Unfortunately this placed missed the mark. Got the Zhoug Knight and Juicy Sean. It was interesting but the pita was too thick IMO and the "flavors" that people were talking about did not amaze me. There was very little chicken as you can see in the picture. The flavors, yes, was unique and almost had an Indian kick to it. The walleye (Juicy Sean) was a little better tasting but overall there are better Mediterranean places out there. Small store not very busy at around 5pm. Staff was friendly. They do have happy hour 4-6 on weekdays which is $2 off their sandwiches' read more

This was INCREDIBLE, new favorite! So much flavor! I can't wait to order again! I ordered via DoorDash, so I can't speak to the vibe, but I'm sure it's great! read more

The food here is so yummy, flavorful, and delicious. Spiedo's entire concept (from the food, to the interior, to the 'graphic design is my passion'-esque posts on social media) is unapologetically vibrant. Please check out their IG; the design of their promotional posters are so avant-garde, it might send my graphic design professor into an aneurism. I went here for lunch and got the Zhoug Knight wrap. It was beyond flavorful. The interior is vibrant and intimate. Service was also great. Spiedo just might be my favorite Mediterranean spot in Ann Arbor. Can't wait to come back. read more

Spiedo is putting out the most exciting, innovative, and (most importantly) delicious food in the area. I highly recommend this restaurant for a casual dinner (or a great lunch). I cannot express enough how thoughtful their food is, and service is quick and friendly. Spiedo does rotating menus of wraps, rice bowls, and sides. The wraps and rice bowls are amazing (the spicy pork, walleye, chicken, kielbasa, and spicy tofu are all really, really great. The falafel's the only one I'd forgo for the others). As good as the main dishes are, the sides are even better. The farmer's cheese is amazing. They had a lemon chicken rice soup for a while that was one of the best soups I've ever had. Other ones I've loved from past and current menu rotations are the roasted cabbage, griddled potatoes, eggplant, phkali (carrot puree) dip, cucumber, and heirloom tomato. It's hard to go wrong with the sides - I suggest you prioritize them when deciding what to order. The creativity is just phenomenal - dishes are packed with fresh herbs, lots of texture, and flavor combinations that work very well. The chocolate tahini milkshake is amazing as well. Lots of vegetarian options and the rice bowls are gluten free. read more

Food is fantastic but something must be going on with their air conditioning bc it's sooooo hot in there. Sadly I won't be returning until the weather is better or their air conditioner is fixed! Otherwise this place is amazing and I highly recommend. Now only if we could get Takoi in Ann Arbor too... read more

Amazing food...and generous quantities of it! A single kid's chicken/rice fed both of our tweens. The staff were kind to translate the menu/sauce options and we all enjoyed our choices. The beverages are unique and refreshing. Though the ambiance is unimpressive, it works. Check it out! read more

Quick & Easy lunch spot in AA. Super tasty and has lot of outdoor space. Service is very attentive.

Tried the tofu bowl and it was delicious. Very nice portion with delicious sauces on the side. Paired with a diet cream soda. 10/10 and good service too. Lots of seating read more

We returned to Spiedo to try the New RIP Smash bowl with pork and kimchi. I had intended to take a picture of the RIP Smash, but I took a bite and just kept eating. It was such a delicious and flavorful bowl that I forgot that "the camera eats first." read more

This was my first time trying Spiedo after hearing a lot of good things about it and it lived up to my expectations. I tried the zhoug knight, farmers cheese, hirishi dip and spicy pork and rice. If you only want to try one thing I highly recommend getting a dip. The flatbread with the dips is amazing. Honestly I love the flatbread on its own as well. The restaurant is really cute and pink on the inside and the service is quick. read more

Wow what an interesting restaurant! Fast casual, middle eastern-Mediterranean style food. The staff all very nice and attentive. The ambiance was weird to be honest and you are asked to tip 20% which is high for a restaurant that you order at the register. The food was amazing. Flavors I've never tasted before and they were done so well. read more

