Based on all the BBB complaints I suspect a Bait and Switch! On 1/13/2026 I was told I could get unlimited washes for one month for 22.76. The attendant said it was a great deal that would not last long so on 1/22/26 I brought my second car in and was told the same thing for 22.76, then without permission on 2/22/26 2/13/26 I was charged 75.84. Don't waste your money!! Go to Darien Car Clinic instead. I paid $89 today for "The Works" $43.99 + "Express Detailing- Super Interior" $39.99 and the car is still dirty, both on the inside and outside. When I asked if they could do a better job, they defended their work and told me that I would have to pay extra for a polish. At Darien Car Clinic they always make the car look shiny and pretty, despite the defects on the paint job, for less than what I paid at Splash. I tried Splash because it's closer to my house, but I'm definitely not going to give them my money anymore. read more

This Splash location is my favorite. The workers are thorough and courteous. They do hand-washing. After my car is washed, they take the time to thoroughly spray my windows and wipe them so they're not streaky. They also do a good job of wiping the whole car down after the wash so it's dry. There's a reason why Splash has so many negative reviews. Today I took my car to the Darien location. I had just had a tire replaced the day before and the tire store tech walked all around the car taking pictures to insure that there was no damage. All four rims were clean as a whistle. When I got home from Splash and parked my car, I noticed that the left front tire was scraped and the rim was scraped in the same area. It was obvious that it happened as they were pulling my car into the track or as it was driven out. I spoke to the manager who told me that it was IMPOSSIBLE for it to happen there. He took me to the front desk to show me a video to prove his point. The detail on the video was not close enough to tell anything and there was a worker standing between the wheel in question and the camera. The video stopped before it was possible to see the car exit the track. The manager then told me that they had paid lots of money to install plastic guard rails to make sure that rims couldn't be scratched. I felt the the guardrail and it was hard as a rock. There's no doubt that it could do some damage if the wheel was scraped as the car was being driven out or out. The bottom line is that the manager, in essence, said that I was lying and took no responsibility for the damage that had obviously occurred at Splash. read more

This place is terrific! Matthew did an outstanding and professional job. He takes personal pride in the work he does and the finished product could not be more beautiful. He corrected the paint, removed the scratches and ceramic coated the entire car. I would have had to pay much more elsewhere for much less. In addition to the outstanding work and professional service, Matthew and the team at Splash could not have been more user friendly. Used the self service wash and the foam soap wasn't working. They REFUSED (including the manager) to give me soap unless I had my own bucket. Wouldn't lend me a bucket after I spent $10 trying to use the self service wash. I bought a $12 styrofoam cooler over at Mobil next door and they gave me dirty soap from their bucket that they could've easily lent me. Today I took my sons CRV to get a hand wax. The employee finished in under 15 minutes. She did not wax the roof. When I questioned her , she just put her head down and went back to my car to wax the roof . This is not the first time this has happened. My car and my wife's car are unlimited package. Look in valpack envelope that's normally mail thrown away in the garbage for coupon for free hand car wash after $19.99 oil change. $19.99 oil change is basic and doesn't apply to relatively new cars. My 2005 hyundai qualified, but not hubbie's 2011 toyota. Ugh! Also, cash register employee wasn't going to accept my coupon saying that the company was doing away with the deal... STILL DISAPPOINTED WITH SPLASH! I've been a customer since 2004 only because they hand wash and clean the inside of the car (which has changed, but the price increased). I'm telling you now, if you don't care about going to a regular car wash and cleaning the inside of the car yourself do that. Splash never fails to disappoint me every time I go there. My recent trip was Saturday, April 22, 2023. I got the Works and four mats cleaned for $46.78!!! The Works package has a number of services including Tire Shine and Wheel Brite, but not wiping down the dashboard, console and seats. Crazy, right? They have separated the inside cleaning into its own Super Interior package for $39.99!!! This would be fine, if a thorough cleaning of the interior was needed. However, for $46.78 that should at least include wiping down any visible dirt inside the car. Why do I have to pay an additional $40 just to get dust cleaned off the dashboard and console? Doesn't make sense to me! Then, my biggest gripe and I complained about this over and over again, is the tire cleaning. It never