My husband and I had our Wedding Reception at Glendoveers on 9/22/2024. I would highly recommend this Venue to anyone. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. I can't express enough how beautiful, warm and inviting the atmosphere was. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating, and the food, absolutely amazing. They made sure that every detail was of the utmost importance. The servers did an amazing job, from helping set everything up, serving all the food (appetizers, dinner and dessert) and keeping everything clean and well organized. They made clean up at the end of the evening a breeze, helping us to pack up all the decorations and everything we brought in. The Bartender was on the ball. He was fast, friendly, quick witted, but most importantly very good at his job in keeping everyone happy and well hydrated. Last but not least, the Cooks...every one of our guests raved about the food and how delicious everything was. We went to Glendoveers for an event and I was very impressed with this facility. The food was excellent and they have done a lot of renovation to the building. The staff was exceptional. They were very friendly and attended to your every need. They had a few craft beers I. Tap and the liqueur drinks ($5 beers and $6 drinks) were not watered down. On Sunday, May 27th. my son and daughter-in-law were married at Glendoveers in Penfield. The dedicated staff at Glendoveers went above and beyond to make the day special and perfect for the bride groom and their 72 guests. Shannon, the events coordinator was fabulous throughout the year-long planning process (Bride and Groom live in Austin) and made suggestions that made things run smoother and were cost- saving. The location was beautiful- and we were able to use the outdoor area for the ceremony, the deck/ tent area for the cocktail reception, the patio and fire-pit for s'mores and the indoor space for dining/dancing. Recent renovations-updating the bathrooms, new serving/buffet carts, brick and stone path landscaping were major improvements to a already picturesque venue. We used McCarthy tent rentals for a 60" 1/2 round sweetheart table and sashes which were perfect for the high top tables on the deck. We also rented pole coverings which transformed the tent and deck space. We had rented a whole tent heater- which McCarthys allowed us to cancel without penalty when we realized the temperature was going to be in the 80s. We did purchase floor length linens for the dining tables (Glendoveers are not floor length)and high cabs in the tent (which is 1/3 the cost of renting). We let guests know via the wedding site and email that Glendoveers offered complimentary valet parking- and it worked well. The food was delicious and served quickly to all guests. We came here for a wedding and reception on 10-21-17. It's hidden, has a porch for outside and an area for outdoor weddings. The view of the flora and fauna are lovely. The inside can handle about 150 people, it's large enough. You can play around with decorating, it's a no muss no fuss kind of place. The reception had a buffet for appetizers which were very good and they had enough food for the dinner part. The only issue is it got horribly crowded in that area and the bar is right there. You can go and do s'mores they have a fire pit out on the terrace. It's an interesting little place. They need better signage to find this place as you can drive right by. It's private and your the only party there. At night when you leave it's dark, like middle of nowhere dark. They have some light. They have parking around the place and you may have to park on the side of the road that comes in, it's not a big thing cause no one else will be coming. The bathrooms need an update. We hosted our daughter's baptism reception here. It was wonderful and I cannot think of a single thing I would have wanted done differently! The room was clean and tables set exactly how I wanted them. I was able to come in the morning to set up some photos and flowers. The cheese and cracker station was beautiful and tasty - we added fresh fruit as well which was probably the freshest and best tasting I've ever experienced at a party house. The buffet was DELICIOUS. My guests complimented me over and over! The ice cream sundae bar was also a complete hit - everyone was thrilled! I will use Glendoveers in the future. Came here for a rehearsal dinner and had a good experience. The space is pretty big. There weren't too many of us for the rehearsal so we had more than enough space to mingle and eat. The bar area is off to the side which I love. That means anyone who wants to drink can remove themselves. That is also where the appetizers were. We had a buffet for dinner. The line went through quickly and they kept the food abundant and ready. The staff was friendly and helpful. The whole place was pretty clean and well put together. I loved their outside porch area that you can also hang out on when the weather is nice. I would suggest this for a smaller private party. We came here the other day for a wedding. The wedding was set up outside and they did a wonderful job of making it beautiful. The only exception being a huge swatch of lawn that was dug up about ~15 feet from where we were seated. It made a tempting spot for the kids to want to play with all the available dirt. After the ceremony we went inside. The building looked small from the outside but it was a decent size inside. There was a dance floor right next to where the tables were set up. The food area was separated by a small wall. There was a very nice selection of hors d'oeuvres. There were things that I had never had before and it was all delicious. There