picnic rentals. Even with overcast skies, it was great to be able to enjoy the fresh air and get the endorphins released today at such a pleasant spot. If you're a walker/runner, you may not find the perimeter of the trails adequate in terms of the stretch of trails (you can do multiple loops) but what's nice about this park is that you can venture into the very nice surrounding residential developments to get more distance in, with inclines/downhills. Great place to bring your doggie(s) too! They also have a nice little playground for the little ones. Check out Black Brook in Whippany!! :)

They have a very good system here, ensuring everyone interested gets a turn. Everyone seemed friendly, respectful, and there to have a fun time playing the sport. No one seemed overly competitive/combative and everyone was cool when a stray ball inevitably crossed a court mid-play. While I don't play pickleball all that often, I definitely consider this court one of the best outdoor courts I've played on. Oh and the views... wow!!! Where else can you play a sport in the city and enjoy such awesome waterfront views?! Even the skyscrapers above are gorgeous to look at as well. 5-stars in my book, through and through!

Flew in from CA and ran from our hotel on 28th past MSG to this awesome venue!…read more The fact that people were so welcoming and my son and I were able to hop right on a court and play king of the court with Zach was fun. Then as the game next to us ended we were invited to join another game. It's a surreal experience to be ON the Hudson with the boats passing by, helicopters landing and taking off and having the amazing NYC skyline to faze at in between points. The only reason that I can't give it a 5 star review is because of the lights. They were dim And you have to use 'the Force' to return some of the balls being hit at you. We are grateful to have met up with the folks we did and we had an absolute blast!
