I encountered this business during the Ciclavia Hollywood event and I was so glad to see a business donate their time, resources & manpower for such an amazing and free event. I think his name was Kim- he worked on tightening my brakes for probably a good 20 minutes. He initially was baffled in trying to determine what was preventing them from working. I felt grateful this man seemed genuinely concerned & thorough, considering he was providing a free service to me. After realizing he couldn't fix whatever the problem was, he asked his helper to take a look. After about 5 minutes, the helper said the the replacement arm or brake was broken. It wasn't broken when I brought it to them. They wish they would've done the right thing and told me they accidentally broke it and would honor a repair. But they didn't. I said thank you for trying and thank you for your time, left them a tip and rode away. I didn't know it was broken until I closely inspected it after riding off. They seemed friendly and helpful, however I felt duped and deceived. read more

My e-bike tire popped off of the rim a couple blocks away from Godspeed. I called the store before they opened as I was panicking since this has never happened to me before. They picked up before opening, asked me what was wrong and gave me an estimate, got a bell and a tire repair for 60$, bell was 15$, they even put the bell on my bike for me! Super grateful for these guys to help me get my Barbie girl back in great condition! Ride felt so much more smoother, everything was in top condition! My husband Matt B. got really into riding his bike last year, so I decided to get him an upgrade for Christmas. This was a great idea because all I had to say was "I want to get you a new bike" and he did all the research. He went to Godspeed Cyclery, a bike shop in walking distance of our house, and conferred with the owner Alex. He decided to get a Trek Checkpoint SL 5 AXS Gen 3 in Trek Black/Matte Carbon Smoke. I know this because it was on the spec sheet Alex printed out for Matt to bring home. I waited until shortly before Christmas then called in the order. This was very easy, and I was told that the bike would arrive in a few days' time. I also decided to get Matt a bike computer as an actual surprise gift. I was about to buy one on Amazon when I thought to call Godspeed, and sure enough, they had several different options in stock. I went in person the week before Christmas and met Alex, who was super nice and helpful. Godspeed was spacious and well stocked, with tons of bikes and related products. There was a whole back area I didn't even see, where the shop must handle repairs. I bought the high-end bike computer Alex recommended, with an assurance that Matt could return it if he didn't actually want or need an expensive gadget. I paid for the bike computer and the bike together, and Alex threw in a few accessories on the house: two water bottle holders and a portable bike pump, I think all of them also by Trek. I took the bike computer home and wrapped it immediately, with our four-year-old son Leo B. sniffing around, asking about the present while his dad was within earshot upstairs. I said I'd tell him if he piped down and kept it a secret, and he readily agreed. The next day, I overheard the following conversation: Leo: There are so many presents! Matt: But Leo, you know not all of them are for you. Some are for Wade, some are for Mommy, some are for Daddy... Leo: I know! I got you a bike computer! So much for surprises, but Matt was quite happy with his gifts. He's been riding his new bike almost every day, and the bike computer appears to be an excellent toy. We were both pleased with the service and friendly neighborhood feel of Godspeed Cyclery. We'll definitely come back for repairs and any other bike-related needs. read more

Fast and friendly service! Cost: stereotypical 40 bucks (20 / tube) to get both tubes changed out. I can do it myself, but so much easier and personally I feel better when it's done professionally lol We will absolutely be back read more

I really like this bicycle shop. They fix my bicycle at a very reasonable price, and do it promptly. I highly recommend them.

Best bike shop in the city! Fast, fair, communicative. Great service and selection. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my bike.

This shop is awesome Diego is the man great repair services best prices around don't even bother with any other shop

This bike shop is so awesome. Today my 8 year old daughter had a flat rear tire at CICLAVIA in Ktown about halfway through the route, and this bike shop fixed her flat for free. They were volunteering their services and they purposely brought kids size 20" inner tube replacements because they want kids to have a great experience riding today and fall in love with cycling. My daughter was able to finish the entire route because of them. read more

Just want to update this and say I'm so grateful for this bike shop in ktown. I've taken my Ninebot here for several things, most recently a replacement of the back wheel. The Segway shop in Culver City said there was a one month turnaround time. Godspeed did it perfectly for the same price in less than 6 hours. They've always been super honest and fair, and they have a great expertise I've come to trust. Really happy they are in the neighborhood. read more

