The food sold in Butler's however is a lot better than the shop itself suggests, with them offering a good selection of pastries, sausage rolls and pies at cheap prices for anyone heading to or from the train station. They also sell sandwiches in various shapes and sizes, with a range of fillings on offer there all for a reasonably cheap price (and a lot fresher tasting than your local Subway). They also do a very nice cooked breakfast there; for those of you up early enough, I strongly recommend it. There is a very local, home run feel about the place which is nice (last time I went in the woman couldn't quite remember the cost of my sandwich so just accepted two pounds), but there are better places close by.

There are also a few different pastas and salads on offer at Rumbles if you don't fancy one of their sandwiches, meaning it is a great place to go grab a quick bite to eat on your lunch break, although it's location isn't great as it's a bit removed from the busier Maghull square area.
