We had Swedish meatballs and fish stew! We loved it and it was the best we ever had! The bread and butter were great too!

I was only able to try one place for Swedish meatballs while in Sweden, and I am glad it was this place! The staff are super friendly and speak English. The food came out almost instantly and you had the choice to grab some bread and free water. They had a wonderful selection of local and non-alcoholic beverages as well! There isn't a ton of seating, but I was lucky to not have to wait!

Cozy little restaurant. Very friendly staff. Our food arrived very quickly and was delicious. Half of the menu rotates. Great place for a quick, low-key dinner. Mysig liten restaurang. Mycket vänlig personal. Vår mat kom mycket snabbt och var utsökt. Hälften av menyn roterar. Bra ställe för en snabb, lågmäld middag.

spoonery is my go-to spot to take friends and family who are visiting malmö--they must try köttbullar, or swedish meatballs, at least once! i've been to the västergatan location and came to the st. knut's location while in the area -- it is a very cute location with outdoor picnic benches as well as indoor seating (more than the other location). came at 11:40am on a sunday. order at the counter then take your own water, silverware, and bread. if you sit outside, they call your order number and place your dishes on a table to pick up. the swedish meatballs are 135SEK and came with ~6 meatballs, potatoes, pickled cucumber, and lingonberry. don't be fooled by the pictures -- the portion is actually huge and so filling. the meatballs are nice, taste more fresh than store-bought. this time, the gravy was a little salty though. a very heavy meal for me, but it was good. they also have some other dishes like korean bibimbap, hot pot, fish soup, and beef stews that it seemed like locals were eating. update: i tried the fish stew! more vegetables than fish itself but it was a nice change and i liked the dill. if you're coming to spoonery for the first time though, the meatballs are a clear winner

Had to try the Swedish meatballs on a day trip to Malmö from Copenhagen. They did not disappoint. This place was recommended by locals and was very good. Service was excellent and all the Swedish selections were very good.

A place dedicated for soups and stews was exactly what we were looking for in the cold winter days when walking through Malmö. Please note that they have two restaurants, one in Limhamn and one in St. Knuts väg and this is the review for the St. Knut's one. No menu card here, everything is displayed on the wall. Goulash, southern france fish stew, chicken in creamy soup, chili from chuck meat, a couple of other that I can't quite remember and obviously this being in Sweden, they have vegetarian dishes (bean casserole and vege lentils soup). Order from the cashier and wait for your soup to appear on the kitchen window. Bread and butter to eat with your soup as much as you want. Service is friendly, place is super cozy and they have quite selection of non alcoholic drinks (I got the lascombe ginger beer which was good). My goulash came out really tasty and with a price of 98kr for the giant bowl, it's really worth the money. My sisters ordered the Southern France fish stew and the chicken cream soup and they were all happy about their food. One thing for sure is that they were not petty about the meat. My sister's chicken soup came with large chunk of chicken and so the Fish Stew with bunch of salmon and shrimps. Overall, I recommend this place if you seek warmth in winter weather or just that warm feeling of eating homemade food. I love it

Chili dish, great taste, freshly made of good quality meat, amazing bread! Lemonade on the side! Fully enjoyed it!

Shukran Laziza. We arrived in Malmo on a Sunday afternoon. After checking into our hotel we…read morerealized we were quite hungry, but unfortunately a lot of food establishments we looked up were showing up closed until we saw Laziza was near our hotel and showing up as open. I personally am not a fan of buffets but my husband is Lebanese-Armenian & doesn't mind buffets & always wants Lebanese food when it's an option. I was a little apprehensive when we walked in because the hostess & waitresses were Swedish, but then I heard Arabic music & noticed the staff coming in/out of the kitchen to stock the food was speaking Arabic so I knew the food would be ok. My favorite items were the wrapped grape leaves & mini desserts. My grandmother & aunts used to make a lot of the same desserts so the flavors were very nostalgic & comforting. I can also appreciate how they had managed to make tiny delicate bite sized portions of each. I was impressed by that because these desserts are so intricate & difficult to make so making them into tinier pieces can't be easy. We had a lovely meal at Laziza and enjoyed our visit.

One of the guests was finishing food at 12:10 when we were approached by the waitress telling that the restaurant has 1 hr dine-in policy. Then the same waitress came back after 2 minutes telling me that "I have guests waiting outside." I was never aware of this policy and if this is a new one, no one told us at the cashier (By the way, the lady at the cashier was more accommodating). I was embarrassed that we were the only table and customers treated that way. This is frustrating that the waitress at Dockan branch was mainly targetting us and I was embarassed by this attitude with other customers looking at us. Also, we found that seats outside were available. I hope that the restaurant can look into this and train the staff to communicate properly with guests. Your food is no doubt highly recommended and other staff were warm and polite. However, this waitress telling us customers (who were obviously chewing last spoonful of food and the other having coffee) to leave the place twice in a span of 2 minutes was very rude. We left the place around 12:15.

The outdoor seating was pretty packed, and the sandwiches looked amazing, so we decided to try it! I'm so glad we did. Although we didn't see any English menus, we were able to translate the menu on our phones without a problem. We ordered our food inside, and everything was prepared quickly. We ordered three Burrata sandwiches, a jamón sandwich, and an order of fries. Everything was delicious! The sandwiches were very large and packed with fresh ingredients. The fries were crispy and came with some kind of an aioli-like dip. Plenty of outdoor seating at this restaurant and you order inside at the bar using your table number, which you can find at your table. The bathrooms are interestingly covered in sticky notes left behind by previous customers. Very fun to look through!

