BRUNCH!
Babs F.

We stumbled upon this place during peak covid restrictions. When we came in we were a bit confused because we didn't see anyone working, we kind of stood in the doorway (11:15am on a Sunday). When we saw an employee eating breakfast we asked if him if they were open. He said yes and pointed to the back of the restaurant. There was an employee at the counter improperly putting on his mask who pointed to the menu. The menu was GREAT. The menu has a lot of healthy food options and they even serve "Impossible Burger" which, we ordered in an English Muffin breakfast sandwich. Once we ordered they warned us that we were "early" so nothing was ready or prepped. We laughed that they said we were "early" because we were there after 11am and there were other customers behind us - how are we "early" when they are open? Anyway, since there was going to be a long wait, we both said we'd take a coffee and that would have been a good time for them to say, "We didn't make any so, it'll be another 20 minutes AND, we don't have cream... " but, I digress. My friend and I laughed at what a cool place it was and how the nice slackers just fumbled along. There was even one girl that just stood there. Literally, she stood there and didn't move. We've never seen anyone look so bored. Ever. The food is pretty good. We'd be back for that and the juice bar. I just hope they were having an off day and that normally things run smoother. The front of the house staff should know that saying the sandwich we ordered was "vegan" when it wasn't is a big no-no and vegans will lose their mind if you make that mistake. I'm mot vegan so, you lucked out. We will be back for the food and also to see if that girl is still standing there! Hahahahaha

We tried the pineapple juice, mango tango and some beet juice based smoothie with ginger. The beet based smoothie was the best!

We tried multiple appetizers and started with cocktails! Everything was delicious. The entrees offered options that were vegan, pescatarian and of course meat options. Everyone was satisfied and enjoyed their meals. Some even saved room for dessert. The crème brûlée and the chocolate cake were definite hits. Note: The menus are provided on an iPad like device and you are able to get pretty detailed information about your selections.

During that call, the hostess assured us that we would not be charged the $50 cancellation charge. As it turned out, we were able to come in that same evening and dined at the restaurant, first enjoying drinks in front of the fireplace then being serviced by our favorite waiter, Paul. Despite this, a $300 cancellation fee was later charged to our card. When I contacted the restaurant to resolve the issue, the matter was escalated to management. The response focused solely on reiterating the OpenTable cancellation policy, without addressing the specific circumstances: we called in advance, were told we would not be charged, and ultimately honored the reservation by dining that evening. We have also stayed at the hotel and previously rented the private dining room, so this was not a one-time visit. That history made the interaction particularly disappointing. Policies are important, but so is discretion and guest communication. In this instance, the service experience did not reflect the level of hospitality one would expect. I hope this feedback encourages a review of how guest concerns are handled moving forward.

The Crunch Wrap, 10/10 - great flavors, good amount of food for the price. Absolutely amazing, would definitely get it again Peach Cobbler Sticky Bun - Also 10/10, the cinnamon roll itself was still soft, and the peach cobbler on top was expertly executed.... If I lived in MI I would be BIG BIG from these, they are out standing. Banana Pudding was also really good (to be fair banana pudding is my favorite desert so I've had quite a bit and I'm pretty hard on them) - you can tell it is all made from scratch, the pudding itself is thick, the flavor is there, little heavy on the whipped cream that's mixed in with it, though also good flavors and can tell its home made as well; it was good - but not my favorite. Will definitely be back whenever work sends me back out "this way" (more commonly sent to Grand Rapids/Battle Creek but I would definitely make the drive if I'm sent even to Battle Creek) 110% Worth a try if you haven't already

Sure! Here's a simple, positive review you can use:…read more Great place! The staff were friendly ( Lulu and Makayla). I had a really good experience and would definitely recommend it to others. I'll be coming back again!

This is one of the busier places on a weekday where it's usually office workers like me coming out for lunch. Even so I was able to walk in and get a table right away by the window. I was able to get a drink right away while I look through the menu. Lots of options but the Dirty Chai caught my eye. I could pick the size and if I wanted hot or cold. Tempted to get waffles but I was craving eggs. My waiter gave a good review of Mediterranean 3 eggs. I saw we can choose the protein so I went with the smoked salmon. Delicious choice! Eggs were cooked just right with runny yolk as well. I will try this place again to try their other items.

The food was great but didn't have a phenomenal taste for the price point it's at. I ordered the Makanek Sausage Hash and a hot matcha latte. The matcha latte was great and had the right ratio of milk to matcha (also wasn't too sweet). The hash was delicious and the presentation was incredible but unfortunately, it was over spiced for my liking. I could taste freshly crushed black pepper in every bite and it over powered the other flavors of the dish. At a higher price point, I'd expect the dish to have a better combo of flavors. Definitely still recommend this spot but it's not the same as I remember it!

I wanted to get a shawarma, but we thought--let's do something a little different. So we ended up going over here to try the 5 piece chicken tender and fries, the almond chicken with the rice and veggies and of course, a fattoush. First of all, I absolutely love Dearborn for having so many halal options. This place is no exception. I did notice how many to go orders there were on a weekday during lunch. It was quite a few. The place inside wasn't that busy, but people kept going in and out to pick up their to go orders, so we took it a a sign that must mean that they were good. The almond chicken was more expensive than we expected, because online, it said it was $17, but in the restaurant it was $22. Okay, no harm, no foul, but it's something to take note of. Although I have to say, I like the chicken tenders with fries better. The spicy mayo sauce was good, as was the avacado type sauce. The fattoush was great and the small was big enough for both my husband and I. Adding the chicken tenders to the fattoush was a great choice. Although the total was higher than we expected, I appreciate their customer service-- they were sweet and gave us drinks on the house. That kind of customer service keeps us coming back for more, and I'm sure I will see them again.

The food itself was decent--nothing particularly memorable, but perfectly acceptable for a hotel breakfast. The selection covered the basics, and everything tasted fresh enough to start the day. Service, however, was quite slow. It seemed clear that the restaurant was understaffed, and the few employees working were doing their best but couldn't keep up with the number of guests. As a result, it took a while to get certain requested refills on the buffet. Overall, the breakfast was fine, especially considering it was included with the stay, but the wait time and lack of staff made the experience less enjoyable than it could have been. I feel confident that lunch and dinner times are more accommodated for more expected guests and have more servers.

They open for early breakfast, close late morning and reopen for evening dinner. The menu is well balanced and has plenty of options for most any tastes. The food is mostly good and is reasonably priced. Looking for a cocktail? There's a full bar available during dinner hours and they have daily happy hour specials. Here's My Top Three Favorites And One To Avoid: Rueben / Rachel Sandwich. If you like a good, meaty Reuben or Rachel, get this. It's a really satisfying sandwich. A+. Smothered Chicken dinner is quite good. It's a grilled chicken breast, covered in gravy with your choice of two sides. Another A+ in my book. Fish and Chips are good here. Crispy batter with a fairly thick cut of white fish and comes with a good amount of fries, too. I'd give it an A. Quesadillas with your choice of beef or chicken. Not great. I got the chicken version, and there was an OK amount of chicken, but not a lot of cheese. More light and crispy instead of chewy and savory. For some odd reason, they sprinkle canned Parmesan cheese on top. (D)
