In all three of our events, Millicent displayed a strong passion and vision through her creativity and organizational and professional skills. For the most part, we provided her with our own ideas and locations. In areas where we needed suggestions, she was quick to provide and improvise. We provided a general schedule for our events to ensure we do not go overtime. Millicent was on top of the schedule and did not rush the process even when we went slightly overtime with the engagement photo shoot due to the gloomy, rainy weather and busy weekend traffic. In fact, she remain composed and was dedicated to taking the best shot at the best angle even if it meant she had to get drenched in the rain. Last but not least, Millicent was very punctual in responding to our e-mails. I was a pest and e-mailed her with multiple questions that included what is the most ideal time of the day to take pictures, logistics, number of locations, etc. Her responses were so detailed and to-the-point that it put me at ease, letting me know we put our pictures in the right person's hands.

Millie offered the most value and quality for the money by far, so she was the obvious choice. She and I talked over the phone to get the whole concept of what exactly we were going for. She took my ideas and helped guide me through my vision. It was a huge help, because I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for. The day that we were supposed to have our photoshoot, it looked like it was going to rain. Millie called me and offered to do it the next day and made it seem like it wasn't a big deal to reschedule. She didn't want our outdoor photoshoot to be ruined by the rain. I wanted to take pictures in front of various Chicago landmarks, and name each of the tables at our reception after these locations. Eg: Millennium Park, Michigan Avenue, Soldier Field, Chicago Theater, etc. Take a look at some of the pictures I've added to the Yelp page. I think her work speaks for itself! I told her we were in a bit of a time crunch because we wanted to use the pictures for the table cards and we also wound up using one of the pictures for the placecards/favors as well as our photo guestbook. There were countless other photographers I had looked at in the area, that all had subpar quality, forced poses, and all-out disappointing portfolios (and the vast majority were much more expensive). Even before the shoot, Emily was a dream to work with. She was great at providing reminders, suggestions, and recommendations for preparation, that really helped everything come together on the day of the session. As far as the session itself, Emily went out of her way to make everything completely seamless - from the hair and makeup to the actual shoot, it was a fun, laidback environment. She was flexible with me on some of the outfits I had trouble deciding between, and ended up allowing me to sneak a few looks in. At no point did I feel uncomfortable or awkward, which was unexpected given I am usually on the other end of the camera when it comes to photography. Historically, posing and serious facial expressions were something I had always struggled with while being photographed, but Emily does an amazing job at guiding you to capture the perfect shot. I was in awe of her passion, and that passion truly translated to the shoot and the end product. All-around it was an amazing, worthwhile experience, and I am beyond happy with the outcome. We ultimately were able to get married in a small ceremony at Starved Rock State Park in IL, and Emma went above and beyond and drove out there a few weeks before the wedding to scout out some beautiful spots for photos.  During our wedding day, we had photography services with Emma and videography services with her colleague Carlos. Their team helped us feel excited and confident throughout the whole wedding day. Emma's positivity and energy helped us have SO much fun during our photo sessions. Carlos was able to creatively capture video from the full day and we were so impressed by the sound and visual quality of the videos. Emma captured the colors, joy and essence of the day in her photos. Looking back at the photos and videos brings us and our families so much joy. Yazy takes gorgeous photos!!! If you want a photographer who captures people beautifully, then you have to hire Yazy. She will be very clear with you from the start that she does not take photos of scenery - you will not get a bunch of photos where the background is the focus. But she finds the perfect spots to capture the subjects of her photos in the most beautiful way - through lighting and contrasting color.
