Bethany is an incredible florist and a dream to work with! I found her from my planners recommendation (Coco & Whim) and fell in love with her work on her Instagram page and knew I had to have her for my wedding. My wedding theme was very romantic & whimsical with colors of dusty blue, white, and blush. I knew from the beginning I wanted a floral arch, rose petals down the aisle, and full centerpieces. Bethany made it all happen within our budget and everything turned out gorgeous! I also want to mention that I planned my wedding originally for May 9, 2020, but with COVID-19, I ended up having to postpone two months prior. Bethany was very understanding as everyone was having to postpone at that time and she immediately rescheduled my date for September 2020. It was a nightmare to have to postpone my special day, and I felt even worse for wedding vendors and florists. It was rough on everyone, but Bethany stayed strong during this whole thing as we knew we would all be back. However, we ended up having to postpone the September date as well to May 16, 2021. As hard and as difficult as this was, it was worth the wait. Not only did I get to know Bethany on a personal level during this time, but the masterpieces she created for our special day were heavenly. We cried when we finally got to see each other in person and she seemed just as happy as we were that our special day was finally here. During the entire process, she was professional, helpful, friendly, and in constant communication. She is quick to reply to an email, text, or even some of my late-night IG messages inquiring about different candles and pedestals. She provided the florals (circular arch, petals, centerpieces, florals for champagne cart, sweetheart table, photobooth, boutonnieres, bouquets, corsages), but also the taper and pillar candles, candle holders, and more. I was worried about the lack of peonies that I wanted due to a shortage at the time, but I completely trusted Bethany and her work and she did not disappoint. What she created was beyond my expectations. I wish I could keep them forever! I couldn't find someone to preserve my bouquet at the time, but I am hoping to recreate it for our anniversary and get it preserved then I would definitely hire Bethany for any and all special events! read more

Originally, I had planned on making the flower arrangements for my wedding the night before with the help of my bridesmaids. My mom quickly ousted that idea, and I'm so glad she did. But, that decision proved to be difficult as most floral shops were closed for our July 4th wedding. When I contacted Bethany however, she reassured me that we could make it happen, as long as we did the pick up which was perfect for us as we didn't have any arrangements that required excessive setup on site. While I love flowers, I'm very picky, and don't like very bright colors or hydrangeas. Upon my first consultation with Haley, she was quick to pick up on my vision for what I wanted and what I did not. She made sure to write "NO HYDRANGEAS" on all of the paperwork, and she put my worries at ease when I found that she could make all my wants happen while staying within budget. Even better! Our flowers came out beautifully, the only issue was that there was an issue with one of the employees. The employee was hired to deal with Wedgewood accounts and she was not communicative and lost an order for an additional bouquet we ordered (it was the bouquet for the bouquet toss, not one of the bridesmaids bouquets or my bouquet). The employee was subsequently fired, but that was our only issue We upgraded a lot from the original Wedgewood package and were happy with what we got. Although I love Bethany's work, I found her very difficult to get ahold of. We corresponded over email a few times before meeting in person for our consultation. It was the first florist that I had contacted for my wedding so I had no idea how much it would cost. I gave her a budget range of $3000 but it went over more so I wanted to work with her possibly make the bouquets and centerpieces smaller. Anyway I may have offended her because she didn't respond to my emails after that. It was for the best because I found another florist (Tularosa Flowers) that I absolutely love working with. I spent more than budgeted but I wouldn't do anything different if I could do it again. Again I do love Bethany's work and I thought she was sweet when I met her at the consultation. I just wish she had been a little more professional. She should have communicated with me if didn't want to take on the job..at least call me back to discuss. read more

I was hesitant to write this review because I am positive Bethany hates me. However, I feel that I have something to say, so here it is. Splendid sentiments was included in our Venue at Wedgewood Fallbrook so we were required to use them. My wedding flowers were AMAZING. They were more amazing than I ever thought that they would be. On the flowers alone, Splendid Sentiments EXCEEDED my expectations in every way. Bethany and her team are true artists and my jaw dropped when I saw my bouquet. It was more beautiful than anything I had been dreaming of on Pinterest and it brought tears to my eyes. If you're looking for amazing flowers, this truly is the place to go. With that being said, I think there are some improvements to be made. Phone contact with Splendid sentiments is not easy. We had called several times to ask questions or ask our balance before coming in to pay and we no one ever answered and we did not receive returned calls. It was easier for my husband to go down to the store than get anyone on the phone. Additionally, We were told