was crackers, cheese, and pepperoni. There was also roasted veggies, bacon wrapped scallops, cheese curds, veggie egg rolls, and so much more. Everything that we tried was so well prepared. Dinner was served as well and it was not as spectacular as the hors d'oeuvres. The main course was alright. There was a wide selection and it was warm. We were one of the first tables to be served and some of the food was already dry by the time we started eating. The wait staff did an excellent job of keeping the tables cleared and helping where needed. There were plenty of kids there and they loved having the fire pit set up so they could roast marshmallows for s'mores. Overall, an excellent job was done to make the wedding a success. We came here for my sons Graduation party and everything was great! Location was centrally located and very private! Worked with Shannon Tucciarello the event specialist. She helped me pull it all together and was very easy to work with!! The day of party I had 2 hours prior to party to decorate and Erica was very helpful and offered to help! When the party started the staff including Erica, Joe Palmer and bartender were amazing! Food was excellent and hot and Joe could not do enough to make sure plates where picked up and everyone had what they needed! I had several guest telling me that food was very good and they where very interested in having there family events there in the future. I would definitely highly recommend Glendoveers for any kind of event! This was my 4th time there but my 1st time hosting an event there! Each time has been great! read more

We used Creative Caterers for a birthday party of approximately 50 people. We were INCREDIBLY IMPRESSED!! After working with multiple caterers for bids, we found Creative Caterers to be the most professional, responding to calls and questions quickly and giving great advice. I was organizing the party from out of town and did not know what to expect when we arrived. The servers were right on time and set up and beautiful display of tables with linen as well as a elegant buffet table. The servers on site kept everything clean and tables cleared so quickly there was never a mess anywhere in the hall. However, I have to emphasize THE FOOD!!! It was delicious - absolutely delicious - far beyond expectations. We are very familiar with catered food as well as fine dining. Every item from the salad to the potatoes was excellent. The roast beef was flavorful and the seasoning really permeated the whole roast. Everyone had seconds and there was still plenty to be had. We asked who had prepared the food and heard that the owners prepare most of it. They did an amazing job. We might have to crash someone else's wedding if we hear they are catering it to eat some more... The staff were beyond helpful, even saving us with plastic forks and plates when it was discovered we had forgotten to bring serving dishes for our cake. I cannot recommend highly enough. They made our evening perfect. I got so many compliments for the organizing the food - but I need to pass them all on to Creative Caterers. They were wonderful! read more

I attended a work event here and was so pleasantly surprised. I'd never even heard of this place.. it's a little of out of the way on OLD Browncroft road which is kind of a weird turn off regular Browncroft rd... I'd never have known it was there. Its actually set in a sort of wooded area with water running close by. It's not a large space... I'm guessing they could do about 200 guests total (we had probably 60-ish) but it's really a pretty space with a gorgeous wood bar, large open event space with lots of windows and the night we were there a large tent that would take an event into the outside was set up. I imagine you could get another 20-30 people out there depending on the set up. The tables were elegantly set with flameless candles in weathered looking lanterns as centerpieces. From what I gather, they do their own "catering" which I take to mean perhaps they will "travel" but the food was wonderful! Gorgeous pre-dinner bites including a cheese spread like I've never seen at an event...delicious cheeses that I've never run across, little bites of spanikopita and quiche that were yummy and a great veggie tray.... oh!! And this simply salt and pepper And olive oil grilled asparagus I couldn't stop eating! We had a buffet set up with a wonderful range of choices: small pieces of chicken French, scallops and shrimp Alfredo and some of the BEST roast sirloin I've had.. maybe ever. It had this great seasoned "crust" on the outside that just sent it over good to great. Other items filled it out like salt potatoes, pasta with sauce and nicely seasoned sautéed veggies. The bar wasn't fully stocked but I assume that changes with the event. The basics were there and they had several decent beers on tap..a Rohrbachs choice among them which I enjoyed. The staff was friendly, efficient and unobtrusive during our presentation. This really was a great event & im secretly hoping our next one is here as well. read more

