Spent my…read moreholiday season going to the Nordic countries and imo, this was by far the best meal on the entire trip. Had their famous Swedish meatballs and they were divine! I had this particular dish 5x throughout my trip in Sweden and this was by far the ultimate winner. The meatballs had a perfect texture with just the right amount of gravy and the lingonberry sauce was so fresh that all the berries were still intact. Not sure if I've ever had this dish before but had their Gravlux. If I ever had this dish before, all memory of it was erased with theirs. Cognacured with the best honey mustard I've ever had and the perfectly seasoned mini cream dill potatoes My only complaint is that they haven't decided to come to the USA, particularly Los Angeles. =)

Walking in they can quickly find you seating in an otherwise appearing busy restaurant. Staff quickly takes drink and food orders and for the short wait you can enjoy the rich and luxurious atmosphere with ornate wallpaper and decorations surprisingly complimented by the very low American/UK pop music in the background. With food this good, I understand why there are only 3 things on the menu. The meatballs were perfectly complimented with each item and combined for that perfect bite. My partner said these were the best meatballs of his life! And I could have lived my life off of their mashed potatoes. Once finished, paying is a breeze and staff cordially bids you farewell. A must if you're in the area

I thought it was AMAZING! So fresh, so tasty, and so rich with flavor. There was a nice kick to the sauce and it made the dish all that much better. This restaurant was an experience and definitely worth it to make the trip. Service: 5/5 - Super friendly and welcoming staff. Ambiance: 4/5 - The area was a secluded and not so populated warehouse/commercial district. It's not the greatest but the space for this restaurant is very clean.

On my way out of Malmö back to Copenhagen, I had wanted to try some smörrebröd. Traditionally,…read moresmörrebröd (Smørrebrød) is Danish in origin, meaning "bread and butter". Basically, it's an open faced sandwich, topped with a few layers of Pålæg (on-lay) from any variety of ingredients. The common factor is it's mainly on rye bread. This shop (Freda) is located in Malmö Centralstation. Convenient, quick, and delicious. It was also affordable. I don't know how accurate my assumptions are, but when I think of Scandinavia, I think of pickled herring (marinerede sild), so thinking this would be the best representation or perhaps traditional of the smörrebröd, I chose this for my first taste. On a slice of rye, there was a small layer of thin potatoes, topped by sliced hard-boiled egg, 4 pieces of pickled herring, garnished with chopped red, white and green onion. The herring was pickled nicely, and had a soft tart taste to it. It meshed with the other toppings nicely and I enjoyed it. It convinced me I had to try it again, other flavors, while I was back in Copenhagen. The one piece of smörrebröd cost about $3, and I also ordered a sparkling water. Service was great, super fast, and I was soon on my way to the train track.

The outdoor seating was pretty packed, and the sandwiches looked amazing, so we decided to try it! I'm so glad we did. Although we didn't see any English menus, we were able to translate the menu on our phones without a problem. We ordered our food inside, and everything was prepared quickly. We ordered three Burrata sandwiches, a jamón sandwich, and an order of fries. Everything was delicious! The sandwiches were very large and packed with fresh ingredients. The fries were crispy and came with some kind of an aioli-like dip. Plenty of outdoor seating at this restaurant and you order inside at the bar using your table number, which you can find at your table. The bathrooms are interestingly covered in sticky notes left behind by previous customers. Very fun to look through!

Luckily, the table was in the shade, so it was a very pleasant temperature and we were able to eat outside. We quickly chose our sandwiches, which honestly all looked great, and did not have to wait long for our food. We ended up ordering burrata sandwiches and a jamón sandwich, as well as 2 orders of fries (which were plenty for the 4 of us). Delicious! The ingredients were fresh, and the food was presented well. Highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a tasty lunch spot!

Our choices for dinner (day before reservation) were seating at 6:15 or earlier or 9:15 or later so reservations well in advance are recommended. We started with cocktails (& they had a few creations) & had a "Buried in Sand" and a "Holy Mule-" Both excellent! Our server was helpful & made some wonderful suggestions once she found out it was our first visit. All the dishes (small & large) are great for sharing. As it seemed a staple of the menu (that changes daily) as well one of their specialties we decided to start with the Bastard Planka. A nice variety of house cured ham, salami, chorizo, pate & pickles-one of the best I've ever had. Also ordered the Klemmings Oysters as our second starter. So fresh, salty & exquisite! For main we ordered the Cod & the Munka Pork (as Pork is their specialty). Cod was cooked to perfection and the Pork had a crust that took it to another level. Both dishes were amazing! We finished with the Pistachio Ice Cream and Paris -Brest. Loved them both but the Paris-Brest is a must try! My only regret is not getting here sooner. Wonderful vibe with great service! They also have a bar area (open kitchen) where you can grab a seat to try some of the entrees or just have a cocktail, beer or glass of wine if they are fully booked. Will definitely be back. Michelin rating well deserved!