I brought my folding e-bike in because it was jammed in the folded position. They quickly got to working on it and unjammed it by removing the pedal, plus they adjusted a few other things so that it's less likely to happen in the future. My visit to this shop was short and sweet: I was greeted by an employee who took me to Alex in the back. He really is as friendly as other reviewers have stated. I explained the problems I was facing with my road bike and he immediately got to work on it. No more than 15 minutes later he had given my rear derailleur an indexing adjustment, inspected both my pedals, reinstalled said pedals after adjusting them, changed the tension of my rear brakes to match my front brakes, and shortened the lengthy, cable end stops on both my front and rear derailleurs (these had been super long since I last got my cables replaced). I will be taking my bike to this shop for servicing in the future! read more

Good service, great price, but parking is a pain. These guys are quick, honest and helpful.

These guys provide excellent service. I highly recommend them for any bikes you wish to purchase, even ebikes and emotos!

Guys at Godspeed are great mechanics. I take my Trek Domane there for all my servicing needs. Very well stocked bike shop!

Brought my road bike in for service and it was discovered there was a recall for the crank on my Shimano Ultegra comps. Diego and the staff were very communicative and reported everything my bike needed. I got my bicycle quicker than expected and it is running great. I am an REI member but I will be bringing my bike here for any future repairs. Gotta support the neighborhood mom and pops businesses. A+ service all around. read more

Kim and Manny were awesome. Definitely coming here for now on. They really took care of me and my wife. Fantastic guys!!!

Thank goodness I found Godspeed Cyclery. Although not nearly the closest to my home in Encino, I'll drive to mid-Wilshire area for their knowledge, sincerity, friendliness and quality of service. Their overall attitude was so refreshing and made me nostalgic for days gone by! My finding Godspeed was sort of a fluke; I was directed there by a bike manufacturer's website (Trek) which showed they were one of the few stores in the area that carried the bike in which I was interested in possibly purchasing. I ventured to their store, which is relatively small compared to many of the bike stores that I've been to; the size of the store is misleading, however. They have an amazing inventory of road and mountain bikes, plus an extensive inventory of parts and accessories. When I came to Godspeed, I spoke with Brian, who inquired about the type of riding that I did. We discussed and I mentioned the model that I was interested in; Brian told me that I could buy that bike, but that I would probably do better (because of my interests) in a different (but similar priced) model. He wasn't even sure if they had it in stock, but said if they didn't they could get it. He wasn't trying to upsell me, he was trying to do what was best for me, and I appreciated that. It turned out that they did have the "better fit" bike in stock, but it had to be built. So I said I'd like to get that, and Brian said that they would build it and I could come back later that day and pick it up...he didn't ask for a deposit, he just took me at my word. When I came back to pick up the bike, I met Alex, the owner. He was friendly and clearly appreciates his customers. He, and Brian, were just as attentive upon my return to the shop and had assembled the bike beautifully. Alex asked me to come back after 2-3 rides, so they could adjust things and ensure that the bike performed up to its capability. Again, a throw-back to a different era. Yesterday morning, after the third ride since my purchase two weeks ago, I brought the bike in for its adjustment, and they actually remembered me! Alex, Brian and another gentleman working on a bike in the service area, all chatted with me while working on my and other bikes. Alex personally checked and adjusted the bike's many components. No charge. These guys are the real deal. Old-fashioned service, new technology, up-to-the-minute model inventory. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! If I could give six stars I would! Thank you Alex, Brian, et. al! read more

This was the year I decided to finally take the plunge and pick up a bicycle. Now for someone who hasn't ridden a bike since childhood, this was a daunting task. Plus, I'm above average height and size, 6'5" 270lbs. I'd need a special kind of bike to hold my frame, and not feel cramped. When I walked into Godspeed Cyclery I was greater by wall to wall bikes, accessories and a fantastic salesman, Kim. He knew exactly what I needed, allowed me to test ride several bikes and was very patient with my elementary questions. His zero pressure approach allowed me to go home, do my research and come back well informed. Fast forward a couple of hours, I walked (We'll rode) out of the shop with a fantastic Trek Dual Sport 2, in my size and all the accessories I'd need to get started. Two weeks into my cycling journey, I came back for a check up. The bike had a few minor adjustments, and I was back on the road. Oh and did I mention it was free of charge? If you're in the need to get on your cycling journey, do not hesitate to step into Godspeed Cyclery and roll out a star. read more

