I didn't realize that the survey might be incorrect until the builder next door built his foundation encroaching on my land. After looking closely at the survey, I saw what appeared to be a mistake. I sent them an email to that effect, asking them how they arrived at their conclusions. I was rudely told that the surveyors are intelligent and know what they're doing. I responded that if I am diagnosed with a disease, I want to see my biopsy and blood results, and still want to know how the diagnosis was arrived at, in spite of the fact that the doctor is very intelligent. I asked again and asked if the historical records for the house, which is 100 years old, were accessed and, if so, how I could access them. I was then told that I didn't pay enough to get that information (I was charged the typical fee for a survey... not less than any other quote I received). I asked how much they would charge to come back and redo the survey just on the side of the house in question. I was given a price of $250. When I agreed to the price, there was dead silence. No response. I let them know again that I was interested but they did not respond.

We recently moved to our new home and had no record of a survey recorded with the town. I contacted Jim's office and spoke with his wonderful wife, Becky. She immediately got us a fair quote and an estimated timetable. Jim diligently did his research and was able to stakeout boundary lines and corners around our property. By the end of the survey, we ended up with significantly more property than originally thought; some of which was being encroached upon. A map was provided to us, and upon request, Jim speedily made a map for us on Mylar paper as well.
