Not sure what people are complaining about. I brought in my my 9 year old bike from sports chalet I'm emotionally attached to. Had it covered with a tarp outside and besides the gear, chain and tires - all other parts had to be replaced. Joey don't only charge me a fair price but had it back to me very quickly. It rides better than I remember and still has many miles for me to enjoy it I recommend this repair shop/ bike shop to anyone

I just picked up my foldable Mini BMW bike from a tune-up and front tire replacement. I paid $125 for the service. I really hate to leave this comment and don't intend to make anybody's business harder. The bike is filthy as it was brought. It is very dusty and dirty. He says they just wiped it. All other shops I have spoked included a full-blown washing of the bike. The chain and gears are still dirty and not lubricated. He says they did put enough lubrication. The image shows how dirty the gears are. I would have loved to the metal shining. They did not lubricate anything else on the bike. He says it is not necessary. But I asked him on the phone multiple times he said they would do everything. The seat was not checked and it needed to be fastened. I could not sit on it on the way back. He said they took a test drive. The rear brake is super tight you can find yourself on the floor as you hit it. The replaced tire looks so cheap and odd it does not fit the nature of this bike and it is not really my complaint here. The reason I brought the bike for tune-up was that the price on the website for the tune-up is $65 and they charged me $80 because he claims the price went up. I can't tell the difference with the gears, they should be fine. But overall I am very dissatisfied with the service. I had inquired with a few other shops before taking the bike here. their price was fair and they included everything this store did not do. I don't have to mention but seems obvious that friendliness does not exist in this store either you speak on the phone or face to face. I am sorry Joey but the service you provided for a tune-up for $80 is not fair at all.

Respect the Retrospec!

Excellent and responsive! Knowledgeable and friendly! I love this spot! I will be referring all of my friends to buy or service their bike or additional equipment here! Best in town!

I was able to look at the helmets in the cupboards in the back that were not on display. There's meter parking in front of the shop. I was ready to…read morepay in full for it, but salesman talked me into the 'Extended Pay' program through Synchrony Bank and the 'Freedom to Ride' program! IF YOU CAN PAY, DO NOT USE THIS PROGRAM!! They automatically give you a credit card, over 30% interest! Before I got any paperwork for the 'free loan' they sent me an unsolicited credit card with interest on that card over 30%! I thought it was an unsolicited credit card so I cut it up and threw it away. Almost instantly, I got daily comments through text messages, why have you not activated your credit card? Your credit card needs to be activated immediately!! I don't want their over 30% credit card!! Followed by texts, counting down days to payment due! When I try and set up account on the Synchrony bank app., to make a payment, I find that without a Synchrony bank account or their credit card, They tell me that they can't find me and no payment can be made at this time. No Credit Card or Checking or Savings account, located with Synchrony. So I call them and get someone with extremely limited English at the Offshore Call Center!! This person tells me that they will only accept payments through the Synchrony Bank. Either mail a check or money order, or my personal bank debit card information. Tried to pay in FULL using my personal debit card, but would not accept payment more than $500.00. I am glad this is a one purchase only transaction, because I will never go back to a business that insists on me using their payment program, instead of letting me go ahead and pay for my purchase at the time of purchase! P.S. I do enjoy the trike, just not the company that I have to make the payments to!! I just won't be going back very soon to this business! I located a shop near me that lubed the squeaks and will do any future repairs I may need. Also, their "chat" is not actually live. They tell you they will contact you in a few minutes, but it's been over hours and I'm still waiting.

Took it for a test ride downstairs where this dude literally re-taught me how to ride a bike in about 5 minutes. Tons of tips, tons of extra info about bikes, equipment, maintenance, etc. The bike itself has turned into an extension of my legs around town and am now already thinking about getting something to go longer distances when I go outside of DTLA. Went in to fix a flat a couple weeks after getting the bike and the maintenance guys were fast and friendly. Great place

I specifically said if the…read morelever couldn't be properly repaired, DO NOT replace it because I already had a replacement coming. About an hour after pickup, the bike completely lost power and went into anti-theft mode. Another battery didn't solve it. I returned asking them to check whether anything could have been accidentally disturbed during the brake work--not to accuse anyone, but to troubleshoot what happened immediately after their repair. Instead, I felt dismissed. Rodney, the person in charge, repeatedly insisted that because they don't do electrical work, they couldn't have contributed to the issue, while talking over my concerns. I later contacted an independent e-bike specialist on my own--not an employee of this shop or someone they referred me to--who repaired the electrical problem. He couldn't conclusively determine the cause, although he said the lever repair could potentially have played a role. What IS certain: the very next day, the brake lever I paid this shop to repair failed badly and had to be replaced. Thankfully, I wasn't going downhill or riding in heavy traffic. I wasn't looking for an admission of guilt. I wanted my concerns taken seriously and a safe, dependable brake repair. Unfortunately, I received neither.