Can't recommend this bicycle shop in Koreatown highly enough. I needed a bike helmet and a front light. The family who runs it was so sweet and patient with me while I tried on and asked for pricing on just about every helmet. I was sticking with the lower price points but you wouldn't know it from the excellent and attentive service. I also arrived not far from closing but they graciously stayed open a little late for me, didn't bring it up once, and didn't rush me out the door at all. After I chose my helmet and bike light they asked me if there was anything else I might want and it turns out I did. I also walked out with the cutest little bike bell. They've got an amazing selection and a price point range for any budget. Truly a little neighborhood spot. I'd go back there myself and recommend it to others in a heartbeat. read more

I was shopping for a new bike and Kim was super friendly and nice throughout my experience (FYI I have no knowledge of bikes and I visited 3 other bike shops before I came to this one). He was super patient and was able to accommodate all my preferences for a new bike. He was not pushy about selling any of their products. They were just honest about the prices. He even showed me different types of bike locks that fit my budget, but also shared with my the pros/cons of each lock. They have a good selection of bikes (which is good bc we are currently in a bike shortage). He had a variety of helmets in different price ranges. They were in stock with locks/lights. I would totally recommend coming to this shop if you need a quick fix up or looking to start a new hobby. read more

Alex is the MAN!!!! I bought my first Domane bike on Father's Day at GSC. Alex stayed after closing time for a fitting by adusting the handle bars and seat for me. He was so helpful and patient. He never tried any pressure sales tactics. I went to a few other authorized Trek retailers, but GSC provided the best experience hands down. His wife is such a nice lady as well. I believe her name is Michelle. They asked me to go back in 2 weeks to adjust any cables and wires if necessary once I break the bike in. They will be my go-to bike shop from now on. read more

This Review is LONG OVERDUE. Don't be SKEPTICAL, best bike shop in LA and I promise you, you will become a regular here (like I did). I found this place through yelp + plus my friends who are regulars at this store. To start off, I always loved cycling and wanted to seriously get back into it after a long break. The shop owner Alex is a very honest gentlemen who won't upsale you or recommend bikes that does not cater to your "fit". He also, help me get my first lycra kit, as well as my first cleats and pedals. BTW, fitment is CRUCIAL for cycling, because it can prevent aches, soreness, joint pain, or any muscle imbalances that may cause injury while riding. He assesses your physical structure and gives recommendations on the types of bikes within the spectrum of the clients "wants". This way, we can enjoy the bike for a long time while riding our hearts out. I personally got fitted here for two of my bikes and while getting fitted, Alex was kindly educating me on how my body is structured for different styles of riding. Alex never rushed the process and answered all of the questions I had (and I asked alot... lol). **SPOILER ALERT*** They have the best selection of TREK and BIANCHI, so do not miss out on it. They go out FAST I will definately be purchasing my 3rd bike in the future from this shop (once I save a bit more ha!) You can never have too many bikes.. Once again, Thank You to Alex for giving me two perfect fitment and offering so much knowledge about cycling!! read more

This bike shop is excellent, came all the way from Boyle Heights after being overquoted and having lost days of precious time for a simple quote at my closer shop Coco's in Silverlake. Everything came out to only $260 at Godspeed, when I was quoted over $600 Coco's and months of wait time for the same exact thing. I needed my bike upgraded from a broken 5-speed internal Stormie Archer hub (these hubs suck) to a 7 speed Shimano, added a new rear brake and had the rear wheel rebuilt with new spokes to keep the integrity of my unique wheels. I initially dropped my bike off at Coco's for a diagnosis and they kept it for several days before getting back to me with an over $600 quote, asking me to bring it back in a few months once the quarantine was lifted in order to work on it because they didn't have the capacity for such an extensive job. Godspeed diagnosed everything and ordered all parts in front of me within 20 minutes of drop off, and I had my bike back in 1 week for only $260! This is all during the quarantine. Staff was knowledgeable, friendly, exhibited social distancing and face coverings, and all-around dope. I definitely recommend Godspeed cyclery. read more
