The Marriott Fairfield Inn Airport is aptly named. Unlike the other hotels in the area using the…read morename "airport" because they are close to the airport, the Marriott is actually IN the airport. If you're arriving in Rochester by air, you'll find the hotel right across the street from the terminal. If you're driving in, it's a little more confusing. It's not unlike playing Uncle Wiggly. (If you don't know what that is, do a google search.) Just drive through the baggage and arrivals area, and you'll find the hotel right next to the long term parking structure. (At the time of this writing, the terminal is under construction. I tried to follow my GPS instructions when the voice said, "Make a slight left" which I did,and wound up taking a scenic drive through the long term parking structure. The smile on the attendent's face told me I wasn't the first. One more roundy-round of the arrivals area was the trick - it wasn't possible to "make a slight left" because that roadway isn't there currently.) Once you figure out the way around the game board, checking in is typical Marriott, fast and efficient. There is one elevator in the center of the building, which isn't bad because it's only three floors and doesn't have a big footprint. The room was a touch on the small side but usuable. Three adults fit comfortably. The decor is pleasant, the carpeting is resonably new as the woodwork seems to be new. I would like to see an additional night stand, and outlets for battery chargers are a bit sparse. It also seems a bit on the pricey side for what it is, but we did happen to be here on the weekend that the University of Rochester is holding graduation ceremonies. If that wasn't enough, there was a professional bicycle race in downtown Rochester this weekend, putting even more strain on the city's lodging. All things considered, Iwould stay here again, especially if I were flying into ROC.
