I don't know where they found such great people, but Alejandro, David and Jonathan were extremely helpful. and watching the other staff interact with other customers, I would say that the rest of the team were pleasant and helpful at a level. You don't see much these days. The car wash was great and now there are cleaning products and towels for you to use free with the free vacuums. I was surprised at how good the quality of the wash was. My only complaint is that the staff are working really hard to help the customers and even though they're not actually towel drying your car anymore (no need comes out mostly sry) they're providing a lot of other help and support but there's no tip jar. I really hope the new management will reconsider this. People like me like to reward good service and everyone could use a little extra these days. read more

On my phone I accepted their invitation to generate a coupon for a free car wash at their Westport Avenue, Norwalk location. The attendant rejected my coupon, saying that it had already been used. I told her that I had just generated the coupon before turning into their driveway, but "I can't help you." I had to turn the car around in a tight area. I wrote to the company, which answered on my third try: no help offered; just a veiled reference that the problem is my fault. --- We haven't had any issues with redeeming our free car washes. If someone uses your information to redeem a free wash, the system would prevent it from being used again. Unfortunately, we cannot override the system, as it resets every six months. I recommend speaking with the General Manager at this location to see if there are any other available coupons for you at this time. Car wash is fine, but they push a one-month discount car wash program and fail to mention that at the end of the one-month program, they will automatically charge your credit card every month at a higher fee. I only noticed this when I got home and read the receipt. I don't think that is honest. I had to figure out how to cancel it on line. read more

I've been going here long before it was called Russell Speeders--probably for about 20 years. It used to be the Route 7 Car Wash, but only got better as Russell Speeders. The lines always move quickly and with my monthly pass I can get on the express line which scans the QR code on my windshield. I've never had a problem over all that time. Of course, the cost of the monthly pass has gone up, but then again everything has! It's still a bargain compared to places like Splash which costs considerably more and takes longer to go through. read more

Avoid! and please do not fall for the sales pitch of the ground staff. They will sell and promise you anything to have you signed up. I had one car that i was paying for $19.99/month, when I brought my second car to the car wash and since I didn't have membership on the 2nd, I had to go through the sales pitch. I did fall for that and signed for another $19.99 per month on my second car. Checking my bill the first month, it stayed true to what they said, but then Oct/Nov/Dec one of them went to $47 per month and then in Jan '24 the first also went to $29 per month, so now I am paying $77 per month for just a drive through car wash. Arguing with the ground staff did not help and they asked me to call a phone number that happened to be an automated message. Somehow I landed with Customer Service who could not explain what happened. She could not even send me a copy of my contract as she said they don't have access to that. Wonderful, so you get robbed by false information, price hike with no warning, can't even dispute the charge. Immediately upon arrival you are assaulted with the heavy sell to sign up for a monthly membership. Rejecting this invitation brings visible disappointment from the gentlemen processing cars. He seems to take it personally and I suspect his car wash captors have given him a mandatory quota. I pulled around and had another employee try and navigate my car into the exterior car wash tunnel using cryptic hand movements. He was either trying to land a plane or fight off a swarm of bees. He was also mumbling incoherently. My confused response prompted him to point to a sign and ask "if I could read." The sign directed me to put the car in neutral - and I directed the mumbling, bee fighting employee to revisit his attitude. I've been using the Norwalk location infrequently for years. When doing so I just wanted a single, quick, no-frills wash. The cashier staff are obviously working with some kind of commission/bonus for selling the monthly passes, because they push it hard. You generally have to say 'no' to them 2-3 times before they relent and let you buy a one-off wash. It can get annoying. Then I purchased a white car. What was I thinking? In a month of ownership I've been there twice, so I figured I would try the base-level monthly and see how it goes - I'll update my results with this program here later. One benefit of it seems to be the automated entrance once you have their sticker on your windshield. This place is a madhouse on weekends, with backup traffic lines blocking Route 7 sometimes. Anything to 'cut' the manual line (where the cashiers are busy trying to sell subscriptions) seems like a bonus. I avoid the place like the plague on weekends in any event. Wash wise, it is what it is. A goofy little automated soap blast and rinse. It's not concierge service detailing, nobody hand-dries for you, you just pop into neutral and go. Want to wash mats and vacuum? That's all self-serve in the exit lot. I've never noticed scratches/damage to my car in the years I have been going there. And to all of you other reviewers complaining about the ethnicity of the staff? Screw off, you racists. read more