Wait - the eggplant is also amazing. Would've taken a pic but ate it too quickly. I got delivery this time and it was neatly packaged. Eggplant had this delightful sweet and savory vibe with great quality tahini and almonds. Wow amazing. I also got the bowl which I would say could be skipped / I wish they had like kale salads with the option to add protein. Maybe an area for future development read more

The food here is exquisite. I have been here multiple times and try something different each time. Every menu item I've had does not miss. The dishes are very flavorful and also visually appealing. I truly love the various vegetables sides they have. I always leave so full but never in the disgusting type of way because the ingredients are so fresh and healthy. All the workers are very nice. I also like how you can order more using your phone & it makes it easier if you have multiple people who want to pay separately or that just arrive late. The vibes inside are very interesting with moody lighting and a great color scheme all throughout. I can't wait to come again because I heard they change their menu depending on the season and what ingredients are readily available/freshest. read more

I enjoy this place, the guy who owns it is mildly pretentious irl--but at the bare minimum it's good quality food with a (somewhat) inventive menu. Outside of the Midwest I would rate it lower (no you could not compete in NYC), but for this area I find the flavor profiles sufficiently intriguing. Note: Rice has been undercooked occasionally (somewhat of a sin for a dish composed 75% percent of rice) so that process needs to be more standardized. Also, the shake is served in the these silly plastic cups with a super short straw. The plastic always has a strange smell to it--since you have to lean down to drink, it is a lot more obvious than it should be. Would suggest glass cups both for aesthetics and enjoyment of the whole 6 dollar endeavor. Really the issue I have is Spiedo doesn't know if it wants to be fully 'sit down' or fast causal, and that is reflected in both the look of there restaurant and their plating. For example why oh why is the sauce in to-go cups? Yeah it's overpriced, but I hope he is able to stick around. I look forward to them getting more creative with the menu, clearly they have the culinary ability to do so. read more

This place stands out in the generally bland food scene of Ann Arbor. This small place is colorful and provides a cozy yet stylish ambiance. The waiter made sure to talk us through the menu and made some great recommendations. We split the zhoug knight sandwich and the roasted beets for a quick lunch. It came out quickly and be they cut the wrap already in half which shows that they pay attention to detail. Flavors are spot on and the wrap was slightly spicy. They make their flatbread in house and it's so yummy. Will definitely come back! read more

Eggplant was outstanding. And, for New Yorkers, Dr. Browns Cel-Ray soda! The Tofu sandwich was also great.

Healthy, not heavy, with a lot of flavor. I got the Zhoug Knight wrap which was just the right portion, and the roasted beets which were good but too heavy on the seeds/ground spices for me. For those with tree nut allergies, there are a lot of different tree nuts on the menu. Also, there's not a lot of seating in this restaurant. read more

I had tried Speido during their tasting menu days before they opened and they did not disappoint! Now that they're open: also don't disappoint. We are obsessed. As lovers of Mediterranean food, Italian, big flavors, etc. we were blown away by the fusions, quality and BIG flavor punches Spiedo provides. Our wraps were insane and the potatoes were crispy, yummy and creamy with the sauce below. Next time I'll have to try the tahini chocolate milkshake (dairy free!!). Atmosphere is a 10/10 - perfect for an Ann Arbor summer day on the patio. We are so glad Spiedo is around when our not-so-Midwest tastebuds start craving something yummy read more

A hidden gem in Ann Arbor. Food: I got the phkali, the asparagus, and the roasted beets, and all three were absolutely delicious. The flavors were bright and bold - perfect for a hot summer day. Service: I immediately felt welcomed walking in, as the staff were friendly and accommodating. Ambiance: The restaurant is small, but well-organized. A cute, colorful spot for casual good eats. Next time I'm back in A2, I'd love to try more of the menu. read more

WOW 5/5!! This is probably my new favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor! We came in around 7pm on a weekday night and it was busy but we did not have to wait. We sat down and ordered but there is also an option to order at the counter if you already know what you want. The food came out pretty quickly and all of the food was fresh, light, and flavorful!! The roasted beets were definitely the star of the show. Overall, it felt like fancy food but without the price of fancy food. I love this place and can't wait to go back!! read more

