UPDATE AS OF DECEMBER 4, 2025: A response and solution was reached between my friend (the pet owner) and management, although it took 4 days of going back and forth. I don't believe they would have taken my friend's concerns seriously had we not posted our original review regarding their lack of customer service. At this time, my friend is somewhat content with the resolution she has came with, however, I still don't believe it should have escalated to this degree as a simple apology and refund/store credit would have easily solved the matter. I am writing this review on behalf of my friend, who was treated very disrespectfully by Sammie, the groomer, and based on our conversation with him, seemingly also the owner. The original service my friend booked was not a complete shave. However, Sammie went ahead and shaved the dog entirely without her approval. When he called afterward, instead of calmly explaining why he made that decision, he argued with her, repeatedly interrupted her, and spoke to her in a dismissive and disrespectful manner. This behavior is unacceptable from anyone, especially the person responsible for the service. Sammie claimed the dog was so "matted and neglected" that he had no choice but to shave him completely bald. Accusing a customer of neglect is untrue in this case and extremely hurtful. My friend takes excellent care of her dog, and this was not his first grooming here. In fact, he had previously been groomed by Alexis with no issues. Sammie's accusations and tone were completely out of line. What made things worse is that Sammie made the decision to perform a full shave based on a conversation with her children instead of contacting her directly. Regardless of who is present at the moment, only the owner has the authority to approve a major grooming decision. Children should never be placed in that position, and it shows a serious lack of judgment and communication on his part. I stepped in to help because there seemed to be a language barrier, but even then, Sammie continued speaking defensively and dismissively. Had he simply listened to her concerns respectfully, this situation would never have escalated. A sincere apology and a refund could have resolved everything. To add to the confusion, the booking process and payment system lacked transparency. Although the service was booked under the name "Sammie," the call we received came from someone identified by Caller ID as "Jose," and the Zelle payment appeared under a completely different business name. Overall, the customer service was nonexistent. Sammie's handling of this situation was unprofessional, disrespectful, and deeply disappointing. I truly hope that going forward, he communicates directly with pet owners, especially before making irreversible grooming decisions, and that he treats paying customers with the basic respect they deserve. read more

I had the worst experience with this pet spa after trusting them to groom my dog before his birthday and Christmas photos. The groomer was told that I wanted a teddy bear cut and if not possible, to leave his hair as long as possible. Sammie, Sammy or whatever his name is... shaved my baby bald. The lowest his hair has ever been cut. I cried like a baby because it seemed to be done out of spite since he didn't notify me prior. I know my baby's hair is long with multiple hair textures but anytime Alexis groomed him, he didn't come back bald. Please see my photos for reference. One of them is how Alexis groomed despite him having any matting. The rest of the photos are what Sammie did to my dog. Mind you, I specifically dematted the hair on his head and legs because I like them full. He took none of this into consideration. I'm extremely pissed. He was unprofessional, talked over me and had no customer service. I shouldn't have paid $105 for them to BALD my dog. That's not what I asked for and if that's what I wanted, I could've done it myself. Never again! Do not trust him. At all. He also claimed that this was my first appointment. He knew nothing. Seems as though Alexis is no longer there so I will take my business elsewhere. These people are rude, disrespectful and inconsiderate. Claiming I neglect my dog and all. No accountability. The groomer gave us a price, and even confirmed it when she arrived. When the grooming was completed, she tried to charge us an additional $25. We showed her the text where SHE sent us the official price, and she said that was HER MISTAKE and that we needed to speak with the owner. The owner came on the phone and instead of honoring her employees mistake, she tried to guilt trip my wife into paying the additional amount that was incorrectly quoted..... twice. My wife refused, and the owner made a REALLY NASTY remark. We were warned by a neighbor that they did the same thing to, and should have been cautious. I am reporting this company to The Better Business Bureau as the owner is a complete buffoon with zero professionalism who needs to learn how to deal with people with respect and honor whatever price her