Luckily, the table was in the shade, so it was a very pleasant temperature and we were able to eat outside. We ended up ordering burrata sandwiches and a jamón sandwich, as well as 2 orders of fries (which were plenty for the 4 of us). Delicious! The ingredients were fresh, and the food was presented well. Highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a tasty lunch spot!

It's probably the only "bodega" in the vicinity of this cherry hill, but I must admit it was pretty good. The reason I was here was the Wednesday quiz. Some quiz enthusiasts dragged me here to join the weekly quiz at 7pm. Unlike posh pubs in Copenhagen, you are not required to pay to join (I know you have to pay 50kr in Taphouse). You will get a sheet of answer with some blank rows and some picture clue and the quiz master will drop by at your table to tell you the questions. The questions were surprisingly various, from chemistry to a Swedish pop singer to a Canadian board game that ended up super famous around the world. Det var trevligt, to put it in Swedish. In the end we came third place, oh well. There's always the next time, although I won't probably be there to join it again. Apart from the quiz, this place looks like a cross breed between ordinary bodega and hip bar. You would find "the usual" on tap - Tuborg Guld and the likes, but they have also some (Swedish?) bottled beer, not terribly fancy ones like that Åens Øl has in their list or Mikkeller bottle shop, but they provide you alternatives if you don't want to touch the good old Tuborg. They serve cocktails as well and although I didn't try, they had pretty much the standard cocktails on the menu, including Dark & Stormy - maybe I should try that one next time instead of make do with St. Peter's cream stout, maybe I will win the quiz that way - who knows? ...and of course this being Sweden, an establishment serving alcohol must also serves food and they have the usual snack (nachos etc) to pub menu like hamburger and fries and of course some vegetarian dishes. All in all, it's a pretty ok place to hang out and the crowd is ranging from the elderly to the hipsters around.

We started with an Eriksberg and the salad bar. Salad is included with the entree. A good variety of items from greens to cheese (Feta, Mozzarella), seasoned mushrooms, corn & peppers. The Tenderloin was amazing! On the other hand, the Sirloin was ok & came out closer to medium. Would order just the Tenderloin in the future. The Carnivore Classic (Burger) was also ordered and it was very good. The fries come with the entrees and we ordered the potatisgratang as an extra and the creamy potatoes were very good and definitely worth the 20 KR. Also got the Pepper (good) & Bearnaise (better) side sauces. They also have chicken and Salmon entrees but the feeling is that it is all about the steaks here. Service was ok and could have been more attentive. Overall, a solid choice for steak.

My first kebab experience was in Lund - served more like a cone, it had kebab meat, onion, tomato, salad and blended sauce (spicy and garlic). So when I tasted a crazy little pickle in that first bite of my kebab from Falafel No. 1, I didn't know what to think. Was this a single rogue pickle that found its way into my kebab rulle? Or were there...MORE? Oh, little pickle.... How I doubted you in that first bite. A little Tiffany Food-Quirk background.... I love pickles. However, whenever I find them on sandwiches, burgers, and pretty much everything that can contain a pickle, I usually pick them out and eat them. Separately. It's just what I do. Except at Falafel No. 1. These pickles just... work. Together. Lately, I've been ordering the the falafel and tabouli roll. The tabouli is really good and fresh, with just the right amount of lemon and mint. The falafels are always hot and crispy on the outside, never soggy. If you order falafels separately, they're 2kr a piece and you often get a few bonus. The gentlemen behind the counter making your food are always willing to accommodate "no's" and "extra's". And if you're lucky, you'll get to hear them sing along to the music. I lived across the street from Falafel No. 1 for 2 years. The food is fantastic, inexpensive, and always served with a smile. While this is fast food, and it probably meant my husband and I were working late and neither one of us had the time to cook or do dishes... I was proud to have this be my neighborhood falafel shop.

And…read moreI must admit the orient house's fried vegetarian golden balls are truly delish and worthy of being the winner of best falafel award in Malmö which makes them most likely the best in the entire Sweden. I base this claim on the fact that falafel culture is pretty much a Malmö phenomenon with roots going back to the 80's. As street food, these golden made out of greens balls/buns are my favorite late night/early morning on a bender nib to devour. I also believe, and yes I know what placebo is, that falafel is a great prevention or treatment vs hangovers. The ones made at the Orient house do wonders let me assure you and this must also be because of some of the best creamy garlic sauce and humus I ever tasted that follow these golden buns. I especially love the fact that the rolls are pressed and grilled on a Panini grill giving it all also another texture and feeling. Pricewise no one can complain about the plates or rolls these guys serve, they do not hold back. Another plus in my book is the freshness of the veggies and herbs served and this is where many other places need to work hard on. They offer tons of variation to suit as many taste buds as possible but to me the classic falafel roll or falafel plate with chips is the best way to go. The only con as far as I am concerned is the décor. The place could benefit from a refurbishment as well as some more lights as it is a little too dark and gloomy. P.S they do serve other stuff, meaty stuff, but this review is only for the falafel which is my fav late night nib especially on the bend and because of the latest kebab meat scandals.
