BEWARE! COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY! Lys Galati and her team at Sphinx PR are dinosaurs, the last of a dying breed of PR companies who are completely clueless to the internet and will waste all your time and money and get no quantifiable results. I hope to spare future customers this pain. I let Lys know upfront the specific outlets I needed to get coverage on and she assured me she had personal contacts at the outlets and "getting coverage should be no problem". But alas no coverage. We also let Lys know that "quantifiable results" was our chief priority in hiring a PR company- Lys constantly sent email updates about "who opened her emails" because she counts that as "a quantifiable result". I do not. Lys would get the press release reposted to tiny blogs that resulted in 0 traffic, but she thought it was impressive. Lys secured a review on a YouTube channel with 30 subscribers (the review got 20 views) and she sent us the link very proud of her accomplishments! One of her biggest accomplishments was securing us coverage on a blog that has 2500 twitter followers. That is nothing when it comes to leading to actual views. I have 8k followers on my own twitter - it is silly for to pay someone who can only get posts on social media accounts so small.
Lastly, we had to pay another PR company to actually get us coverage and I started personally messaging journalists (I let Lys know so she would not take credit for our work) - and even though she hadn't even contacted some of these outlets, she lied and took credit for our work & I have paper trails to prove she lied about it.
On top of all the trouble we had with her after our product launched, in pre launch we had to rewrite the press release for her because of incompetent grammar issues plus she never paid attention when we told her about our product so she was clueless when it came time to promote it and wrote wrong information. Lys even ruined the opportunity for one of the main outlets we wanted coverage on, because we told her our project was being released as a film because (& that was more enticing to journalists) but she wrote a major outlet saying our film was a web series & the journalist denied coverage because they only cover films (not series). Constant blunders and disorganization caused me to spend a considerable amount of time fixing her mistakes and having to start messaging outlets on my own.
I requested a refund multiple times but was denied because I finally had to send the request through PayPal & it "inconvenienced them" so my penance was "no refund". Lys's excuses for why she couldn't secure coverage were both constant and unviable. The other company we hired was able to instantly secure coverage and we were also able to by messaging journalists. Additionally in case you might be thinking we just had a bad project, we netted 2 Million views online organically in less than a week by the quality and merit alone! We handed Lys a home run project and she botched it. None of her work resulted in quantifiable results and I know this because I can see on YouTube all of my traffic sources.
Now I am out of money and my project missed the window to go even more viral. read more
