I've visited a number of wine shops in Asheville, and have been most impressed with WineStore. It is clean and bright, and radiates positive energy. The staff have always been very helpful, and their recommendations have always been spot on. And they have prices that are not only the lowest in Asheville, but in some cases are lower on great Caifornia wines than they were back in California. Who knew? I was there today, and picked up some Rombauer chardonnay @ $35 and Caymus Napa cabvernet at $65. Most shops have those at $50 and $100. They also have very very good "value" wines - a Carneros chardonnay that's almost as good as Rombauer at $15, for example. I just wish they were closer to my house, I would be there every week.

Yesterday I was alone and needed to stop to get our cigarettes, they have the lowest price on our brand. I walked around and was pleasantly pleased at the stock they have available. It really is a small grocery but like a convenience store. They also serve hot food and pizza. I only rated it 2 stars because I found the staff unfriendly bordering on rude. I'll only go inside again if I absolutely have no choice. I can spend 20 cent more on cigarettes where I can get friendly service.

I searched on their website and saw Dobra Tea in west Asheville was open and sells their tea! I walked over and have been here for 45 minutes enjoying my chai! I honestly thought I would just get it to go but it's a lovely atmosphere! A couple next to me is clearly on a first date and I'm eavesdropping and it sounds like it's going really well! I got 2 boxes of the Asheville tea company tea and an iced chai latte. So grateful to be able to support west Asheville during this time of rebuilding.

They have options for those who want to sit at a table and for those who want to sit on the floor. The tea selections are far and wide! The menu is huge! At first I was overwhelmed with the options, but the lady at the counter was nice and helpful with recommendations. We were bummed to have missed out on the lunch since the kitchen closes at 3pm, but that made us even more eager to come back at another time. Both dessert options we chose - the S'mores Tart and Black Sesame Ginger Cake - were delicious! I chose the masala tea with rooibos with oat milk and honey. I loved the way it was served, and even though I usually drink my tea straight, it was fun to experiment with the milk and honey. I will definitely be coming back many more times and check out their other locations too!

We each ordered individually, but tasted everyone's dish. Beef Tartare: beautifully presented and well balanced. Served with fried saltines (seasoned with Old Bay seasoning). Wood Grilled Asparagus: perfection! Absolutely LOVED the sauce gribiche! Braised Rabbit and Nettle Cavatelli: I thought this dish was stunning. The texture of the cavatelli could not be better and the flavors melded well together. Lardon added savoriness while the pickled ramps balanced the palate. Soft Herb & Pea Risotto: loved this in terms of texture but needed a touch of salt. We added a pinch of their house special salt (mined from a 100 year old salt mine), and it did the trick! Wild Mushroom Tagliatelle: this was my favorite item, though also, requiring a pinch of salt. I really appreciated that the truffle oil did not overpower the dish (that's a pet peeve of mine). We were provided with some truffle salt to enhance savoriness, which absolutely lifted the pasta to another level. Service all around was attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend if you're in town!

She said it was the best shaved ice she's ever had and way better than any she even had in Hawaii. I was intrigued and suggested to my husband we stop by after dinner one night. This cafe is soooo cute. I'm here on vacation and trying not to work, but if i needed to work for a few hours I would definitely go here. I'd work and eat one dessert after another. The mango shaved ice was even better than expected. It was ginormous and I was full from dinner, but did a pretty good job eating most of it because it was too delicious to stop. My husband got a piece of blueberry cheesecake and i couldn't help, but have a few bites of that as well. I was hoping to make it back a second (or third) time, but sadly don't think we are going to have time. Another reason to come back to Asheville and it may just be my first stop!
