I went in for a sneak preview today and met with Andrew the manager, and I have to say, I am SO EXCITED for this spot to open! They have 4 full, indoor pickleball courts, a couple of virtual golf rooms, a putting green, and even ping pong. The space is beautifully, newly built, and in a gorgeous new building too (which currently houses Saf-T-Swim and Push Fitness- and a juice bar Fitrition- to open soon). They not only offer pickleball court and golf simulator reservations, but also lessons/clinics and will even host private events. I think this will be an awesome addition to the existing businesses in the building and make it a fun, athletic complex. Welcome to Melville Pickle N Par

Reasonable pricing and hopefully enough play time. We just joined so we will see? Staff seemed helpful.

I participate in a third shot drop clinic with Andrew last week and after the clinic had a lesson with Steve.

My child was recently hired for a summer lifeguard position at Life Time, and unfortunately the…read moreonboarding experience has been extremely disappointing. She is currently a high school senior balancing final exams, end-of-year sports commitments, concerts, and other school obligations she has committed to through graduation. Throughout communication with the manager she would be reporting to, she provided the days and times she was available based on her school schedule and activities. However, no specific onboarding or training dates were clearly communicated upfront, such as mandatory dates for the team. After a misunderstanding regarding "next week" versus the week after Memorial Day -- when she actually has days off from school -- she received a message stating that more availability was expected from her. Shortly after, he informed her that he would have to let her go because of this. What was also concerning was the expectation of ongoing text communication during the school day. In New York, students are not permitted to be using their phones during school hours, yet she felt pressured to respond. Students and parents should be aware of this lack of communication and understanding when dealing with high school applicants. Clear onboarding expectations and schedules should be communicated upfront, especially when hiring students who are still actively in school. A little professionalism and respect for academics would have gone a long way here.

Best customer service ever…read more I've been to plenty of tennis pro shops, but this easily was my best experience. Such great staff in here! Topspin has a great selection of racquets, equipment and apparel. Their racquet stringing service is the best in the NYC metro area.

Topspin has a consumer rating of 5 stars from 3 reviews so I figured it couldn't be too bad. LOL I knew I'd have a better experience than my daughter recently had Dick's Sporting Goods with low inventory of tennis racquets and nonexistent staff (not even considering their level of knowledge). I visited Topspin yesterday (Saturday) afternoon and met Bill Levin (owner) who was friendly and knowledgeable about tennis racquets. He asked me a few questions about my daughter to estimate the proper grip size. He suggested a few entry level full graphite racquets (prestrung) and told me that if I purchased one (before removing the tags and use) I should take a picture of my daughter's grip on the racquet and send it to his personal mobile phone to review. If it's not the proper size grip I could bring the racquet in and exchange. I purchased the Babolat 2020 Boost A W Prestrung Tennis Racquet in Black, Pink and White color. I took the picture of my daughter gripping the tennis racquet and Bill promptly responded with, "Perfect," so I felt comfortable with the sizing. I'm very happy with the selection, knowledge and friendly service at Topspin.

Runner's Edge came to mind as my dad and brother had both gotten fittings there before. I went in the middle of a random weekday thinking the store would be less busy, but there were many customers in there being fitted. Jarod was the associate who helped me. He asked questions about my intended use for the shoes and had me try out a few pairs after measuring my feet. He made adjustments and picked different pairs out from the back as I told him how the shoes felt. I landed on the Saucony Guide 19, which was not shoes that I had in mind or come across during my research. But they are super comfy and I love running in them. I saw they had a lot of gels and other running gear in the store. Would love to revisit when I start preparing for longer runs!
