Chicken noodle soup
Kathleen S.

Came here for a quick bite to eat. I wasn't feeling that well so soup sounded good. I order the chicken noodle soup and my wife got the cheddar broccoli soup. Both soups were yummy. I also couldn't help but to grab a chocolate chip cookie and a lemon bar. Happy I did because they were delicious! The treats I got were even better than the soups! Definitely great place to grab something quick and yummy. Staff was super friendly and restaurant was clean. Prices were fair!

Lobster roll, onion rings and soda

Just ordered takeout from here. Easy to place an online order for pickup which is convenient. Only took like 20 mins to be ready for pickup. The prices are not too bad. The lobster roll was good as were the onion rings. Hubby got the chicken parm sandwich and that was also fine. Nice local spot.

Ooh, and the bread!

The road signs and online pictures posted of Lobster Roll were tempting, if I hadn't just had one yesterday. It was the best BLT I've ever had! Perfection!

First trip to CT and had to try a Connecticut lobster roll! Found Spoonshoppe Brook Deli on our way to Bradley International Airport and stopped for lunch. It was the perfect pit stop. Cute deli and market, but most importantly... the perfectly toasted warm buttery bread and 1/4 lb of lobster meat. The lobster was fresh and perfectly dressed with (more) warm butter. If you are looking for a CT style lobster roll and are in the area, definitely add Spoonshoppe Brook Deli to your list!

Holy Heaven!! Sooo I pull up to this place around 4:15pm and I see maybe 2 cars in the parking lot and think I've missed out. I almost leave but I see this guy watering plants and sign says open, so I jumó out the truck walk over and sure enough they are open. You can't go inside, (Covid) so someone comes out and as I'm looking over the menu I see, "Famous Lobster Roll." Heck why not, I love lobster and I'm hungry. Let me tell you this is where things get exciting. So I'm sitting down and she brings me this brown bag. I open it and inside is this roll in the foil wrap. I begin to unwrap the role and bam! A combo punch between between the smell and the look chunks of buttery lobster!! My mouth begins to salivate. I can't hold back I have to take a bite. As I dig in and take the first bite I get this warm buttery flavorful bread, toasted just enough and then BAM you are digging into the warm, buttery flavor town chunks of lobster meat. Your eyes shut closed and im saying thank you Jesus! because He created this magnificent creature that swims in the ocean and now I get to consume it on this amazing role. Yes this role was that good. So good I ordered another one and savored every bite for as long as possible. I will be back to try other items but not without ending it with this lobster roll!!

Fresh & plenty of menu items to chose from. They have soups and sandwiches burgers, hotdogs, grilled cheese and even seafood that all sound like a nice lunch hour choice especially if you call ahead. It's clean and we'll organized here ,but the bathroom situation is a little weird you get the key and have to go outside to the side of the building . The clam strips we're good but pricey(by the pound) and a small side (box) is around 7 bucks. They are crispy and a decent size. I would try the meal next time for value wise. I also has a side of beef stew soup . It was really a soup loads of meat and potatoes very filling even a small size(4) They have grab and go items and pumpkins for sale in the Fall. Pies and cookies . Parking is plentiful .

Best CT Hot Lobster Roll!!

They have the most delicious and cheapest lobster roll around. Idk why its taken me so long to learn this. Everywhere else is a hit or miss but this place is a guarantee hit for lobster roll. Perfectly buttery & delectable. Also they have adorable hand made chocolate treats !!! Cheap too!! New tradition is every year to treat myself on my birthday.

Not the biggest roll, but it wasn't expensive.

Lobster rolls! Lobster was straight fire toasted to perfection and fresh! I will be back! Make sure you order 2-3 of them

The grinder was delicious- good amount of turkey, all the veggies were fresh, bread was tasty. It really was a great grinder :)

We LOVE this deli and market. Ok, so it's almost 2 hours from our house. We just find excuses to sort of drive by on our way to anywhere in New England. Like we did on our way to Rhode Island. The sandwich selection is awesome, with our favorite being the lobster roll on a toasted, buttered roll. They pack about 1/4 pound of lobster onto this side-split bun. Mostly everything is fresh, and sandwiches are made to order. They offer a daily selection of fresh baked cookies and pastries. Oh, and HUGE kosher garlic pickles in the fridge. You have to survey the chalkboard menu, place your order at the window and serve yourself. All to our delight.

