We instantly connected with her and appreciated her passion and creative energy. Our wedding photos were beyond our greatest expectations. The way that Caroline captures details and beautiful intimate moments allows us to relive the most precious moments of our special day. Caroline and Binh are incredibly professional, creative, and hard working. We were so impressed by them that I've recommended them to numerous other brides over the years and numerous friends have hired them! I love what she did for our engagement and wedding photos. I promised myself that I would shop around for photographers. Well she was the first photographer we interviewed and there was no way that I was going to choose anybody else. She really takes care of you. Such a caring person as well as her sidekick better known as her husband. I liked the fact that if you needed any help with anything with the wedding she was willing to help. I can't see very many photographers/companies doing that at all. I like the fact that she worked with us on figuring out our package. I will definitely come back for photos. How many has seen a photographer roll on grass, dirt and hot cement? *raises my hands* IT WAS CAROLINE!!! I was wondering why she wore all black during the past hot scorching weekend. It was crazy hot but Caroline was still super professional in black. My fiancee and I made an appointment to have engagement pictures taken. She was referred from a friend so we decided LET'S GO! My first impression of our meeting was that she genuinely cared and had a passion for my prespective of photography. Everyone one is different. Everyone has different tastes. She cared about my taste tho. It shocked me to always see her on the ground, on the floors, with dirt, and bits of grass in her hair. She was obviously sun-burned by the end of the day. It was hot so I was really happy when I suggested breaks she was ok with it. We were able to take pictures where I wanted and I loved that. She did not limit my amount of locations and for every place we saw potential she would park and we'd get out and take a couple more shots. The pictures came out awesome and I would really love to work with her again. I'll try to post up pics. Communication is the key and she was extremely quick to respond to all my calls and emails. Caroline and Binh at Sphynge Photography shot our wedding in Half Moon Bay this September. The photography was so important to us, and none of the potential photogs we had met with quite FELT right...we were getting nervous. Then we found Caroline and Sphynge through a recommendation from a friend, who was referred by a friend, who was referred by a friend...always an excellent sign. We were completely blown away, not only by Caroline's incredible work and artistic vision, but also by her personality. She REALLY cared. About us, our wedding, what we wanted from our photos, and our comfort. My (now) husband hated getting his photo taken. After our engagement session (it's required as part of the wedding package so Caroline can get a feel for how you respond to the camera and what photos you like/don't like and why) not only was he fine with pictures, he was actually EXCITED to have our wedding photos taken! Caroline was fun to be around and great to work with - she made both of us feel relaxed and at ease, and took pictures that truly reflect who we are as a couple. It also bears mentioning that she got in the ocean. In Half Moon Bay. In April. To take a series of shots that blew our minds. On the actual wedding day, Caroline and her husband Binh arrived at the venue even before I did, and were the second-to-last guests to leave. They both have such a fantastic eye for detail and special moments, helped keep me calm when a hair snafu put us way behind schedule, and were so much fun - our other guests can't stop raving about how great they are! The photos are so breathtakingly gorgeous that we're struggling to choose our favorites. But once we do, we plan to order canvas prints - these belong as works of art on a wall, not as snapshots in a book. One word of advice - if you want to book Caroline for your wedding, get on it immediately. The second you know your wedding date. She books up lightning fast and takes a limited number of clients per year (more evidence that she gives her full attention to every single couple she works with). read more

I had the pleasure of working with Caroline, She recently shot my engagement pictures and I couldn't say anything because I couldn't pick up my jaw from the floor. My fiance and I are incredibly happy the way that our photos turned out and we can definitely highly recommend Caroline with no reservations whatsoever. I have hired Caroline for my wedding this summer and I have no doubt in my mind that my photos will be nothing less than spectacular. Caroline is as good as it gets. A wonderful human being who makes taking pictures fun and enjoyable. She is professional and above all else takes her work seriously. During my engagement shoot, she picked me up promptly at 9:00 as scheduled and appeared in a professional manner. She is observant and has a great eye. In mid-Conversation as we got off the freeway as we just reached San Francisco, Caroline suddenly parks the Car and sees a place for our very first shot of the day. I honestly was impressed that she found an amazing place to shoot right away. I was impressed by the way she gave directions and how she eased my nerves in taking pictures in public! I was also impressed with her work ethic, she gets down and dirty. Like literally! Caroline will lay on the ground or will hop on to some ledge and will squeeze into any crevice to get the perfect shot. I cannot tell you the amount of work she did, climbing up flights of stairs, laying on the floor on top ledges, squeezing in tight places. She is amazing. You can tell how much love and passion she puts into her work, and if you are blind and cannot see it by her actions you will definitely see it in your photos. She is creative and encourages you to have fun while taking pictures, trust me I have a "that's what she said" photo LOL She honestly puts her customers first. After we got back from an 8 hr photo shoot, she sent me pictures within a couple of hours. Not only that, she spends time researching the locations and the style of photography that you want. She is definitely a wonder woman. She is quick to send and respond emails, and if you are a bride in need she has great recommendations to other vendors :) She is amazing, and I cannot wait for my wedding. This review is long overdue. I had my wedding in San Francisco on Sept 16, 2011 and Caroline did a great job with our photos. I called her about 4 weeks before my wedding and was so embarrassed that I waited so long to book a photographer but she made me feel very comfortable from our first phone call. I immediately loved her work on her website but continue to look for other photographers since she was the first I called. However I kept coming back to her website and clicking