They served up a fantastic matcha latte, and Liz got a cappuccino. I thought this place was a fine place to eat breakfast, or if we wanted to get a coffee or tea to go. Liz and 'Em had pancakes... although it looked like smaller portions they were filled quickly. I had a morning brekkie with meat, which came with toast, bacon, a small tub of beans, roasted tomato and spinach, and toasted eggs. It was all pretty delicious. The server offered sauces (hot sauce or ketchup). I was pretty content with the food. All types of folks come in and all are treated the same. If you're up around the area - or on the way to the World Museum, stop by.

My friends and I were greeted very warmly as we arrived and got to choose where to sit. Then we ordered at the counter. You can see everything being made there. All items used are local, which I love. There are vegan and vegetarian options as well. Cute little menu with the right amount of stuff on their for breakfast or lunch. They also have cakes! Variety of toasts, bagels, French toast, coffees, teas, other drinks. Everything at great prices! I always leave that place satisfied and with happy tummy!

They prefer you make an appointment, mostly so they have a table big enough for all of your goodies (should you choose to have the proper afternoon tea, which includes lots of different items). We arrived on Friday for our reservation at 1 pm and there were two or three other groups there. The place is charming, with that homemade feel. They offer several options for afternoon tea, ranging from about £5 for a cake/scone and tea, to around £15 for the finger foods and lunch options. I opted for the former and had a scone with grapes (they were out of plain scones) and lemon ginger tea. My wife had the same scone with chamomile. We were both very impressed with the quality of the food and the lovely service we were given. They have more than just tea. They make proper cakes and serve breakfast and lunch, as well as offer unique specials. This is place is a must try!

This is a hipster brunch cafe based on American diner bites meets Canadian hunting lodge decor…read more There's quirky moose decor all over including funny military historic portraits made over with moose faces. The menu is massive featuring many variations on Eggs Benedict served on a bagel, plus pancakes, waffles, French toast, and other hearty American breakfast bites. They also serve more brunch bites like sandwiches, burgers and breakfast burritos. I ordered the Fab Five Freddy which was a sandwich with a hamburger patty, pulled pork and an egg on top, served with their potato hash, a grilled tomato and a dill pickle. It was delicious. I also ordered the chocolate and peanut butter milk shake (£3), which was delicious but could have been colder and thicker. My fiance ordered the breakfast burrito which I tried a bite of, which had way more fillings than a standard California breakfast burrito like olives, but it was really good too. His family came with us and loved their dishes too; they've been before and took us here. The only downside is this place is popular meaning when we came, they were out of a lot of items like French toast, waffles, bagels (and most of the menu items are served on a bagel), and a few other items too. Plus, they tout their specials of the day, so I asked about those, but the special was... They're out of a lot of things! Plus, we ordered a dime bar milk shake, and the waitress returned to say they are out of daim bars too.

Maybe if you milk a moose, coffee comes out. Somehow I doubt it, though. When I first saw Moose Coffee, I expected it to be just another Starbucks or Nero clone, offering posy coffee flavoured milkshakes at expensive prices. However, when I actually ventured inside and looked at the menu, I realised that perhaps my assumptions were wide of the mark. Offering an 'American diner influenced breakfast and brunch experience', Moose Coffee has a fairly decent selection of hot drinks available for your enjoyment without going to mocha-locca-latte-crazy like its rivals. They also offer a small selection of fruit juices and milkshakes, all of which are reasonably priced and refreshing. Their breakfast menu offers a wide variety of interesting takes on the traditional English cooked breakfast, including the 'Smoked Moose' (scrambled eggs and salmon) and the 'New York Moose' (eggs Benedict), all of which pose an attractive alternative to toast or cereal. Their breakfast prices are perhaps a little more expensive than your usual greasy spoon, but Moose Coffee is well worth a visit if you're in the area.

From what we learned, Moose is a small chain around the UK, and known for its hearty North American-inspired menu. Definitely true - the menu had plenty of US classics like benedicts, pancakes, waffles, and hash dishes. I was actually surprised by how many things were available, as the cafe itself wasn't all that big. Small enough even that we couldn't even get a seat inside! No problem at all though, as we were instead able to sit in their outside area which lined a cute cobblestone alley, adjacent to some shops. I've said it before, and I'll say it again for the typical American traveler... in England, do NOT expect service to be what you're used to. You'll certainly wait to be tended too, and the visits from a server are very limited. In no way do I mean this as a complaint, it's actually kind of nice to not feel rushed and practice patience :) All in all, the staff who did take care of us were very sweet! My husband had an americano and I enjoyed my flat white (I swear I've loved every coffee I've ever had during England trips). For food I got the lula puebla, which was a fancy avo toast. The smashed avocado was fresh and well-seasoned, and the toasted sourdough it was smeared across was so thick and delicious. Even more delicious was the chipotle chilli jam that came atop of it. It also had feta, chilli flakes, and two poached eggs. I was definitely a fan! My husband also really liked his eggs benedict that included griddled Serrano ham. I know, I know, travel all this way only to have a US-style breakfast but hey it did the trick! Wouldn't hesitate to pop in another Moose location in the future.

Right downtown Liverpool, near just about everything, and just a few blocks from River Mersey. We walked here after the actual wedding down the street at City Hall, which was perfect. I learned while there that this building is a former bank. It's since been polished with fresh flooring, pendant lights, light paint colors and an overall airy-feel. Even after all of the wedding reception dinner tables were put out, there was still plenty of space to hang out and mingle. Off to the far-side is a full service bar as well, and let me tell ya they make dang good espresso martinis (which I needed for the jet lag)! You'll find bathrooms tucked downstairs and they are oh so cute, with fun and colorful decor. You can tell photo-ops happen there :) But the real treat of it all is the rooftop with stunning view of River Mersey and the city skyline. Sounds like they do afternoon tea (how English of them, lol!) and plenty of other events here too!

Something that had been on my wish list for years, and Oh Me Oh My seemed to be the best spot. With teas from Liverpool-based Leaf and the pretty atmosphere we already experienced when being in the building the day before, this was a definite hit. We payed £ 16 p.p. for afternoon tea, with as much different tea as we wanted and lots of different tasty goods - both sweet and salty. It's also possible to add prosecco for I thought £ 4. What we ate? Sandwiches (with hummus - instead of salmon, egg and cream cheese), toast, scones with jam and clotted cream, brownie, lemon cake and crème brûlée with shortbread. More than enough for a proper lunch - we enjoyed every single bit, but absolutely had enough. Oh Me Oh My - the perfect afternoon tea (or lunch)-place.
