The staff then try to point to the other register that was located next to the large family (the kid was playing on that register which was we why headed to the last register of the aisle). He gave us a glare as if we were troublemakers because he had to repeatedly ask us about payment method. We already answered him and I had my wallet out already with my items waiting to scan. I even spoke louder each time (and felt like I was about to yell to be heard which would be rude if I did) and he never even looked/acknowledge my husband when he spoked up as well. There wasn't loud background music or anyone yelling for his attention so I don't understand why he didn't hear me. I wasn't wearing my face mask at the time. Did he not want me to pay? Horrible experience.

My two best friends had a dual birthday and I noticed this was next to Heart to Heart, so I decided to check it out. This store has a variety of funnies so it's cool to check out and also a shop I impulse-buy-indulge on. Each section of the shop is well put and often restocked. I liked how there were sample testers for the lotions. Also there's your usual card selection in the back along with gift wraps, gift bags, and decorations to pick up. I also love cheese, but I'm just tempted to buy one of those mystery cheeses near the shelves or those seasonal delights/chocolates/cookies on the middle table. Also, I'd come back for the Pre de Provence soaps, Crabtree & Evelynn sets, and Tea Forte samples/cannisters. This is probably going to be my favorite shop.

I have walked past this place at least 50 times and it has always looked or been closed. Yesterday…read moreI decided to go during the hours listed on Yelp, and viola! It's actually 2 storefronts straddling the barber shop, and as a previous reviewer said, has been there since 1985, which I love. The owner was super nice and helpful in my quest for party decor, and gave me mini-tours of each storefront so I could decide what I needed. Aesthetically, it's overwhelming and some of what they sell looks like it's been there awhile. Items literally tower over you to the ceiling, and the owner said they do a lot of online retail to keep the storefront open. However, if you can navigate the unusual hours, their personal attention keeps you from wading through paper products feeling lost, and their prices, whilst not discount, are reasonable. Favorite part of my visit was as I was leaving and saw several children waiting, as school had just let out, for the owner to open the storefront side that sells candy. For a place I thought was always closed, Mime's is definitely part of the neighborhood.

While the children were excitedly showing me items they found, she repeatedly yelled, "I just want some peace and quiet," while covering her ears. She also loudly mocked the song playing in the store, repeating the lyric, "If you ain't got no money, take your broke ass home," in front of us. Her comments and behavior were completely inappropriate, especially around young children who were simply behaving like excited kids in a store. I had every intention of making a purchase, but after witnessing her behavior, I chose not to spend my money there. As we were leaving, I looked in her direction because I was genuinely shocked by how she had acted, and she responded with a rude, "Can I help you?" in a confrontational tone. I have worked with children for years, and I understand they can be energetic. However, they were not being disruptive or disrespectful. Regardless, no customer--especially children--should be treated with such impatience, hostility, or disrespect. This was some of the worst customer service I have experienced. An employee, particularly someone in a management position, should be held to a much higher standard of professionalism. I hope this incident is taken seriously and addressed appropriately, as this behavior reflects very poorly on your business. I will not be returning or recommending this store based on this experience.