on her blog links to her previous work and became more convince that she was the best choice. Well she certainly was. She took the time to video chat (we had a destination wedding) with my now husband and I and learn about our personalities and find out what things we liked in photographs. My wedding photos were amazing! I have received so many compliments. She has a very unique way of framing a lot of the detail shots and I love the way she captured the light in our photos. My sister hired Sphynge Photography for her wedding and the results were amazing. The photographer was able to take pictures for all events during the day; from the bridal party getting ready with hair and makeup, my mom helping my sister into her wedding dress, the groom's party arriving, to the end of the wedding. She was able to capture pictures that told the story of the day and even took time to take detail shots of the bouquets, arrangements, wedding rings, shoes, makeup gear, etc. It was all there. Before the wedding she met with my sister and asked a lot of questions about which style of photos she wanted. My sister's kinda particular about that stuff - she wanted some of the Chinese formal poses but most of it she wanted American style, very modern. The photographer came with examples of the shots and then suggested a list of shots, "must haves". Honestly I didn't think it was possible to take that many photos in a day. The photographer was great at taking those in the moment shots so that things didn't look too faked and posed all the time. She was also great at giving direction for the more formal shots so that people were not confused and just wandering. She worked seamlessly through the Chinese banquet and got the shot. She was very patient and worked great with our nephews. Especially when one of them refused to leave the grooms side during picture time. That was adorable. The pictures came out looking great and the album was beautiful. My sister will have many memories to cherish from these photos for a long time. read more

Ok, so I suck but Caroline is amazing! Caroline and her husband were our Photographers for our Wedding on 3/1012. While on our hunt for a photographer we were interested in high quality art since in our opinion the only thing you really keep after your wedding is the photos from the day. We met with two photographers before meeting with Caroline and once we met her we decided pretty much right away that meeting to cancel our other seven appointments we had set up and secure Sphynge for our engagement and wedding photography. Caroline went above and beyond our expectations and she really got to know us well so that she knew what style we were looking for. Caroline's eye is artful, beautiful, and playful. Our engagement photos are amazing and we will cherish them forever, especially the ones we took with our beloved Husky. Caroline is so amazing, she took our engagement pictures yesterday around Stanford and had so much energy from beginning to end. She is extremely thorough and her passion for photography is evident in the way she takes pictures. She helped my fiance and I with wardrobe choices ahead of time and really asked us for our input throughout the entire process. She was really flexible in terms of where to shoot the pictures and gave really good direction. She spent about four hours taking our pictures at one location then we took her to the wedding venue to take some "before" pictures. I have to tell you, Caroline is not only good for weeding photos, but also really great for baby photos. It is a Saturday afternoon, Caroline and Binh came to my place to take photos for my 9 months old daughter. It takes more time and patient than I thought. They were all working with smiles, and tried to play with my daughter all the time. It is hard to get baby's attention but they do know how to do it and make her relax. Caroline is the absolute best! Binh is only second to her. They were our photographers for our wedding in Carmel. We also did an amazing engagement session with her. My husband and I are not naturally comfortable taking pictures. Caroline and Binh made us feel completely comfortable and it really showed in our pictures. Caroline spent hours with us discussing our style and what type of photos we liked. She took her artistic vision and captured us in the perfect style for us. Caroline is the perfect combination of artistic and organized. We interviewed and met with many photographers, and believe me, this is a very rare combination. One week before our baby was born, we had Caroline take pictures of our pregnancy. We took photos from our home, the local park, and she even took pictures of us during lunch to capture the ambiance of the restaurant for beautiful pictures of us that look like photos for a restaurant magazine review. I am a regular Flickr user and have seen many great professional shots, but Sphynge still tops all what I have seen. Caroline (the owner) did a photo shoot for my family at our house - we have an 18-mo son and 3 cats, and she did some of the best portrait shots I have ever gotten. We did shots both indoors and outdoors. The weather was gloomy and the house wasn't in the best shape for photo shoot, but she still managed to capture some amazing shots. Ordinary objects like the cover of a storybook or the top of a bar stool just somehow look magical in her shots. She was very skillful working with my son and the cats and we got a lot of nice shots of them. I was the MoH in my best friends wedding just last weekend and Caroline and her husband were hired as the photographers. Things didn't go necessarily as planned when it came to the wedding as a whole but when it came to the photography they were amazing! They went above and beyond the call of duty. Caroline was there for everything and even helped out with things not necessarily in her job description. She helped a lot and tried her best to know where everyone should be and when, which was amazing considering most of us had no idea what we were supposed to be doing as the wedding planner was a little less than informative. The pictures thus far have been absolutely fantastic and there are more yet to come, I absolutely can't wait to see them all because her work is truly top notch. She was even more than happy to play around with us bridesmaids when we asked if we could get some pictures of us having lightsaber wars with our bouquets before the ceremony started. My sister just had a wedding in Arizona, and to say that Caroline was spectacular is and understatement. She went above and beyond the call of duty. From bringing us coffees in the morning to reminding us to drink water in the Arizona heat. She is wonderful and professional, has an eye for poses and quirks and really knows how to make a girl (or guy) smile. Her energy is welcoming, inviting, comfortable, so you feel very much at ease being on the other side of her lens. At the reception, the only time I noticed her was when she'd set down the camera to come out on the dance floor with us.
