Spiro's was really our "first" introduction to restaurants in Hanson, and I'm happy to report, the experience was a positive one. This small-town pizza and sandwich shop operates as cash only (there is an ATM on site), but the minor inconvenience is outweighed by all the "niceties". First, this place is super clean. As other reviewers mention, you could eat off the floors! There's a small bar stool eating/waiting area, and all of the drinks are in coolers for you to peruse-- among your standard Coke/Pepsi, you'll find some unusual options! The husband and wife duo who run the place have been very pleasant and polite each time we've ordered here (once, the order was placed in person, the next time, we called over the phone). I've tried the Italian sub and the steak & cheese, Jamie had the chicken parm sub. Each one was pretty tasty, but here's a few recommendations: don't forget to add the toppings, especially if you're calling in an order over the phone. My steak and cheese was super plain-Jane because I assumed peppers and onions came on it. Another tip: the hot peppers are SUPER hot. I like spicy food, but about halfway through my Italian sub, I took them all off. Wait times are almost non-existent. Think 10 minutes. I barely had time to even drive there! My sandwich was done and waiting for me. The price of a meal from this place is unbelievable. For $6-8 you can get sub loaded with tasty made-just-for-you ingredients and toppings. The subs are bigger than Subway's (I believe the small is 8"). Toasting it, of course, is the way to go for sub sandwiches. And talk about a deal: a can of soda is only going to set you back 90 cents. WOW! Spiro's is great for a lunch break or early dinner. If i could give this place no stars i would they use to be good back in the day 10 plus years ago but now they suck i ordered a chicken parm and a steak bomb the chiken parm was chicken pattys like from middle achool cut in half on a sub rol mind you1 chiken patty. Called and asked the man about it said you guys use to be good id get chiken parm subs with nice chiken tenders now its middle school chiken pattys he said that i had to specify if i wanted fingers or not. Who the fuck wants a chicken patty parm sub like wtf. Hung up then continued to eat my steak bomb i then pulled out a 3 inch long piece of plastice wrap out of my mouth it ended up being about an inch wide and 3 inches long. Called back sure as shit im mad and he doesnt let me get a word in keeps saying chiken this chiken that thinking im calling about the chiken patty again. He then hangs up. Mind you im already on the way back there. I go in show him the piece of plastice, covered in the grease from the steak half melted too and he has the nerve to twll me i put it in there. Im not guna fucking drive back hand over 3/4s of an un eaten sub with plastic hanging out just to get 10 bucks back. Point of principle is they fucked up and are blameing the customer saying i put it in their. I honestly wanted a full refund because my girlfriend couldnt even eat hers it was gross but he wouldnt give me the money for the chiken parm. Always good food in my experience. Weird hours being the only drawback as someone mentioned. The family is very pleasant and the woman actually wouldn't let me tip her but I did anyways because they are always so good to us. Price is about average 6+ for a large sub, dinners around 10. All in all a nice family owned business. For some good quality at a great price go here. I recommend the chicken tender dinner or the phenomenal steak and cheese, I don't know why but theirs is my go to. The home made lasagna was freaking sweet too, just be sure to order that ahead as it is actually home made so it takes a bit longer then your average order out meal to make. I ordered from Spiro's Tonite and will never go there again. Mike's pizza has you beat. I ordered an Italian sub and I ran a deli and our subs were much better. You just layed all ingredients and poured old lettuce on top,chunks of tomatoes and onions. I am out my money but you won't screw me again. Your sub was disgusting. read more

Love this place! My family and I love their subs, dinners and especially their Greek salad. The place is spotless. I mean you could literally eat off of the floor. Their menu is the pizza shop menu but they take tremendous care to do everything right. They do not take credit cards and have some odd closing times. Odd hours, cash only (not a negative for me, power to real cash), and ok food. You aren't missing anything, it's your average run of the mill small town sub joint. They do have a mean linguiça sub though. The husband is a decent guy, always likes to chat and is a very caring person.
