It's the comfort station. It's cool and in Logan, you can chill there, and there's art there sometimes... what's not to like about that!

I love walking to the movies from my house in Logan Square. I have lots of fun at trivia night. The…read morelate-night repertory programming is super! I saw the Blackhawks win a Stanley Cup there a decade ago and have vivid memories of the crowd spilling out of the theater onto Milwaukee Avenue to celebrate. But honestly, this place is TRASH as a movie theater. The screens are uniformly way too dark. Go see a vivid superhero movie and it looks like it was shot through a dark scrim. That's OK, though. The sound will deafen you even as you see nothing but a dark grey muddle. The cheapness extends to the amenities. They use nasty-ass bottom-of-the-barrel liquid soap in their bathrooms. Have a slash, wash your hands, continue eating your popcorn and congrats -- you now get to eat soap-flavored popcorn. The horrific synthetic small of this pink industrial slime will not leave your fingers for DAYS. Were you hoping that a neighborhood movie theater would have staff on hand to control the feral moviegoers talking on their phones and causing a ruckus during your film's climax? Haha, good luck with that. The AMC a mile away on Western is one of the worst places I have ever seen a movie. What frustrates me about the Logan is that it COULD be GREAT ... but simply isn't. All because they're cheap about their projection equipment and basic amenities.

Also all the old movie posters and old projector in the lobby really takes you back.

It can get packed on the weekends but ticket check in is still a fast and easy process. There were multiple women's bathroom stalls that ran out of toilet paper. I recommend checking the toilet paper before using the stall. Seems like they might be understaffed due to bathroom not being stocked and the concessions stands line are usually long.

I love that AMC does Ghibli Fest every year! Finally watched My Neighbor Totoro, and having the…read morestandard movie theater experience made it very enjoyable. Check online for showtimes, they rotate the movies each year and only show them for a few days throughout the year. Parking was a breeze, and you can get a great view of the skyline and of the retail area. The movie finished around sunset so we got to soak in the gorgeous views! Validated parking is $2 for 3 hours. Concessions are typical price for big box movies, $15 beer hits better in a theater I suppose. They had a couple Hazy IPAs on draft and the bartender was really friendly. The seats are the old cushion seats (not the newer reclining leather seats like in some AMCs). It was comfortable enough and clean as those types of seats can be. Usually I expect the movie theater to blast AC but it was actually quite warm inside. There was a note on the ticket that said trailers are 25-30 minutes long. However for this showing they started the intro credits about 8 minutes after the listed showtime. They had multiple gender neutral restrooms (single stalls) which were clean. While the seats weren't the most up to date, I would still go back! They have a deal for 50% off tickets on Tuesday and Wednesday which is pretty good, if you become a free member (Ghibli movie was excluded). Also 50% off small combos Tues/Wed with member QR code.

I was looking…read moreforward to trying their loaded fries, but I ordered a shake and cocktail instead and the quality was excellent on those, so no complaints. The theater I went to was very clean and the reclining chair was warm and comfortable. Wait staff was courteous. I ordered my ticket online on their website and there were no problems with it. I loved that I could order a tall glass of water. THANK YOU for that. I haven't been to many places that just offer water that isn't in a plastic bottle. Viewers were very respectful. The theater was dead quiet through the whole movie and everyone followed the rules. Good vibe, good crowd. Good size screen and good arrangement. I can't wait to come back. I might even be back tomorrow. Best cinema experience I've had, and the best viewing crowd I've been in too. A tip for when you're ordering: When the movie started, it was too dark in the theater to scan the QR code again. Thankfully I could get the tab screen back up. Do not close your browser window on your phone so you can go back to it if you want to order more!

While the manager, Phil, was very kind and understanding, even comping me a free screening of a film last week, the fact is that three weeks and no refund is unacceptable. Yet what's really gotten my goat is the Alamo's sudden change in food ordering policy, by which orders are now processed via mobile app during the screening, which defeats the whole point of the Alamo's "no phones" policy and is clearly just a way for the company to avoid employing food workers. Can't support that. When a company straight up steals from you, it's time to stop giving it your business.

The building is pretty unassuming on the outside and looks a lot smaller than it actually is. Once you're in, the main space indoors is a big open bar with some tables/booths and places to sit but also a lot of standing room. There is a big drink menu that is projected onto the wall that is pretty beer heavy, but there are some other options for non beer drinkers! I got a jalapeno ranch water that was really good. There is a large patio space that looks so fun for the summer. The concert venue is in the back. It's pretty small, but perfect for more intimate shows. We had so much fun!! This place really is such a gem, and I can't wait to come back for some drinks on the patio when the weather warms up.

We sat at the bar, because it's my default settings or my AuDHD need for routine. Very attentive bartender who greeted us right as we sat down. I'll be honest. I ordered a gin and tonic. My estimation is that this G&T was 75% tonic. I didn't say anything because I don't know what to say. I also do not like confrontation. The venue itself is fantastic! We were there to see KING MALA. ADORE EVERYTHING ABOUT HERE. My boyfriend sprung for VIP tickets. I have no money but meeting her was amazing. Highly recommend seeing a chow here. Intimate, great sound, and a bar inside who made me an on point G&T!
