We hired Madeline's Catering for our wedding at ArtisanWORKS. The initial call with Madeline was bizarre and we felt like we really had no voice in our wants. She often interrupted and would deny requests or suggestions we made. For the day-of we had minimal staff visible at our wedding. Many of our guests said the same and didn't have anything to eat. I was understandably busy but I also didn't see anyone around or I would have grabbed a passed hors d'oeuvres. The food itself was fine. The one bite I had was good. We had much fewer guests than we expected and had estimated more for food purposes. It didn't seem like we got what we paid for. We asked for a champagne toast and they completely forgot it. We did get refunded for that, but as experienced event folks, this should have been planned and executed easily. As for Madeline's customer service, she often has others answer emails on her behalf. There is something off with this business. It doesn't seem honest, it seems deceptive. Manipulative and controlling. I would NOT recommend their booze package. It's a rip off. Buy your own alcohol. I'd recommend being firm with the company about your desires. You're paying them for your special day. The things we discussed weren't unreasonable but she made us feel like we were. There was so much shame in the discussion we had. We were offered a refund for our experiences but it doesn't make up for the feeling we got from Madeline herself. I truly hope they improve their business practices. They're positioned in a popular wedding venue and likely get so much business just for that! We could have shopped around but went for the ease of having catering in-house. It was not an enjoyable experience working with Madeline. We felt frightened to request anything, recommend anything, or even ask for accountability. Madeline herself didn't respond to any of our emails after the event. She never even apologized. read more

I booked Madeline's Catering for my mother's retirement party on June 25, 2022 and truly wish I had not. First and foremost, I will say that I enjoyed speaking with Scot. He was extremely helpful and answered all my questions prior to the event which is why the awful experience was completely unexpected. For my 70 person event, Madeline's Catering only provided two servers. While the ladies were a delight, it was clear that more help was needed to ensure a smooth event. The package I paid for included hand-passed hors d'oeuvres and the staff was not provided with adequate materials to do their job. No toothpicks were provided for the meatballs and guests had to use their fingers to grab each one. They did not provide marinara sauce for the arancini as outlined in our contract. The chicken empanadas were dry and the mini crab cakes were burnt. Additionally, the waitstaff had to pass the hors d'oeuvres on a small dessert plate as no proper tray was provided. At the bar, I specifically requested and paid for glassware, however they did not bring enough highball glasses to accommodate 70 people and no wine glasses were provided. When they ran out of glasses, they had to find and use plastic cups to continue bar service. For the buffet, no butter was provided for the rolls despite that being in the contract. The oven roasted potatoes were bland, the chicken french was dry, and the top sirloin was only prepared to medium, which meant a lot of our guests were unable to enjoy it. The frosting on most of the cupcakes was smeared and despite requesting white and yellow frosted cupcakes, we received brown and white frosted cupcakes. Before writing this review, I reached out to the company with my concerns about this event, but they did not respond. I would strongly reconsider hiring this company for your special event. Please make the best use of your money and book with a business that values the customer experience and follows through on their contractual obligations. I would hate to see another person's special day ruined by this company. TLDR: Madeline's Catering did not fully abide by the contract by providing all of the promised foods and materials. The food itself was unpleasant and they did not provide adequate staffing for my event. While Scot and the onsite waitstaff were friendly and helpful, I would not recommend this business. read more

