I organized a pickleball game for my date and I made a reservation for Saturday at 5-6 pm. I didn't opt for specific court reservation which is additional cost. We arrived few mins before our time and we got checked in. This place has so much stuff in addition to pickleball courts. They got nice bar and decent drinks. For the pickleball courts - I really liked the technology inclusion such as game replays, scoring and big screen showing the time. However, I felt the courts were quite close to each other - I understand space is constrained. But have courts separate for beginners would help in not disturbing neighboring players. read more

Big fan of SPF. The people are great and the facility is great. The prices are reasonable. The courts are nice. There is plenty of parking. Food options are good and they have fresh coffee drinks. I had a party here and rented courts. It was easy to book and a good value IMO. My only complaint is that the front 4 courts have a terrible glare from the outside and it makes seeing the ball very difficult. It would be helpful if ownership would put better lighting in those courts (specifically the ones on the east side, and it would also be helpful if they would tint or blackout the windows. Currently when you play on that court you have to switch sides mid game otherwise the team facing away from the windows has a huge advantage. Ownership, if you want 5 stars, please fix that. Always have a fun time playing here. The bars at the front and back, popcorn machine, and games and TVs also add to the fun since you can grab a drink or just hang out after you're done playing. The courts are well maintained and clean, with the exception of the ones that are inside their own rooms. Those ones are a little older and different but I guess the only advantage is it's like you get a more private court. They have screens and touchpad that can keep score but no one really uses them since it was a bit complicated and also cuts into play time. The replay system is pretty cool; and then the replays you want to save are sent to your email. The free play for a couple hours is a decent price (about $20) but if you wanna book your own court it can get pricey at $60/hour. Free parking is also nice. Great place to go during the winter / rainy days when the local outdoor courts aren't available. read more

I've been going to SPF regularly since it opened 18 months ago. I consider it the gold standard for indoor pickleball and for corporate events in Chicago -- in fact, our law firm's employees consistently rank SPF #1 among all social gatherings we have in Chicago. Great indoor space to play pickle ball! Our coach Jeff was amazing! I definitely recommend him for private lessons. My friend booked it for her birthday. The only issue was had was transitioning from our private room to another court as we had to wait to see where they were going to place us and then we had to wait for people to move off the court so that cut into our playtime however one of the managers or workers did come up to us and apologise for that inconvenience so everything was fine. Great sports complex. Biggest thing they are know for is their pickle ball. We go for the bags, but they also have air hockey, board games and shuffleboard! They just finished making the beer wall that's self serve! The staff are friendly and there is a large parking lot. Only thing keeping it from a 5 star is the food menu is very small. Visiting for a work trip. Wow this place was awesome! I haven't seen somewhere combine the social atmosphere, food, music, drinks, lots of different areas to lounge around or watch the pickleball play. The courts looked like they were brand new and had the same material as outside courts. Danny really went out of his way to show us around and make us feel welcome. Expensive food and drinks but you're not really here for that! The food menu is also extremely limited, but the quality is good. They have your standard bar selection of alcoholic beverages as well (our 2 beers cost us over $20 though). The facility itself is nice, with plenty of pickleball courts and an area for cornhole. They're also installing a beer tap wall so you can self pour beers. We'll definitely keep coming back for our sports league. read more

Highly recommend SPF for your event or production! I booked a couple of courts for a full day photo shoot, and it was the perfect location. The courts are well-kept, there was plenty of room for staging our equipment, the staff was lovely and easy to work with, and the food they provided was delicious (seriously everyone raved over the pastries). Went to the Superbowl pickleball party. No drinks, food was thankfully tiny as it was terrible. No one monitors the courts so you get to feel like your in high school again and the popular kids are in charge. Got to play only a small section of the attendees. Only played once an hour. I had my membership when they offered it before they were even open for business. I was involved in a very unfortunate situation this November during open play. A co worker of mine was playing in a one day tournament and since we were short players, I asked him did he want warm up with us for one game which I shouldn't have done, but I seen it done before. Another member was upset by it and proceeded to call me a "fucking liar" which I didn't appreciate one bit. I asked her to apologize which she refused and we both were pretty upset. But here's where things really went sideways ‼a white male member started yelling at me to be removed because I had on a t shirt with a picture of Muhammad Ali ‼ His exact words were get out of here with your black Muhammad Ali shirt on. Management was notified of the situation by myself and a member that was involved. She admitted that she started the incident by calling me a "fucking liar". I went to apologize to squash the situation, but she said she wouldn't. I was asked to leave but not the two white members who were also involved in the situation. When I was in the parking lot the male member comes out as I was leaving. When he saw me he broke out running. The next day the co owner called me and we discussed what happened and he informed me that the woman admitted she started using foul language and asked did I want to speak with everyone that was involved to clear the air which I said no need I'm done with it let's move forward and he agreed. Rich the co owner and I had a very friendly relationship from my point of view but the very next day he calls me and informed me that she was bringing her dad to the club and I should give both of them space. He and the vice president of operations both sent emails informing me that my membership would be terminated if this was to happen again ‼now take it they selected me member of the month just a few months prior and I've always had a good relationship with staff and players up until that day. When I informed them that I would be ending my membership they both asked me not to in a email and a phone call. This is part of the email I received " We ask that you not seek out or talk to either of the players involved in the incident if they are at the Club at the same time. They both have asked for space, and if you see them at the Club, please do not speak to them or approach them. We need you to respect this request. Any violation of this request will lead to an immediate termination of membership and removal from the Club. Now while I take full responsibility for my actions but I must say that the club from my standpoint let two Caucasian members kick off something that shouldn't have happen, and I feel as they only targeted me the black male versus the two white people that were also involved. In closing at the end of the day I felt this situation became racially motivated, and I was treated unfairly. As I result of this, I have terminated my membership with them and would not recommend them to anyone else. read more

SPF is an incredible addition to the Pickleball community! I highly recommend for the experienced as well as beginning players. They truly offer everything one could ask for - clinics, open play, court rentals, private lessons (from the fabulous Toss and Spin, I see you Jason!) as well as events and much more. This is all while you are surrounded by a bright, vibrant, joyful setting! The staff is welcoming, warm and helpful - shout out to management (Devin, Mel, Carly), wonderful owners Rich and David and the front desk team (Gio, Tanner, Ty, Damian, and Jarod to name a few.) Zach runs tournaments with ease and is always helpful and understanding. As the club is new, I find staff very open to feedback and change as it grows. Just started playing pickelball 4 weeks ago and have done a clinic a bunch of open play. They just opened the facilities before my first class and things were a little messed up.
