Timber Point Golf course is made up of three nine-hole courses, blue, white and red. The blue course has golf holes that have spectacular views of the Great South Bay. The municipal golf course being close to the water has taken a toll from climate changes that have affected most of the Long Island homes and facilities close to the shorelines. Timber Point Golf course needs renovation of its fairways and greens. Timber Point Golf Course great south bay location along with its beautiful natural surroundings seem to make it a no brainer. Unfortunately, from what I have read, the political hurdles to obtain budget approval to restore this course seem challenging. Personally, I struggled with the terrain of the golf course, long play, and the slow greens. Regardless of the wonderful Great South Bay views, I will not be playing this course in the future. There are many other Long Island public courses that have particularly good playing conditions. It would be unfortunate if Timber Point Golf course were not renovated, it is a beautiful location. I enjoyed playing the course, but the golf course were noticeably deteriorating. I wish those individuals the best of luck to find a way to preserve this Municipal Golf Course.

Most holes are par 4, one is 5, two are three. Visually , it isn't the most appealing and won't be having your jaw drop at the beautiful green fairway. I am not saying it is ugly , but it isn't the most attractive either which Is one thing I really enjoy about a course. There is some nice distance to launch some shots here on most of the holes , and the shorter par 3s present other challenges to keep it fun. From the clubhouse, one can see across vast expanses of the golf course. Several hundred trees were removed during a restoration led by architect Gil Hanse, the same man designing the Rio Olympics course. The first three holes play on your golf emotions like a fine wine that needs a bit more time to breathe. You know that in a short period of time, this magnificent bottle will yield a complexity that may be the best you have ever experienced. The only way to know is to savor what you have in front of you, grinning a little inside knowing that something very special is about to be revealed. St. Georges may look short on the card, but don't be fooled. It's a par-70, which means it will play almost 400 yards longer than the distance stated. While none of the holes is unfairly long, the rough is thick and high, the greens speedy and true, and the terrain severely undulating. You not only have to keep the ball in play, you have to control distance as well as accuracy. With the greens well protected by mounds, deep bunkers and internal contour, the adventure doesn't end when you get greenside, but may in fact be only be beginning. Holes #1 through #4 tempted me to take shots I can pull off on flat courses but the risk here at St.Georges are so strategic! that you should easy back off the accelerator and attack the course at very few and far between points. Devereux Emmet made sure of this back in 1916 when he designed the course, with classic bunkering on both the fairways and greens. Rolling your approach shots can be your best route or your worst nightmare. At the driving range as I was warming up for the days round, I was approached by the golf pro Rod Heller and we struck up a conversation. We talked golf plane swings as we both fought a double cross hook for some stints of time. I peered over his shoulder to see my playing partners waiting for me, I had to excuse myself so we could begin the journey of our day out on the course. To be honest, I could have spent all day talking to Russ. What a sweetheart, complete gentleman and so available and willing to assist members with any needs, questions or comments they threw his way.

I haven't been to Monster Mini Golf in quite some time, so I decided it would be a fun place to…read moreintroduce my kids to mini golf, especially with the whole glow in the dark theme. The place honestly hasn't changed all that much over the years, but it still looks really good. You can tell they do ongoing maintenance because it doesn't have that run down feeling that some mini golf places can get. My kids absolutely loved it. Mini golf can be a little boring for younger kids, but the glow lights, statues, and different obstacles made the whole experience much more interesting for them. They were having a great time and definitely want to go back. The course could use a little more variety, though. Some of the holes are pretty straightforward, and I think adding a few trickier obstacles or making each hole a little more unique would make it even better. That said, it was a great beginner experience for my kids and a good way to get them interested in mini golf. The facility was clean, the staff was friendly, and even the bathrooms were clean, which is always a plus. We also spent some time in the arcade, and the kids really enjoyed that too. The games are probably a little expensive per play compared to some other arcades, but everything was working, clean, and the games and machines seemed pretty up to date. We used a Groupon, which helped save some money. I did notice there were actually some better deals advertised on the Monster Mini Golf website if you use a promo code, but unfortunately we tried multiple times and couldn't get the code to work. Overall, we had a really good time. It's not the most challenging mini golf course out there, but for younger kids, the theme and atmosphere make it a lot more fun than a basic course. My kids had a blast, which is really what matters.

Golfing after some pizza? Don't mind if I do!…read more So before I made my way back to the Deer Park station to start heading back home, I decided to try this little place out. I've been needing to play some mini golf again considering I've volunteered to man the mini-golf area at my work functions on more than one occasion. And so, on tonight's episode of "I Have A Hopeless Golf Game", I got to experience my first indoor mini-golf course! It's glow-in-the-dark, and I was even able to see this for myself on my tie-dye "Yes Yes Yes" tour shirt! They have arcades and other games for anyone to play as well, and it's a great place for kids and adults alike! So I decided to play a round of 18 holes and get some practice in. And boy do I say that they really stick with the monster theme very well. Very appropriate for this time of year really. It was a very enjoyable game and I'm glad I got a mini golf game out of my Yelp excursion to Long Island today! My big criticism of the place was that the golf course was not really beginner-friendly. One of the rules they have on the scorecard is that you have a 5-stroke limit. Only 5? Hole 10 and how that was designed made me question my life choices wondering how on God's beautiful green earth I was going to get my ball in the hole in 5 strokes or less. A 6-stroke limit would be more appropriate given the difficulty of that hole as well as some others. By the way, if you want to know how hopeless my golf game was today, I scored a 68. Par for the entire course was 46. Yeah, I completely ate a skill issue sandwich on that one, a massive L. But even though it will probably be about 80 million years before I ever get to par for an entire golf course, I had a lot of fun, and I wish nothing but the best for this business and hope they continue to get customers. :)

The park has two handball courts, eight pickleball courts, and three tennis courts. It was very clear which sport is most popular--on a Sunday afternoon, all of the pickleball courts were in use while the tennis courts were completely empty. There were many people playing softball, but no one was using the baseball fields. The soccer nets were available but not in use, and the basketball courts were also empty during my visit. A few observations about the facilities: * Dogs are not allowed in the park under the Town of Islip Code, unless special permission is granted. * The grass is well maintained and kept low. * I saw only one picnic table near the pool, which is currently closed for the season, but there were several picnic tables inside the closed pool area. * Visitors can bring a blanket if they want to sit on the grass during the colder months. * Benches are provided near the softball and baseball fields. However, there is no seating near the pickleball or tennis courts, aside from benches by the nearby baseball field. Overall, this park offers a variety of recreational facilities and is a good location for outdoor activities. The most needed improvement would be the installation of additional seating near the pickleball and tennis courts to better accommodate players and spectators. It's worth visiting if you enjoy pickleball, softball, or simply want a well-kept outdoor space.
