I first went to Roy several years ago, and I ended up buying a significant amount of tackle from him for one simple reason: he's honest and sincere. There's no sales pitch, no gimmicks, and no pressure. He tells you what works, what doesn't, and why. That kind of integrity is rare these days, and it keeps people coming back. The inventory isn't massive, but that's actually part of the strength of the store. If you fish for walleye or troll for salmon, you'll find some very good, unique gear that you won't see everywhere else. Everything on the shelves has a purpose. Prices are reasonable, and the service is truly exceptional. When you ask for advice, you're not getting guesses--you're getting experience. Where Nick's Sporting Goods truly stands apart is archery. If you're an archer or into archery hunting, it's hard to imagine a better shop. Roy is an expert and a genuine archery enthusiast, and it shows in the quality of guidance and setup he provides. I hate to write a bad review of any business, but the staff demonstrated a fundamental lack of care in my opinion. I am not from the Niagara region. A friend recommended NQ to me, and so I used their Airsoft part ordering service. This process took a couple months, with an extreme lack of communication. My friend would frequently contact the staff, and they would consistently not be aware of the status of our products. Apparently their parts "person" would not be in, and they would not maintain consistent contact with him. NQ would never give an ETA, citing problems at the border with the United States. When the products finally did arrive, we made the hour or so trip into St. Catherine's. Little did we know that the parts were not even ordered for one of my friend's guns. I handed over mine (CYMA M14 and KJW M9) to be fitted with a new barrel and hop up, and my friend gave his Desert Eagle to their gun technician. They then proceeded to tell me (after a week or so) that the hop up replacement was not necessary and that the barrel did not fit. They did not have access to my guns. I get that. But if they did not know something, they should have asked. I still got charged $25 for labour and my friend's gun was worse off than it came in. In terms of selection, NQ is not bad. However, DMZ does get a G&G shipment each month. I would place an order with them and get guns with them instead. I understand certain things take time, but I was never informed of the delay and was never questioned if parts would fit. They still charged me $25 and told me "this stuff happens". A fundamental lack of customer service.

Then this lady walks in after me and they immediately greet her. I turned around in shock and looked at them, then one of the guys proceeded to ask me if I needed any help. So, I told him no I'm good and walked out of the store. Why would I want to patronize a store when they can't seem to greet every customer. Nowadays, it's seems like people are more engaged in their phones at work than making sure they give every customer an exceptional shopping experience. Soon as I walk in, I was greeted by all of the employees who all had a hand in helping me find new shoes, bag, and have a ball drilled for my hand. This place may be small but every crack and crevice is filled with just about anything you can think of to fit your bowling needs - you name it, they have it. I am a very casual bowler and don't know too much of the lingo that comes with experience but these guys were all very informative, knowledgeable, and patient with helping me step by step with everything I needed. They recommended many things without being pushy or overwhelming. Great service, great prices, great selection of products, and they even gave me a free game at Kenmore lanes to try out my new equipment! Oh and they also have a "shop dog" that walks around and hangs about the aisles too! It likes belly rubs. So cute!