I can only give three stars because they no longer pre-wash the car and it seems like the car goes through the wash too fast because it comes out dirty and soaking wet. The express wash "WILL SCRATCH YOUR CAR." This isn't my opinion, this is what they literally told me when I asked for the Express Wash. I've been here before so I'm used to the uncomfortable upsell every time, but if this place is literally offering a wash that they know will scratch your car I'd say stay as far away as possible. After about the 3rd time I told the guy I just wanted an express wash and he then told me it would scratch my car after trying to upsell me twice, I backed out of there and got the hell out of dodge. Car Wash Tooling through Norwalk on a nice day, the car was the usual rolling pile of grime that it usually is. There are signs for this car wash all over the place and right off to the side I see the actual establishment and we popped in. They have a $6.25 exterior express wash and that was all that was needed as there was too much crap inside to stop and clean - plus I had to be elsewhere and didn't have the time for a full blown cleaning. The workers are all adorned in ties which was a nice touch - not the usual car wash rabble you get in my neighborhood. After paying and pulling up to the track (where they have a cool mirror system to help you line up your tires) you are greeted by a pair of dummies - yes mechanical ones (see photo) who do the prewash. The rest of the ride through the car wash is the usual thing and on the exit side, there is another dummy who waves you out... cute. In and out and for a few bucks, what more could you ask for? I bring my card to russels nearly every week without issues with the unlimited subscription. But today when I went tthe wash ripped off a piece of my factory trim on my Land Rover. I went back about an hour later after realizing what happened and they simply handed me back the piece but did not offer to make the situation right in any way as you pay expect a business to do. You can see in the photos that the car wash left many dings and scratches on the trim piece. I feel that I may end up cancelling my account and going with another company which may provide better services without leaving damage in your car. read more

I went to get my car washed after the recent snowfall, and all the ice melt over the roads. Number one, I had to fight to get into position and squeeze into the line where the people who have memberships go. They seem to think that they have the upper hand because they have a membership, and I was in the lane where you pay cash, and since it was busy, I had to literally fight to get in front of someone. The gentleman who took my money was of no help at all. You would think at least he could have assisted me in getting into the line in front of the people who think because they are members they can just keep going. Then I wanted to vacuum out my car, or at least some of it, after it was washed, and the change machines are no longer there, and you have to use a credit card for the vacuums now. I couldn't really figure out how to do it, and of course, God forbid there was anyone around to assist me; no customer service whatsoever. It's a disgrace. Everything is now geared to people having a membership, which they try to sell you over and over. THAT they have time to do while you are paying cash for your car wash. It's absolutely awful. While I was waiting in the line for the wash, I remembered my antenna wasn't pushed down, and I asked the gentleman whose job it is to guide you into the actual car wash if he could put it down for me, and he looked at me as if I was insane. I am never going back here. No customer service whatsoever, and now you have to use a credit card to pay for anything extra. Really a shame. read more

This is a decent, no frills drive through car wash. While the machine does a good job and the staff is friendly, the dryers don't dry my truck well enough on the rear and I always get water spots. Besides that, the machine does a good job on the wheels and the rest of the car. Most of the time you will see customers pulled over on the street by the exit drying their cars themselves. I realize that the low prices reflect this ($5 exterior, cheapest in the area), but having a few guys outside drying cars would go a long way. read more

Even though they've raised their prices a bit over the years, Russell Speeders is still my fave. Everyone is so super nice and they're always updating and improving. The way-too-friendly car wash robots freak my kids out a bit, but nothing kills a few minutes better than a pass through some "hot lava" and "hedgehog tornadoes". I was totally grateful when my husband gave me the Monthly Unlimited for Christmas. It deserves mention that I don't mind taking care of my own interior, so the drive-through and self-serve vacuum & mat wash areas are fine by me. Stick to Splash (and their crazy prices) if you'd rather wait inside and have someone else take care of your crumbs and dusty dash. read more

I took my car to Russell Speeder's expecting that for $19.50 they could wash off the dust created by the road work going occuring on my road. When I drove away the car was still wet so it looked okay. After getting home (less than 2 miles) I noticed that the entire rear of my SUV looks like I went out muddying with it. Thank God I didn't succumb to the high pressure sell for the monthly pass. It seems that they added a few animatronics and screens in an attempt to distract you from the extreme drop off in the quality of service provided. read more

You get a crappy wash with no extras. No vacuuming, no towel drying, nothing. In fact they don't even offer interior cleaning. What a rip off. Then after you pay for your overpriced wash, they direct you to the vacuums, which you must do yourself and pay for the vacuums. They also have a mat station to clean your mats... This, they let you use for free, but beware you might lose a finger. Personnel are unfriendly and not at all helpful. When I had a problem with the mat machine it was a huge inconvenience for the worker to help me. Lastly, my first wash was terrible so they let me go thru again. My second wash was better, but I still saw so many missed areas. That's why you need the real people, with real towels at the end to spot and fix the missed areas.