that our balance could only be paid in cash. EXACT change. My husband had to go to the bar next door to get the exact 53 cents needed to pay our balance with them. We found that to be a bit annoying and would prefer a credit card option. The confusing thing was that they let us pay our deposit with a credit card... so it was a bit different. Finally, We never signed anything the day of our appointment. We were not handed a contract, asked to sign and return it and we were not told any "terms & conditions" on the day of. We did not leave with a contract stating what we requested including our balance owed or anything. On the day of our wedding, our centerpieces were so gorgeous that I wanted to share them with family and friends. Since I did not know if we were able to take them or not, I asked our banquet Captain at our venue if they were ours to take. He asked If we got them through their vendor, if we paid for them etc. Which I responded, yes. He said that he assumed we could take them and never mentioned to leave anything behind. As our wedding was coming to an end, a representative from Splendid sentiments came to pick up the vases. This was after some of my family had left, with the centerpieces which included the short wooden vases. At that time, Zach, our banquet captain told us, "The woman from the florist is here to pick up the vases, you weren't supposed to take them." This was the first time that we had heard this. From anyone. I am NOT a rule breaker so at that time, this gave me a TON of anxiety. I was pretty much freaking out as I was supposed to be running out to my wedding night. That night, my husband tried to put me at ease saying everything would work out. I tried to put it on the back burner because I had more important things to think about and enjoy- like my honeymoon the next day. The day after our wedding, we flew to Cabo for our 8 day honeymoon. The day we left, while I was on the plane, I received a call from Bethany. I did not receive it as my voicemail was not working in Mexico. The next day, Tuesday, I received another call from Bethany telling me that I owed her $280 for the vases that I had taken. She told me that it clearly stated in my contract that I was not to take them. I told Bethany I had never received a contract. To that I was told that they e-mail the contracts to you after your appointment. Well, I never received mine. She then forwarded me my contract and this was the first time I had ever seen it. There is was at the bottom, that the vases belonged to splendid sentiments. This was the first time I had ever heard this and I was on my honeymoon. The catch was, I had never signed this contract. So, how was I to know that this was their policy? Honestly, an Unsigned contract is only a piece of paper without my signature, it means nothing. So Bethany really had no leg to stand on in upholding it. But, she tried. Wednesday of my honeymoon came along and I received another call AND e-mail from Bethany. After having anxiety about this for two full days of my honeymoon, I was done. Bethany knew I was on my honeymoon and she didn't care. This couldn't have waited until 7 days later when I got home and wasn't trying to enjoy the first few days with my new husband? I finally called my venue who had required I use Splendid sentiments in the first place. By this time, I was in tears. They were furious. They strictly told Bethany not to contact me until after I returned from my honeymoon. I told them "my side of the story" and also that I would have NEVER taken the vases if I knew that I wasn't supposed to. I would have never intended for the relationship to end this way and I was devastated. My venue told me that they would handle it from there, which I assume they did because I have not heard from Bethany since. Again, Amazing work, just make sure to do your due diligence and I am sure everything will work out. read more

Bethany is super sweet and upon meeting her I instantly fell in love with her style, so of course, I booked her for my wedding. Well, my special day came around and on the day before, she called to tell me that the little pawns (forget what they are called) that I wanted in my bouquet are out of season and she couldn't put those in, but she had faux ones. Needless to say, the faux ones looked NOTHING like the ones I wanted. I was annoyed. AND not to mention, she is a florist... don't you think she should have known that they would be out of season? I booked her a good 6 months out from my wedding. It would have been one thing if they looked the same but they didn't whatsoever. I wish I could post a picture to show the difference. Also, I wanted a gorgeous design going down the aisle with lovely flower petals. Well, she comes on upstairs while I am getting ready explaining to me that it is windy and that she cannot do more than just put them to side of the aisle. Okay, BUT... there were barely any petals on the side. The thing is, it was my wedding day, I had enough to worry about, but now I look at my pictures and I am beyond mortified about the fact that she skimped on the flowers down the aisle. Also, the pictures she showed me of what the curly willow would look like down my aisle and on the archway is NOTHING like how it was on the day. She skimped! Lastly, I was supposed to have a tossing bouquet. Instead, I was stuck throwing my $200 bouquet. Luckily, my darling little sister caught it and it wasn't torn to shreds. When Bethany came later that evening to pick up the vases, I told her about that because at the time, that was the annoyance I needed to bring up and she said, "You should have thrown one of the bridesmaids bouquets". Are