I went to Skyland for a long 10 years for several prosthetic legs and orthotic braces. After many…read moreyears of open wounds and discomfort and many dozens of long trips for adjustments and constant and relentless reminders from the queen bee owner's wife who runs the business about how I was responsible if the insurance company didn't pay, which by the way they were ALWAYS paid promptly in full, I decided to go elsewhere and I am so happy to be walking pain free now. The final ill-fitting prosthetic was the last straw and the queen and the tech said they didn't know what to do with me. Similar to staying with the wrong partner or job too long, after parting ways one wonders why they endured it for so long. My new provider doesn't cut corners like this place did. In my opinion they are very nice people doing it for the money not out of compassion. They did teach me to question what exactly is meant when someone says that they will take care of you. The new place felt so bad after seeing my wounds from the prosthetic that they built me a whole new leg and a new brace that fits and works properly, what a relief.