All of Glendoveers' staff, especially Shannon, have been incredible. From the first meeting, she was knowledgeable about how to plan and when to get details in order. Shannon is easy to contact and replies very quickly. Shannon and Glendoveers understand what an important day events are for people and you can tell through your interactions that they try to make the day as perfect as possible. They have been beyond flexible and accommodating during these changing and uncertain covid times. A hidden party house. The exterior could use some tender loving care, but the inside is quaint, with a bar and a fireplace. Food was better than I expected and service was very good. Trying to keep a long story short. Glendoveers Banquet Hall. First off- this place looks beautiful from the outside in. We waited for the "bridal show" that they put on at the end of last year because we were told that if you book at that show you would receive one free hour of open bar. So we booked- on the day of booking we were told " we will have 7 or 8 meetings from now until your wedding." (we had 4- that I had to initiate each time) The female representative of this facility and their coordinator for events was nice and professional mostly but was very beat around the bush with details (acts like they have high standards and that its just policy to give the yes answer to all requests). All said and done following the wedding and hearing some disturbing stories from guests who were taken aback (hand hit when trying to take a roll from the buffet at the end- employee told him " this food is for our families now and watching employees leave the venue with to- go containers full of our food. Meanwhile no to- go's for Bride and groom) Now noticing all of the details that were discussed and missed my parents contacted the venue. They listed al l of the things that were missed details. things like: -Appropriate variety and quality of alcohol served on the open bar (smirnoff vodka, and uv cake is not top shelf) My guest was refused a scotch at 10:15 was told that they were out of scotch. He saw the bottle at the beginning of the evening was not even full. So they did not replenish the "open bar" as a bottle was empty. Champagne toast was supposed to include cranberry so they were pink- that didn't happen. Bar closed 10 minutes early before dinner (which wasn't supposed to close at all because we paid for 4 hours and were supposed to have one free- but once they found out that we were actually right after the lady who was handling the evening addressed ME- the BRIDE at my own wedding to discuss this matter. It was too late to open the bar for dinner. While this was happening- they refused my guests and my father who offered to pay so my poor guests would have a drink when they ate. The menu stated above the bar on the television "CALL BAR- which was supposed to say top shelf, and included CORN BREAD" to go along with our BBQ menu- they told us they didn't have any corn bread so they served dinner rolls. Embarrassing. It was discussed the first row of chairs would be sturdy for the ceremony for my immediate family multiple times- they were the white flimsy chairs. Desserts were kept on their plastic circle trays from the bakery- when it was discussed that they would be arranged with height and beautifully displayed. Smores bar was flat laid on the table as well when I specifically asked if I should bring things to elevate the desert arrangements. Keeping in mind at the bridal show things were wonderfully displayed (basically a bait and switch type event) ALL OVER- when the meeting was scheduled to speak with the owner- the female representative was present on the conference call and my parents and guests were literally called liars. We were told our guests were sloppy drunk and out of hand at they had to "hide" the alcohol which is offensive. I cant recall one person who i thought was drunk at my wedding. I was told that my groomsmen and groom trashed the venue before the ceremony (my husband and the best man were the only ones that are drinking age and they most certainly were not drinking beer before the wedding- and ABSOLUTELY DID NOT trash the establishment before the ceremony) Literally it was offensive to me the amount of lies that the female representative told about the evening that she was present for approximately a half hour of ceremony. I am absolutely sick and offended that my parents spent thousands of dollars for the owner to say " All that I'm admitting to is the missing corn bread and ill send you a check for 325 dollars" My parents knew the conversation was going nowhere so out of principal they ended the conversation accepting the 325 dollars. He called my guests, my parents, my husband and myself liars. In the end he only sent a $300.00 check. So lesson learned. Voice record every meeting that you have with the representative for the events and or LITERALLY write and have her sign on official document- get specific with it. I've never been married before and I apparently trusted that this was an upstanding venue to work with. It's sad- but I was wrong. I can only hope this helps some future brides. We worked with Shannon at Glendoveers as we planned our wedding reception in July. We had met her a year earlier when we explored Rochester for all sorts of venue options, but we immediately fell in love with Glendoveers. The hall has a sort of magic to it. It has soft lighting, a large dance floor, and such gorgeous natural beauty outside the hall. We had to figure out all our reception details over email and the phone because we live in California, so Shannon was incredibly accommodating for us. We were able to drop off the majority of our decorations the day before the wedding to make the day of less stressful. Shannon and her team made the hall look absolutely beautiful by the time we arrived. The cocktail hour was incredible- all the guests loved the hors d'oeuvres and the drinks and the staff took great care of everyone. The buffet dinner was equally amazing. The kids had a blast playing in the field outside and everyone loved roasting marshmallows for s'mores on their back patio. Everything was so easy for us thanks to Shannon's help. I hope to be able to attend an event there in the future because we didn't eat very much on our wedding day! read more