This place is lovely and probably my favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor at the moment. All of the food is well seasoned and you can tell that dishes were conceptualized with a focus on texture as well. The sauces that they are served with are quite unique with things like Tahini Ranch. The dishes are mostly sandwiches with different proteins served with onions, spiedo sauce and other veggies. I've had the Zhoug Knight a few times as well as the other sandwiches with beef and pork. The sides are all veggie focused and is where I think the restaurant really shines. Haven't had a ton of cocktails here, but the ones I've had were solid. Only qualms with this place are that it's pretty small and getting a seat can be difficult, AND it can be pretty easy to run up a $90 tab between two people with a sandwich, side, and drink read more

The food is great, but somewhat expensive for what you get. And if you order carryout, they add an additional 18% fee onto your check!!!! The second time that I dined in (maybe 4 months ago), I asked for salt and lots of pepper, since there were no salt and pepper shakers anywhere in sight. What I received were sides of lots of salt and half as much pepper (the complete opposite of what I requested). So I requested more pepper. And I was then told that they would have to charge me if I wanted more!!! Never in my life have I eaten at a restaurant that charges for GROUND PEPPER!! Why not just make salt and pepper shakers available to customers like most restaurants and simply be done with it? I spent more than $40 on my dine-in meal for myself and they wanted to nickel and dime me for ground pepper?? This whole incident left me with such negative vibes that I haven't been back since, and I probably won't ever return. read more

Came here last night and enjoyed the heck out of my meal! I love Mediterranean food and they really knocked it out of the park here. The place is very unassuming and gives you a bit of a hole in the wall feeling but don't let that fool you, the food is top notch. Service was great as well and the host really took the time to explain the menu to us first timers. We ordered the zhoug knight wrap, the tirshi dip, the roasted beets and the rip smash bowl. Everything, and I mean everything, was amazing and elevated humble food with the refined way they paired everything together. Their draft cocktails were also fun albeit on the very small side for $12. read more

We always look for non-standard, highly rated, food options whenever we take trips no matter how short or long they are. A quick yelp search of Ann Arbor helped locate Spiedo and we were extremely pleased. The food was as delicious as the pictures looked. Don was extremely helpful and patient in reviewing the menu, options, and his recommendations. The place is small, cozy, well lit, and had plenty of parking options. My wife asked if I'd get the same thing again to which I replied "No, but only because I want to try everything else". read more

I had the Return of the Smash wrap! Really flavorful! I'll come with a bigger group next time to try out the side dishes as well.

Ate there twice--both times the dishes couldn't be further in taste from what an authentic ethnic cuisine should taste like. I pointed out to the owner that the ingredients seemed to be very different from what these dishes normally have--surprisingly, the owner was in denial. I am fortunate to have lived in many countries and it felt quite wrong to see such cultural appropriation, while not performing the due diligence to represent the ethnic food accurately. Both times, I brought the food to my friends (born and raised in the countries where the food featured on Spiedo's menu originated) and neither of them recognized the food, which says a lot. read more

The food is very good as it is 5 star quality. However, the rice bowls had a limited amount of meat chicken for a $16/17 bowl. It was mostly veggie and rice in not a very big bowl for the price,, and on top of that is the mandatory 18% gratuity even for takeout. I like that they are working to ensure tips for the staff and it makes sense that the staff is super friendly and helpful. The ambience was nice, as there are tables to sit and eat. If the prices were better for the amount of food (especially the protein), I would have given 5 stars, but probably won't go back given the costs. read more

Spiedo is my boyfriend's favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor and I love it too! the food is great. So, naturally, for his 30th he wanted Spiedo for dinner. His family was in town visiting with his baby niece so we ordered the food to go. We ordered vegetable sides that normally are a sizable portion in the restaurant, however, to go these portions were minuscule. We paid $14 for 4 singular potatoes and $13 for a tiny portion of asparagus. Spiedo, do better! We want to keep loving you. With that being said, we won't be ordering take out sides again any time soon... read more