you serious? How about "I am so sorry". Okay, yes, I am giving Bethany 3 stars even though my review sounds like I didn't like her as my florist. But, the thing is, there are some things I loved -- the manzanita trees that I wanted looked amazing and she did a great job. Also, the other centerpieces were lovely/just as I wanted. She cut me a super great deal for the flowers I wanted and honestly, you do get what you pay for. I have learned that now. And she was overwhelmed with the fact that she had a lot of weddings on the weekend I got married. That is understandable, but mine was the first of the bunch, so I thought maybe she would put a little more time into my wedding. Overall, make sure you go into every detail with Bethany. I think if I told her how much I wanted and my expectations, the price wouldn't be so amazing, but I would have seen what I wanted to see. I wish I didn't put so much into her hands... My expectations were set too high. For the price though, you cannot go wrong. For what I paid and what I got, I did luck out. read more

I had a vision for my wedding, but I was having difficulty describing it in floral terms. During our first meeting with Bethany, I was impressed by her ability to listen to what I was hoping for and come up with additional ideas that complimented our vision. "Ok," I thought to myself. "This woman gets what we're going for." However, I still was not prepared for the sheer brilliance that was the final product. When the flowers for the wedding party arrived at my parents' house the morning of our wedding, I was speechless. My mom and I just couldn't believe that someone had been able to take my vision for our day (or my jumbled attempts to describe that vision) plus my mom and wedding coordinator's thoughts as my proxies (wedding in San Diego, I live in NYC) and translate it into such incredible arrangements. The bouquets and the moms' corsages were truly perfect. I still, somehow, was not prepared for the beauty that awaited us at the church. Bethany and her team had accentuated an already stunning space in a way that complimented the openness and simplicity of the church and even enhanced its natural beauty. When I peered into the space before the ceremony I was in tears. I couldn't wait to walk down that aisle. And yet, I was still unprepared for the fantastic arrangements at our reception venue. Everything was exactly how I would have wished it could I have chosen any flowers at any wedding in the world. I think this surprised me as we were trying to not go over the top with our flower budget. What Bethany did within our budget was incredible. We made so many wonderful memories that day and can't believe our wonderful luck at having such a great artist be a part of our wedding. Bethany is extremely talented at what she does. During our first meeting with her she was able to put all of our ideas into actual designs. She was able to portray the tropical atmosphere that we wanted, while working with our limited budget. All of the bouquets, especially mine, were gorgeous. And the boutonnieres were very beautiful and unique. The only reason I did not give a full 5 stars is because apparently my bouquet had painted flowers in it, and the paint was falling off and sticking all over my skin. Words are totally inadequate to describe how I felt when I saw all the beautiful florals Bethany created for my dauther's wedding! I watched from the bride's room as the outdoor arbor went up. The time and dedication to every detail was amazing...and then walking down the aisle and taking in everything together was unbelievable. Sitting in the front row and looking at my beautiful daughter standing under that gorgeous creation and chandelier was almost heart stopping it was all so spectacular! Once inside the hotel, it was like a visual feast! The beautiful tree above the escort cards, the floral enhanced birdcage for cards, the moss base that held the cake were all perfection. And then....the ballroom! I just had to hold back tears! It was all so magnificent! I have never seen a more beautiful room...and all due to Bethany's creative genius. Beside the fantastic centerpieces, everywhere I turned I was thrilled with another "Bethany" touch that I hadn't expected! The perch for our peacock with all the flowers, the lanterns, the orchids tucked into every napkin, the sweetheart table, and the candles EVERYWHERE!!! I am delighted that I will be able to say I knew Bethany, perhaps before every bride in California and beyond is begging for her and her team to "do her wedding." WORDS CANNOT EXPLAIN HOW AWESOME SHE IS! To be honest I felt out of place having her be my florist since I had a smaller wedding and budget than Bethany is used to. I do not know many things about flowers and was hard to describe what I was looking for. During our consultation I would show her pictures of what I liked and she was honest telling me if it was in my budget or not. The one thing I felt that I did not have control of for my wedding were my flowers. When she came to my venue I was overwhelmed with joy! She took my vision and went above and beyond what I imagined. I still cant stop looking at all the flowers in my pictures. From the bouquet, to boutonnieres, to ceremony area, to centerpieces, to cake flowers EVERYTHING was beautiful! I cannot thank her enough. Bethany is a GENIUS! We have worked with her for many years for little things here and there, but when I got engaged, she was the first call I made! I needed to see when she was available so I could plan my wedding date around that! From the initial consult, to the final meeting, to the day of the wedding, Bethany saw my vision and