I've been going to this store since the last location and I love their new location. Bigger and it has a great atmosphere to it. I called to see if they had a new album that came out and they had two and held one back for me. That's what I call great customer service. Be sure to check this place out!

AMAZING. RECORD. STORE. I was having breakfast at 4th & State, and realized that I placed far too much money on the meter. Noticed that there was a record store next door and figured it wouldn't hurt to browse their selection. I'm VERY GLAD THAT I DID. Simply put, this place was AMAZING! Normally, Hip-Hop sections in Record Stores are relatively small and leave a lot to be desired. So when I walked in and saw their extensive selection, I knew that this would be the place for me. R&B was also like this, as well. I ended up buying Morgan Wallen's Dangerous (Double LP) and Solange's a Seat at the Table. Together, that was about $60 and I thought it was a fantastic price/value. The staff members were kind as well, as I raved about how great of a find this store was. We even had small banter about the Nicki Minaj show I attended the night before. Excellent store and if I'm ever back in Columbus, I'll be here to add some new things to my collection.

We had a few minutes to spare before eating at Dirty Franks (around the corner), and were SO HAPPY to discover Spoonful Records! BESIDES the selection, including a bargain bin right up front (love those), let me tell you about the staff. THEY ARE SO KIND. Knowledgeable about their vinyl, they are also super friendly to visitors. I was dropping Ed and Lillie off to the Queen concert downtown at the arena, and asked them the best way to get there. They not only showed me, but also gave me a GREAT tip on where to pick them up, only a few blocks from the arena, but with far less traffic. Thank you!

A quant shop in the popping, up and coming, East Long neighborhood, Spoonful presents inside its recess doors a classic record store space with an interesting twist in decor: a pea green color adorns the walls and flows back to a window dressed in a 'grandma' style curtains. Though it would seem to clash, the color scheme works well with the throwback feel of the slinder space with displays flanking the entrance harkening back to the age of urban street shopping. The bay to the right welcomes with strings of colored records and a retro Kodac advertisement, to the left stacks of records, players, and other stuff are displayed. With sigage using bouncy fonts, the clean lines of its widow decal, and the cute little record store street sign, Spoonful combines a midcentury nostalgia with a clean newness. Inside you will find friendly clerks. Inventory here is 95-percent vinyl albums of a healthy selection. There is a few compact disks on sale but this is a place for the better sounding analogs. To add to the sense of retro-ness two pinball games are available. Prices here seem in-line to the other few record stires left in town. Spoonful is a great place to get a bite of the dwindling culture of the past, and classic albums.

Really nice store, location, very cool staff!! Lots of 80s LPs!! Really enjoyed the visit, picked up Depeche Mode's Policy of Truth EP, Mike and the Mechanics' 12' single, Madonna cassette, and Lapsley 10 inchsingle.... be going back to pick up more LPs!! Lots of potential from this vinyl store! I went back and Flans was an a find!! Mid 80s pop group, Flans! Vinyl in great condition, at least VG+, cover w light aging, no splitting.... the best was it included the original vinyl sleeve/poster, mail insert, and booklet..... just a great buy!! Can't wait to spin at home in Chicago!!

Great selection of some personal favs. I unfortunately did not have enough change to feed the meter, so I was pressed for time to look around Spoonful. I first met the retired father, he helps his son and daughter-in-law run the business, and he was so pleasant. His name has slipped my mind, but I gladly encourage you to find him and introduce yourself. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but he did direct me to the rock section (I love 60s music). Several caught my eye. The gentleman pointed out a CCR that I need to go back and purchase! Though I've neglected to play my stash over the last several years, I feel that vinyl records are something worth holding on to, perhaps passing on to a younger generation, in due time. I'll definitely make a stop back in to support Spoonful, as vinyl shops are somewhat few and far between, nowadays.

They even wrapped them for me

These days it's a street level entrance, but the absolutely amazing vinyl selection is still very much present in this new record shop located on Summit Street north of campus. most people would be hard pressed not to find several selections that they really like in this large shop. Truly incredible variety. As with most shops like this in the Columbus area, there are some vinyl record collector supplies available for purchase. True collectors and audio files will find this feature very useful. Friendly and talkative staff at the front desk, who are happy to answer thoughtful questions. They are knowledgeable so if you have something on your mind, hit them up if they can help you, I'm feeling pretty confident that they'll do their best. Parking can be a bit of a chore as there are a number of other retail shops in this immediate area, it is also a residential area, and a highly trafficked street. With a little patience, you'll be able to find something relatively nearby. Be sure and check the signs to make sure that you're parking in an area that is permissible.

I remember going…read morethere once back in the '90s with a much cooler friend, in what I believe was an older location, and being in awe of his ability to dig through crates and come up with incredible records by bands that I had barely heard of. Now I'm a bit further along in my appreciation of punk, hardcore, metal, and more, and remember him every time I come and wander through the LPs, 7"s and 45s, tapes, and more that fill its long shelves and multiple rooms. If you're not a punk and hardcore fan, don't worry. Used Kids has a bit of everything, and holds it all in an environment that's well lit, clearly marked, affordably/reasonably priced, and staffed by friendly, knowledgeable folks who won't make you feel like an idiot if your awareness of niche jazz or Eastern European post-punk bands doesn't equal their own. New music and old, used records and still-sealed wonders - it's all here, and giving yourself a copy of hours to wander is well worth your time. See you soon, Used Kids. You know I'll be back.

GREAT store! Came…read morehere looking for tapes for my bro-in-law, as he just got a sweet 1989 Trans Am that still has the original tape deck. While waiting, I noticed they had a good selection of CD's, maybe not in sheer numbers, but diverse in artists and styles. I was hedging on purchasing Del the Funky Homosapien, and decided against it because I was trying to save some money. The proprietor asked about it, I mentioned my thriftiness (just in conversation, not trying to make a deal), and he offered to take a couple bucks off! And threw in a free concert t-shirt handed to him by Del himself! Seeing the value, I jumped at the chance to sweeten the deal. My Wu-Tang bootleg isn't getting any younger, and has been skipping a lot. I asked if he'd throw that one in for another $10. Done! He asked where the hot music places are up in Cleveland. I reluctantly told him that Downtown Records is now a steakhouse. He knew the store from the past, however. Guy knows his business. I will absolutely be back, every time I am in Columbus. I'm a huge fan of '70s fashion and absolutely fell in love with a pair of high-waisted, straight-leg denim jeans. Sadly, they were a bit too tight in the waist, even though the fit everywhere else was perfect. While I'm not overly fond of the pricing, I do understand it--because for the perfect, high-quality pair of vintage jeans, I'd absolutely pay the price. I didn't leave empty-handed though; I walked out with a super cool pair of sunnies that I'm obsessed with. Huge thanks to my lovely sweetheart for finding this gem of a store! This store specializes in vintage finds. they have furniture, glassware, jewelry, clothing, vinyl records, and a lot of other really cool pieces. You could spend a few hours in here, looking at everything they had. Their vintage clothing selection is quite extensive, although we both felt that the pieces were a bit overpriced. It was definitely a fun way to spend a few hours, but again we didn't spend any money because the clothing was so pricey. If you're looking for some unique vintage items this is definitely the place to look
