I went to Dr. Spivak for an excruciating pain in my lower back. This has been with me for a decade…read morebut has gotten worse every year to the point of severe pain affecting even basic functioning like walking. After viewing MRIs he recommended ablations to my sacroiliac joint and facet joints( which had brought relief in the past to a medium degree). Both were done but we're relatively unaffective. I'd say the least effective I've experienced. I know he's a neurosurgeon MD that does surgeries and I said " where do we go from here". This is where I believe he was uncaring. He crudely said " I'm not a magician and there's nothing that can be done" . After my surprise and astonishment I then said , "so what am I to do, live the rest of my life in terrible pain " and his answer was simply "yes". He said go back to your pain management Dr. and maybe he can help with the pain. Fast forward to my pain management doctors recommendation of an specific orthopedic surgeon. After this surgeon said it would be tricky but I can help 6 months and 2 surgeries later I'm feeling like a different person. Still some residual pain from the last surgery but the pain that I lived with for years is nearly gone. Please go to a Surgeon who cares and doesn't just blow you off. I have zero respect for Dr. Spivak. His skill and his bedside manner is lacking terribly.

The positive reviews here are fake. They are from reviewers that only have about two reviews total…read more The negative reviewers are actual Yelp users with lots of reviews. Dr Spivak abruptly dismissed me when he decided he could not do surgery on me. I then asked what could be causing my issues and he said he did not know or care. Many years later, I learned one of my legs was shorter than the other. A little concern and effort back then could have saved me a lot of pain and damage to the disks in my lower back. His only concern was if he could make money on a surgery on me.

Prior to seeing Dr Chiles, I went from my primary, to urgent care, to the ER, and back to urgent…read morecare, where a lower spine injury was finally diagnosed. I went to a spine specialist and left the consult with a bad feeling. I was referred to Dr Chiles by two co-workers. My first contact was with Sarah and Jessica in the office. They were absolutely fantastic and made this stressful situation so much better. At my consult, I felt comforted and impressed. Dr Chiles is very knowledgeable, yet spoke to me in terms I could understand. I was provided as long of an appointment as I needed to have all my options presented and all my questions answered. Actually, he provided so much pertinent information, many questions were answered before I asked them. My consult was informative, comforting, and left me with a true sense of hope. I needed a laminectomy, decompression and fusion of my L3-L5 vertebrae. We scheduled my surgery at NYP Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville. Dr Chiles and his surgical (as well as his office) staff are the absolute best. Together, they resolved my crippling back pain, got me standing upright, back on my feet and back to enjoying life pain free. Thank you to everyone who assisted me especially Dr Chiles! I highly recommend Dr Chiles to anyone with a spinal injury/illness. KMB

NJ Spine & Orthopedic - Dr. Scott Katzman, MD & Board-Certified Spine Surgeon

I have an appointment end of September 2018 for 2 disc replacements. I have been in need of this…read moresurgery for about 10 years, putting it off, no money and can't find a doctor anywhere that I would trust, ofc, I am in , Vero Beach FL. I Googled for weeks on spine doctors all over. I came across an ad for Spine & Orthopedic 1-855-586-2615. I saw so many awesome reviews about this Dr. Katzman,Ortho Surgeon at Spine & Orthopedics Center. Thought I would give them a call ask questions and advised to send my MRI and Disc, notes so I did. To sum it all up, I got a call from Dr. Katzman, talked to me about my problem, and offered to see me, and consult me over the phone. Really, what Dr. would do that? With Dr. Katzman's phone call and his knowledge of my problem, I felt comfortable, and was ready to have this procedure done. Next phone call came from, NJ Spine and Orthopedics, Dr. Katzman's team of employees. They called to set up my appointment, got me scheduled and on the right track, which I could not afford this surgery even with my so called insurance. Few days later, another phone call from NJ Spine & Ortho Center, this time from (Ethan P) Senior Patient Advocate 973-788-5028 He works for Dr. Katzman's team. Ethan made it all possible, and easy to talk to. He helped with my financial part, as in the amount I would owe out of pocket, even as far as setting up payment arrangements, and to the surgery date. Ethan, was awesome, don't think I could have managed this without Ethan's and Admins help. My so far experience. I will do a follow up to this review after my surgery, stay tuned. I will then leave my phone # incase anyone would like to reach out to me for advice, on my experience. I have never heard of a Doctor calling their patients to talk about their concerns, without asking them come into the office for consultation, which then you have your office fee.