Madelines catered my daughter's bridal brunch a couple weeks ago. It was sooo good. Everyone loved all the dishes, but the Creme Brulee french toast and the pasta with asparagus and tomatoes were everyone's most favorite! The fruit was so fresh as well! Very professional staff, very easy to communicate with. More than willing to mix up the menu to accommodate what we were looking for. I felt the cost was very fair for the quality! I used Madeline's for my engagement party. As an event planner, expectations are always high for any event we have. I have used Madeline's many times for client events, and everything has always been wonderful. Our engagement party was no exception! My fiancé and I wanted seafood for our engagement party, so we went for a clambake. Madeline put together a creative menu that was inclusive of picky eaters. Everything was delicious. My father who has a compliant about most dining experiences, could not stop saying how wonderful the food was. The staff was prompt, hardworking, and so wonderful to all our guests. On June 17 of this year, my daughter was married and Madeline's catered the reception dinner at Artisan Works ! Madeline and her crew were absolutely the best! The service, courtesy and class that they demonstrated went well beyond any at any wedding that I have attended. The food (we did a three station multi-cultural cuisine format with some vegetarian) was across the board delicious! Everyone at the event, without any exception, raved about how good the food and the service were. Artisan Works is a fabulous venue for a wedding or any social event and our guests could not stop talking about how interesting and entertaining it was just to be at a party at such a unique place. In noting Laura P's review, I haven't used Madeline's myself. We hosted one event at Arftisan Works many years ago when she was just starting out that partnership with Artisan Works. We were allowed to cater that not-for-profit event ourselves (I don't think Louis would allow that anymore). Needless to say, I've attended several events over the years at Artisan Works and sampled the food. Some has been mediocre, some has been outstanding. I think a lot depends upon the level of $ per plate that is being spent. Just attended a wedding reception for well-over 200 where the food was so-so. But about two years ago, the same individuals held an event at Artisan Works (much, much smaller) where the menu was a bit higher end and the result simply divine. The atmosphere at Artisan Works itself raises the experience level so much higher than your typical party house. read more

Madeline was so quick and helpful to sort out our revised wedding plans and the food was excellent! Our wedding plans changed last minute (from having it at a venue to ending up with a little ceremony and dinner at a family members house) due to covid and Madeline's Catering helped us out big time. They truly made the experience as pleasant and stress free as possible. In about a week and a half before the wedding, we were able to order catering for twenty people. We ordered the mini vegetarian tacos and coconut shrimp for appetizers and then we had top sirloin of beef, chicken marsala, garlic mashed potatoes, seasonal fresh vegetables, and two entrees for a couple vegetarians in the family. Everything was delicious! The mini vegetarian tacos stood out almost people's favorite, they were unique and so tasty, but we were impressed with everything we had ordered. The drop off service was flawless and they were so respectful and friendly. We do not have photos back from our photographer but I will update with photos when we have them, if photos were taken on the food. Had so much fun last night at the Artison works!! Madeline was catering a scavenger hunt and I was absolutely blown away by her food. Everything was beyond delicious. We started with apps, going into a full coarse meal and ended with desert. It was a German type of food that I had never had and I was not disappointed what so ever! Madeline and her team catered our wedding reception. We planned the event from out of state 8 months in advance. Madeline was the picture of efficiency; with organized menus and a pastry shop suggestion (phenomenal), she helped us construct the exact event we imagined. The food was delicious (everyone raved about it) and the team that served it was accommodating, diligent, and friendly. They even made up a plate of desserts for my husband and me and set it aside to be sure we'd get to taste them. My only disappointment is that they are not located in Colorado so I can use them for all our events! read more

Madeline's Catering was not what I expected. She was not as responsive as I would have expected (I never did get the bill I kept asking for) and the food ended up being mediocre at best. I was very disappointed. It's too bad since we have a lot of catered events and we're always looking for something new. I wouldn't recommend Madeline's but would highly recommend Giuseppe's on Spencerport Rd. They are VERY responsive and accomodating and their food is excellent! And prices are unbeatable!! My now husband and I picked Madeline's catering for our wedding this year. To be fair, the food was delicious and some of the wait staff were really nice. Everything else combined would never let me allow any of my friends or family select this caterer (not that they would after my wedding anyways). Madeline was difficult to get a hold of and the bar service was TERRIBLE. Guests were waiting in line for over 30 minutes to get drinks despite us letting her know that it was a drinking crowd! The bar ran out of lots of different drinks and some of the groom's family went without salad. After the wedding we had to deal with extra charges, she lost my check, etc etc. All in all, I would avoid this vendor at all costs read more

We used Madeline's catering for our daughter's wedding at Artisan Works. If you want to have an event there you more or less have to use their catering because no one else is allowed to use the kitchen, refrigeration, dishes, etc. The food was all good; nothing outstanding, but all tasty. The staff was all professional with the exception of one individual that argued the point of every request. I was told that if you have cupcakes and cookies the guests need to serve themselves on napkins instead of plates; kind of hard to juggle napkins with a cupcake and cookies back to your table. My daughter had a cheesecake, cookies, and cupcakes for her wedding since the groom does not like cake. When the bakery brought the food they were not allowed to put the cheesecake or cannolis in the refrigerator so they were left out on a table in the prep area. When it was time to serve the cheesecake it was nothing but a pile of mush. Very very disappointing. read more