Caseus Provisions - Tartufo

Caseus Provisions

I have been a very long time fan of Caseus, but prior to today, my only experiences with them had…read morebeen from their truck. I have heard incredible things about the vibe and experience of actually going to their shop from many close friends, all fellow foodies, some which are even friends with the Caseus team. With their raves and my existing love for their grilled cheeses off the truck, my expectations could not have higher. I even held off my visit for just the right time so that I was in a good mindset to take it all in properly! Somehow, I'd say my expectations were surpassed. Upon entering the shop, I was immediately warmly welcomed. Very comfortable vibe. They have lots of provisions (justifying their name), including sauces, condiments, and more. They have a refrigerated case with house made desserts and a variety of cheeses, as well as an additional case of more specialty cheeses. Their menu has many brilliant grilled cheese creations, the option to build your own or customize any of theirs with additional toppings, and a rotating special. I have been thinking hard about what I would order when I finally made it in, and I still struggled. Luckily, the person helping me was super passionate, sweet and happy to help and offer information. They described their top picks, one of which was one of my top contenders, so that was the winner. The Berries & Creme. It is their classic grilled cheese with the addition of Brie and house made blueberry compote. I believe all of their grilled cheeses have the classic (their house blend of cheeses) as the base. I am not a Brie fan, at all. I wanted to give it a shot, and knew that there was not a better place to do that than Caseus. I can't rave enough about the person helping me. They assured me that it was balanced and not overpowering how they incorporated it in, so I was excited to give it a go. No experience with Caseus would be complete without their tomato soup. The 8 ounce cup is the perfect accompaniment, and just the right amount to both dip and have a little extra to savor on its own. I browsed the shops pile they prepared my sandwich, and couldn't resist a bread pudding. They had 2 kinds today: sticky toffee and bananas foster. I was leaning bananas foster, but asked their preference anyway. Bananas foster it was! When my grilled cheese was perfectly melty and ready, I took my lunch to one of the tables outside to enjoy it fresh. There isn't any indoor seating, which I appreciate actually. Much better flow to the space that way. The grilled cheese was probably the best one yet. It may actually be the first time I haven't built my own. This was absolutely delicious. Perfect execution. Lots of extra cheese crispies around the edges. Plenty of butter without being excessively greasy, a major turnoff for me. I can't tolerate the mouthfeel either, so I was extremely impressed with how they prepared it. This is where you want to whip out the term "sandwich artist", because they are just that. They put so much care, thought and love into what they do and each and every sandwich they serve. Every customer and their sandwich is just as important as the next. The sandwiches are accompanied by grainy mustard and a couple of cornichons. I even get excited for that part! I use every bit of that cup. The tomato soup is perfectly creamy without being too rich or heavy. They let the deep, fresh tomato flavor shine. They cook it just enough so that it's a deep developed flavor but still bright. There is not better tomato or grilled cheese. I devoured it all, and still, upon arriving to my car, cracked open the bread pudding for a taste. I loved that it was extremely moist without being wet or overly saucy/sugary/caramely. It didn't read super heavy, while still being satisfyingly sweet. Plenty of nuts and banana. Soft, well saturated bread. It was perfect as far as I'm concerned. Really impressed. Caseus is all about perfect execution, or at least as close to perfect as it can possibly get. They are masters of their craft, and you just feel so much joy from both your interactions. With them and their incredibly tasty food. I am so thrilled I made it to the shop, and know that now I won't be able to stay away. Definitely check them out as soon as possible if you have not. They are an incredibly special staple of the CT food scene.

The place is cute, the stairs at the entrance are lethal, so take care going in and out. There is a small seating area in front and no lot, but room to park on the street. I poked around a bit while I waited for my order, the cheeses were unique and pricey as they are at every cheese shop I've visited, I may be back for some.

Home made meatballs, not from a can, sausage and peppers, again, homemade on site. When we go I usually get the chicken cutlet. (I'm reading a review from 4 years ago saying the cutlet should be hot, well, dammit, did he ask for it hot? I was given the option. Because if you ask for it hot, and travel, and it gets cold and soggy, it's worse than having it cold in the first place!) My husband gets the meatball. My dad just got the Philly cheese steak, said it was the best he's ever had, and he's had a lot of them, he's 87. Paul catered my son's wedding reception. We gave him a stipulation, no onions in anything. Anything. And he pulled it off spectacularly. A new deli opened in town, tried them out of curiosity. Nope. Sticking with Paul's. He's the best.

What I really liked was that While the food was heating up, he did the payment at the cash register, and when he was done, he washed his hands at the sink and put on gloves to finish my sandwich. I was very happy by that. The sandwich was pretty good. I was very happy with it as well, as the brownie that I purchased, I would highly recommend to go for homemade soup or sandwich. They also had a lot of pre-made chicken cutlets and grilled chicken in the deli as well as meals prepackaged. I recommend checking it out.