fails that every time I go to any Splash Car Wash (from Greenwich to Fairfield) and get any package that includes these two options they never perform them. When my car comes out the wash, I watch the attendants as they're drying it off and cleaning the mirrors. They never, ever, ever, cleaning the break dust inside the rim of the tire. Some will take the armour oil and put it on the tire, but they never clean that rim. I was so frustrated on Saturday because I paid extra for the tire shine and wheel brite and they did neither. Every single time I have to point out the dirt and ask them to clean it. In the past, I've even had to take a rag and do it myself. Why, after shelling out almost $50??? Then, the craziest thing to me is, if you're cleaning the front window why not wipe down the dashboard and console, they're right there. They don't even have to spray anymore Windex. Splash y'all need to get it together because I'm telling you right now in this post, I'm going to spread the news about your non-services to anyone that will read/listen. This is absurd in all these years you can't get it right! Oh... and let me add this, a couple of years ago I went to the Fairfield location and had money stolen from my ashtray. Funny thing is, I would not have noticed because I usually throw in there and never think about it again. But, this time I had just left the Trumbull Mall and put a couple of dollars in there. Then, I went straight to the car wash, so I knew it was in there. After they finished washing my car, I left and realized I didn't give them a tip. So, I opened up the ashtray and the money was gone! I circled back around and went off on them. Of course no one was going to confess. Then here comes the manager saying to me "relax, it ain't that serious"! I was stunned and told him, "yes it is! Horrible attitude with the workers working at the front inpatient and unprofessional. My friend was trying to pay for some snacks he slightly tossed his bag of candy on the counter and the worker the was going to scan it then he literally threw it on the floor. I own a sports car and the workers always rev my car and literally slam on the gas that i can literally hear it inside the lobby because it echoes throughout the garage the worst carwash experience ive ever had. I have been coming to Splash in Fairfield for as long as the business has been in town. The last time I brought my car in the most basic interior and exterior service was $31.99! It took longer to get cleaned than it has in the past, and there was still a lot of stuff on the floor mats and on the seats that hadn't been vacuumed properly. The staff was courteous and spend several more minutes trying to vacuum better, but I doubt I'll return. $32 plus tip is a lot of money for this most basic service. Went there for an oil change and got up charged for a few filter replacements which made a $80 purchase into a $300 purchase. Brought the car back a few days later as it started to make a noise. They said that it was the brake pads as they said they were non-existent and recommended us to see his mechanic friend. Instead, we brought the car to our mechanic. Break pads were fine, it was a branch stuck underneath the car. Either they don't know what they are talking about or they were scamming us. I don't know much about cars but they asked about the air intake done on the car (my brother did it). They probably used my reply of not knowing much about it to take advantage. Don't go to this carwash unless you want stuff stolen from out of your car and to be discriminated against by VICKY CARDONA. She is supposedly an assistant manager but her attitude and demeanor are classless. I pay for the unlimited car wash membership and come here pretty frequently. So much so that the staff knows I stay in my car while it goes through the wash and that I ask for EXTERIOR cleans only. I went about 3 weeks ago and after my wash, I head inside to get cash for their tip box. Before I leave, I ask again to have only the outside of the car dried off. While I am gone, they start to clean the interior even though I requested not to. While inside my car, someone takes the liberty of helping themselves to a pair of gold earrings that were left in the passenger side door storage. I didn't notice they were missing until later that night. The next day, I went back to speak to the manager, German. I let him know that the earrings belonged to my girlfriend, and they hold sentimental value. I asked that they please be returned, and I offered to compensate anyone who "found" or returned them. I was told that all the employees there were very honest and would never steal anything but after reading some of these comments, that is clearly not true as employees have in multiple cases stolen any money or valuables left in the car. I went back again a few days ago for a wash. The moment they scanned my sticker, VICKY CARDONA came over and tells me that I CANNOT stay in my car anymore while the car is being washed. I reiterated to her that I always stay in my car and because of my last carwash experience I wanted to stay inside. She responded "for the protection of HER employees and a new policy" I could not stay in my car anymore. I was taken aback by her rude and aggressive demeanor. I had always stayed in my car and it was never a problem. I asked a few people I knew who worked there about this new policy and they were just as confused as I was. They said they had not been notified of this and there were customers that same day who requested to stay in their cars with no issues. Oh, and regarding the missing earrings situation she said "I don't have any comments" again in a rude and aggressive manner and left. I called their customer relations hotline as well as 3 local Splash car washes in reference to this new policy and they all confirmed that no such policy exists. This manager or assistant manager I should say showed no empathy or sympathy whatsoever to the situation happening. Not only do their employees steal out of cars, but management will also take no accountability, treat you like garbage and cause a scene by telling you to get out of your car in front of other customers. I didn't want to make a big issue when this first happened but after being humiliated in front of other customers and being told I was not allowed to sit in my car, I terminated my membership and will have my family do the same. I want this matter escalated to the corporate office or to either Mark Curtis or Chris Fisher. If this is how your establishment treats their customers and nothing is done about it, it speaks volumes about Splash Car Wash's values. Worst Customer Service, they do not disclose that you need to be in the location to cancel your account and assistant manager tried telling me that I need to call another number to dispute my charges. Because they do not give a refund in the store for unlimited car wash accounts. Which again was not disclosed to me before I signed up. Called the place all day and no one picked up the phone. Left two voicemails to have someone call me back and never got a call back. When I finally spoke to the manager I was already irritated that I have been calling all day. I will admit my voice was louder than usual but I am a loud person to begin. Person on phone assistant manager name Ricardo started to get upset that I was upset and started talking over me. He kept a talking to someone on the side explaining to them that "he was talking to a lady who he is trying to help but they are just yelling" like I wasn't hearing him. When I told him I wanted to cancel my account he said I needed to be at the location which made me even more upset being that they never disclosed this information to me. When I signed up they said I can cancel anytime and that it was easy to do so. So as I try to express my frustration to Ricardo. His response was I don't know why you're upset ma'am I'm telling you what needs to be done to resolve your problem and continues to talk over me when I explain why I am so upset. Then I ask about how I will her my refund and he says they do not do that in the store. That I have to call another number to be able to do that. So as you can imagine. I was now at a boiling point. Prior to then taking money out of my account that's an overcharge they had done the same thing last time when I was in the store and the manager at the time was able to refund me what I was over charged and when I had told him that makes no sense why can I not get a refund when I go to the store to cancel it. His response was. We shouldn't have done that last time. It's in our policy not to do that. So at this point I've just about had it and again was trying to explain how upsetting it was to find all of this out and he in turn gets more upset that I'm upset. The starts arguing with me. On the record as much as my tone of voice was louder. I never used profanity and had he listened I have been trying to explain all the things I was upset over. He then again starts talking to someone else in the background who I later find out is the manager. Telling him how all I'm doing is yelling and how he doesn't understand why I'm so upset. I finally told him. "I can hear you you know! At least put me on hold or why don't you let me speak to whoever you are speaking to" So now I am speaking with the manager. The manager told me I can go to the store and cancel the account and they will give me a refund. He also seemed to not know how to handle an upset customer nor did he apologize for the reasons why I was upset. But at least he was able to tell me that when I come in I can have my unlimited membership cancelled and they can also refund me at the store. Honestly. I will never go back to any splash car wash because of this incident. I basically got the run around because the assistant manager and manager and who ever helped me last time and who ever opened up my account didn't know their own policies nor how to handle a customer dispute. Beware!!! When they tell you you can cancel anytime. It's not as easy as you think. Oh and about the overcharged. They told me when I had a billing issue that they took care of it and that the charges should be coming out of the new card that I put on file.
