This place shows great movies, and still really has a TON of the charm that unfortunately, the music box and other places have lost, plus even without having the newest electronic seats that other theaters brag about, the seats here are actually really comfy. I saw the Blackhawks win a Stanley Cup there a decade ago and have vivid memories of the crowd spilling out of the theater onto Milwaukee Avenue to celebrate. But honestly, this place is TRASH as a movie theater. The screens are uniformly way too dark. Go see a vivid superhero movie and it looks like it was shot through a dark scrim. That's OK, though. The sound will deafen you even as you see nothing but a dark grey muddle. The cheapness extends to the amenities. They use nasty-ass bottom-of-the-barrel liquid soap in their bathrooms. Have a slash, wash your hands, continue eating your popcorn and congrats -- you now get to eat soap-flavored popcorn. The horrific synthetic small of this pink industrial slime will not leave your fingers for DAYS. Were you hoping that a neighborhood movie theater would have staff on hand to control the feral moviegoers talking on their phones and causing a ruckus during your film's climax? Haha, good luck with that. The AMC a mile away on Western is one of the worst places I have ever seen a movie. What frustrates me about the Logan is that it COULD be GREAT ... but simply isn't. All because they're cheap about their projection equipment and basic amenities.

I didn't get a chance to watch anything in the big theater, but I was nevertheless impressed by the theater's old-school vibe. The ornate atmosphere really heightened the appealing vibe, and the friendly, helpful staff was also very much appreciated. I did wind up ordering popcorn, and while it was pretty expensive for such a small bag, the popcorn tasted fresh and it wasn't too salty, either. The Music Box is definitely a pretty cool place. I'm sure I'd be a regular if I lived in the area.

I went to AMC in block 37 to see the Michael movie. The location is very convenient right in the…read moreloop so it was easy to walk there from my place. It is on the 4th floor and there are lots of signs to guide you to the correct location. When I went over the weekend the elevators weren't working so I had to take the escalators. I was able to buy my movie ticket on the AMC website and there was no line to have the staff scan my ticket to get in. There are kiosks that make it super easy to order your popcorn and they even have a bar in there. The bartender told us each drink comes with 3 shots so my friend got a margarita and she said it was really good! The large popcorn was tasty. I was able to add extra butter to it and get a free refill so I could share with my friend. Next time I go I will just order the regular popcorn as I had a lot left over. The seats in the AMC theater are recliners which were really comfortable. I will come back to this theater next time I want to see a movie!

The theater I went to was very clean and the reclining chair was warm and comfortable. Wait staff was courteous. I ordered my ticket online on their website and there were no problems with it. I loved that I could order a tall glass of water. THANK YOU for that. I haven't been to many places that just offer water that isn't in a plastic bottle. Viewers were very respectful. The theater was dead quiet through the whole movie and everyone followed the rules. Good vibe, good crowd. Good size screen and good arrangement. I can't wait to come back. I might even be back tomorrow. Best cinema experience I've had, and the best viewing crowd I've been in too. While the manager, Phil, was very kind and understanding, even comping me a free screening of a film last week, the fact is that three weeks and no refund is unacceptable. Yet what's really gotten my goat is the Alamo's sudden change in food ordering policy, by which orders are now processed via mobile app during the screening, which defeats the whole point of the Alamo's "no phones" policy and is clearly just a way for the company to avoid employing food workers. Can't support that. Honestly, just go to the Davis. Beautiful location, better value, and if the theater cancels your screening they will actually refund your money.

I liked: -local theatre -kinda cute decorations -movie experience was comfortable I didn't like: -that the staff looked like they hated working there and weren't very friendly -the house made cocktails weren't good -the popcorn was dry -they gave very little cheese for the nachos -it wasn't open seating even though it's an older theatre -the entrance is odd and we didn't even recognize that it was a movie theatre at first -we ubered but the parking situation did not seem ideal
