He gave us all a board, paddle, and life jacket and all the equipment was new and in awesome shape. The whole experience was fun from beginning to end! Gary had all of us laughing when giving us instructions and he made sure everyone felt comfortable. We took about 20 teenagers from our church youth group. With such a large group of first-time paddle boarders, we couldn't have asked for a better instructor! I could tell Gary knows the river very well, which made a big difference. He knew the best places to stop and relax, where to rock jump, what areas to avoid for new-timers. I definitely recommend Canyon Paddle Co.

This X30 boat is far from new, but it runs very well, starting up perfectly every time. We used it to ski, surf (it has 2 ballasts), wakeboard, and also on a few longer runs to the marina and Rainbow Bridge. Tons of power, booming stereo, room for a few families at once, and a very large 60 gallon tank. Travis was very accommodating with our mid-week pick up and drop-off schedule, handled hitching up the trailer, and provided plenty of extras (ropes, boards, skis, 14 life jackets). I traveled less than two miles from the rental facility to our campsite and accepted responsibility for that oversight. However, this does not address the condition of the equipment, repeated engine stalling, roadside assistance, or subsequent billing dispute that prompted my review. The owner acknowledges that I immediately contacted him about the flat tire and was given the option of driving the machine back or paying for recovery. That is precisely my concern. I reported the issue as soon as it occurred, sought guidance from the rental company, and followed one of the options provided. I was subsequently expected to pay full replacement cost for a new wheel and tire, despite the existing wear and cosmetic damage to the original equipment. His response also conveniently fails to address the heavily worn and weathered front tires, the machine repeatedly stalling throughout the rental, and our extremely unprofessional phone conversation, during which he told me I was increasing his blood pressure simply by attempting to calmly explain my position. Most importantly, I made a genuine effort to resolve the disagreement by offering to split the replacement cost, despite disputing responsibility for the damage. His documented response was, "Not happening," followed by, "K this rim is now my spare. I am charging you for the new rim." Furthermore, following our initial phone conversation, during which he threatened additional charges, I was charged the entire $2,500 security deposit in addition to the disputed wheel-related charges. This escalated what should have been a straightforward disagreement over equipment damage into a significant financial dispute. Resolving this required opening a formal dispute with Chase, documenting the entire incident, submitting photographs and text communications, and spending considerable personal time on multiple phone calls with my bank. The process took months before the charges were ultimately corrected and my money was returned. While the outcome of a credit card dispute does not independently establish who was legally responsible for the damage, the fact remains that I had to go through an extensive dispute process to recover my funds. This was an entirely unnecessary amount of time and frustration over a one-day rental. I have openly acknowledged my own oversight regarding the brief highway use. I believe customers should be accountable for their actions, just as rental companies should be accountable for the condition of their equipment, the assistance they provide, and the professionalism they demonstrate when resolving disagreements. I have provided photographs and screenshots of the actual communications so prospective customers can evaluate the circumstances themselves. I stand by my original review and would not rent from this company again.