executed it to a tee! She was so creative with her design and the way everything tied together, and she never lost sight of the romantic feel I was going for. She knows everything there is to know about flowers and decor, and she actually referred me to an amazing wedding coordinator as well! Everything that they did went above and beyond my expectations and I was absolutely amazed by the beauty of my ceremony and reception site! It blew me away!!! There is no doubt that Splendid Sentiments does an amazing job with floral. Bethany as well as the other girls are incredibly nice and helpful. Where they are loosing 2 stars from me is with fulfilling my contract on my wedding day and simple wedding etiquette. Splendid Sentiments was my venue's vendor for floral and because I added basic floral (centerpieces and alter) into my package I had no choice but to go with Bethany. When I was making my vendor appointments months ago Wedgwood, my venue, was making the transition to Bethany for their floral. I live almost 2 hours away and made my initial appointment with Bethany. Everything went smooth, there was another employee who was also there helping us with our vision. We made our selections, signed a contract, and were on our way. After signing our contract I added/changed multiple items to the contract including a change about one week prior to the wedding. However, the emails, in my opinion, were all very clear, and from how they responded with an updated contract I would say Bethany would agree. I also added something around $500 extra dollars in floral and rentals then in our initial visit so I don't think Bethany had any complaint there. However, on my wedding day I was incredibly disappointed with the major mixups and lack of giving me what was clear on the contract. Here are the issues I encountered. 1. Upon arrival to the bridal suite my bouquet had ants all over it. We aren't talking just a few ants, we are talking a trail of ants all over the thing. As I held the bouquet to dust them off ants began crawling within the tule of my dress. My aunt brought my bouquet out to the woman who was there on behalf of Splendid Sentiments and she said ants are always an issue in that room. If you know there is an issue why would you continue to put flowers in there?? 2. My bouquet clearly stated in the contract that I was to have blush roses. No blush roses were in the bouquet. 3. My husbands boutonnière was to be a blush rose, clearly stated on the contract. He was given an orchid. On our initial meet with Bethany he was incredibly clear that he really didn't like orchids and therefore that is why we gave him a blush rose as every one else had ivory. 4. The "blush" roses in all the floral arrangements were not blush at all and not what we were shown in the shop. They were a darker, hot pink- completely didn't match anything. 5. The 6 candelabras we rented to go down our isle were not the ones we were shown in the shop. In fact, in my email to Bethany just a week before the wedding I added 4 additional candelabras and specifically mentioned the "iron" ones she showed us at our initial visit. 6. It didn't occur to me until I reviewed all the previous issues I had within my contract, but to an extent I was overcharged. Like I said my venue was in a change to have Bethany be their florist. I got a quote from the venue's previous florist because I was impressed with a flower bar she did at the alter. She gave me a price and Bethany agreed to match it. However, I should have had a credit from my venue for an alter piece and Bethany neglected to give me that credit. 7. Lastly and the most upsetting of everything and to be honest my only reason for taking the time to write this review is the lack of wedding day etiquette the woman who was there for Bethany showed. After the bouquet and groom's boutonniere issue happened she came out to talk to me. I explained how I wasn't going to let it ruin the day and regardless I was happy with the results. I let her know that my bouquet shouldn't have had so many orchids and my husbands certainly shouldn't have been the orchid (by the way he didn't even wear it). She had an attitude, but walked away. I was over it and like I said wasn't going to let it ruin my day. About 20 minutes later we are taking pictures on the golf course and all the sudden the woman is right in my face with my contract. She had the nerve to interrupt my photography session to review my contract on my wedding day. I couldn't believe it. She showed me where my bouquet said it would have orchids. I told her I knew that, but also pointed out the fact that it did not have the blush roses nor was the groom's flowers correct. If you're going to be so classless at least be 100% in the right. When I brought that to her attention she of course, didn't have much to say. I didn't even mention to her the other issues. Overall, their stuff is clearly beautiful. Their prices are higher then others in the area, but worth every penny. My suggestion for them is to review their contracts better or have more detail within the contract so you know what you showed the customer. read more

I used splendid sentiments for my wedding in San Marcos. Bethany does such an amazing job with her floral arrangements. The venue had a major change at the last minute with our ceremony site and Bethany was able to make any necessary changes so my day still looked beautiful. She listens to exactly what you want and will bring it to life. The only issue I noticed was a couple hiccups with communication/reaching her but I attributed it to her being extremely busy. Overall, a wonderful experience with a talented florist!! read more