employees give customers before the job starts. Terrible, terrible service. If I could give 0 stars I would. For how poorly and degrading my wife was treated, I will let everyone in the area know not to use this horrible service. I will make sure the let stores in the area are aware not to promote this business. Also, FYI - the owner has had several 1 star reviews removed. This is my second visit with this mobile grooming service and I am very satisfied! I have a bichon frise and am very picky on his hair cut. Not only did they fix what another groomer botched, but they made my boy Jayden look FANTASTIC! Highly recommended for courteous/prompt service, professional breed specific hair cuts and very reasonable prices. plus they come to you! what more can ya ask for! Jayden looks amazing! We had the most wonderful experience with Juan from Splendid Pet Spa today. Juan arrived on time to take care of my cat's long nails. It was her first time in a crate and being without me. I was anxious hoping she wouldn't fight him but he assured me she would be just fine. He provided me a video showing how he handled her from the moment I left. I'd removed this post previously when the owner called me asking for me to remove the review in exchange for a full refund. I agreed but then imagining how many other people she may have backed into a corner to delete their honest review and what ultimately could have saved me from taking my own dog here - I reposted my review. The more I see my poor dog licking her cuts and scrapes on her hind leg from the clippers and find where she is carelessly missing patches of hair - the more upset I become and believe my original thought to be true - he took out his frustrations with me on my sweet dog. My dog has been groomed many many times in her 1.5 years of life and NEVER has she come home with any cuts yet alone THIS many nor does she have any previous ailments, infections, or sores. I'm really sad that my dog had to experience this groomer. I'd previously used Splendid Pet Spa but this last visit was not good. The groomer called 3 times to express his displeasure with my dogs coat (10:12am, 10:28am, 10:48a) - I'd handed my dog off at 10:08a. I say that to say he did not attempt to comb her out for 2hrs as the owner suggested. He'd already cut her all the way down by the 3rd call when I came to the van. I understand her coat is thick and had matting in some areas but certainly not as bad as he made it out to be. He tried to run a comb through it to prove his point. She has curly hair. Even on a human, you couldn't run a comb through curly hair without starting from the tip. He seemed rushed and unwilling to patiently work through it before using his clippers which he felt it was necessary to tell me, her hair had "messed up the clippers". I scheduled for 9:30 and received a text (not a call) that it was rescheduled to 10:30A. No one called to ask if that was okay. They've done this almost every single time I've booked - rarely on time. When I get my dog back I was disappointed to see he'd "poodled my doodle" in the face despite me asking him to leave her face rounded. Walking back to my apartment I found blood everywhere on the floor - he'd clipped the meat of her nail deep enough that a lot of blood was left behind. I called upset and in tears because I felt he'd taken his frustration with me out on my dog - which isn't fair to her. I should've cancelled the appointment after the 3rd phone call when I felt his energy was off/impatient. While he did return to put powder on her toe, he apologized but overall not happy with the customer service. You come to them to groom your pet but instead I felt I was chastised about her coat (which I brush 3 times a week) and rushed since they showed up later than originally scheduled. I don't usually leave reviews but I have to because my experience is always INCREDIBLE. I would 100% recommend this place! The staff are so responsive with all of my questions and Jose is incredible! He is so nice and you can tell he is great with animals! When my puppy is done with her grooming, she runs back to Jose to say bye (previously would shake uncontrollably when dropping her off at our previous groomer and she would try to hide). Jose is always able to replicate the photo of my favorite grooming! The price is cheaper than taking her to a grooming spot. Plus, she is always ready in an hour and doesn't have to wait around with other dogs like the spot we previously went! I have already referred my friends!! Great first visit. Basically they bought my positive yelp review. Free if you promise to give 5 star rating. Nothing is free so you tip what the service should cost. Got a text a month later reminding me that they did my cats nails a month before and he is due. The kicker is trying to get an appointment. Basically they stuff you in at the end of day because they save best times for full service. Your appointment doesn't count. I was actually told as much on telephone. This is definetly not a service for Splendid pets. read more
