A very pleasant experience from the moment I walked in the door. Pro Hockey Life had someone right…read moreby the entrance to steer me in the right direction. Though the skate wall had many people shopping the sales associate took the time to use a brannock device to measure my foot and then explain to me why he was recommending certain skates for me to try on. As with my last trip to a store to buy skates (see below) my first associate had to swap out, but here I continued to receive the same great service and help with trying on 5 different pairs of skates. Pro Hockey Life not only had great customer service, but a big selection of skates to try on. While my skates were being sharpened I looked for blade covers and another associate walked me over to the right section of the store to find what I was after. Later as I was checking out the same guy came up and cautioned me on my choice (RED Pro Terry Blade Soakers) he warned me to remove them from my skates as soon as possible because he had seen the red dye bleed and stain the holder on skates in the past. Just another example of the staff going the extra mile to help a newbie like myself. Thank you Pro Hockey Life! I ended up picking up the bike and also amazing quality commercial UMAX dumbbells and a rock solid True Fitness bench, all at great prices for the quality level- I'm sure they'll outlive me. I wasn't sure if they'd sell to just the public but Alastair was very helpful and friendly, and even helped me load everything into my little car, which involved unpacking quite a few things. I'll be going back again or at least calling if I need any other quality fitness equipment! (I also posted this review on Facebook and Google)

Can I give it no stars like the no bike they sold me? Ordered $3K bike after they told me it was…read morein stock. They charged CC right away, a week later, after I had called regarding status of pick up, they tell me it still needs to be assembled...be patient. A week later they tell me the one in stock is damaged and they cant repair it so they need to order another from their Ottawa store. Another week later they tell me the second one is also damaged and they cant repair it. Seriously, if they cant get two brand new bikes working, heaven help you if you brought them in one that was actually damaged to fix. I asked them to follow up with Cannon, the manufacture, but that was like a month ago and still no follow up. My riding season is off to a great start...not, thanks for nothing MEC.

There was a…read moreproblem with my jacket order...they couldn't find a Synergy Gore-Tex Jacket even though their system said there was at least 1 on hand in Canada at the clearance price of 30% off. Well, I asked and they agreed to ship me a 2018 Synergy Jacket for the clearance price. What a deal...or could I say steal!!! Terrific customer experience is what it was. The jacket arrived yesterday via Canada Post (free shipping) and I'm now set with my 3rd Gore-Tex coat in 30 years. It's a fantastic all-weather material if you maintain it. Thank you MEC!

This is a Games Workshop Brand store, they sell Fantasy and Sci-Fi miniatures for gaming as well as…read morepaints and hobby tools. before I start this review I would like to say that I used to enjoy coming here a few months ago, everyone was friendly and the store was really clean. that changed a few months ago. The shop has a whole range of tools for modeling and painting under the "Citadel" brand. while they are decent tools, they are incredibly expensive for what they are. a pair of clippers will run you 40$ without tax, paints will cost you about 6$ a pot for about 12ml of actual paint, and a small bottle of plastic glue is about 10$. the pricing for tools and glue is very expensive and for this reasons i looked for alternatives. i found cheaper tools and glue for a fraction of the price, so i could buy more miniatures. This did not please GW, the manager of the store asked me to leave for having a bottle plastic glue out that wasn't "Citadel" brand. even though every time I'm in there I buy something to support the store. i found the store to be trying to rope in newer customers and push people away from there store who have experience in models and have their own tools. The store has completely turned me off from buying any Citadel products and has off put me from continuing to support their brand. I do NOT recommend newer customers or parents researching this hobby for their children go into a Game Workshop store, The way they treat their Customers is horrible, they drive out anyone looking to save a bit of money and demand that you be loyal only to them. if you wish to play Warhammer then I highly recommend looking for a Independent retailer. they are MUCH better then Corporate Games Workshop stores.
