However, I also had one blazer that I purchased at an online tailor company that came out very wonky in the shoulders. Thane was able to perform surgery on it and perfectly fix the issues. He got everything done on a tight timeframe too, and put in extra work to get it all exact. Beyond that, he was a pleasure to chat with and very professional. The whole project came to a little over $1000, which I think was reasonable given the quantity and quality of work done. I especially don't think anyone else could have fixed the shoulders on that one blazer, so it effectively saved me the value of losing out on an entire suit jacket.

I headed straight to the clearance racks initially which are usually a total mess. Not only are they super clean and organized at the store, but they had sizes up to 5x and they were all in the correct spots. When was the last time it took you less than 5 minutes to go through the entire clearance rack? I couldn't believe it. I tried on half a dozen items and left with an outfit for under $20 in less than 45 minutes. I don't know about anyone else got ta but that is my ideal shopping experience! Oh! My concerns and comments were listened to and my wants were accommodated. Bruce, the owner of the store, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He made excellent recommendations and made me feel very confident in my choice and preferences. The manager was a creepy person who smoked cigars and made uncomfortable awkward comments in the parking lot. At one point he told me I should go home with him to learn some manners. I think this was because I wasn't able to tie a tie or I wanted the pant legs longer, something trivial. Regardless, not appropriate. Writing this review 3 years later should be an indicator about how strongly and certain I feel about this establishment. Perhaps the CEO should rethink his anti-background checking policy. I looked online for a hair-cutting place that did both men and women (I am a woman). I didn't want a fancy-looking salon. Narrative has a lovely, old-fashioned look and feel. Their web site said their prices were $40, $45, or $50.00. MUCH too expensive, but I realized I was paying for ambience. My barber was Michael Clark. (One got whoever was free when you arrived.) I showed him 2 sets of drawings of the cut I wanted (front and profiles, the difference between the 2 sets being where I wanted the main curve to be: a little higher or a little lower. To begin with the outcome: The drawings clearly showed that the hair should be even with my chin. It ended up, in fact, 2 inches too short...... just below my ears. The cutting experience was very weird. On 4 occasions, he grabbed the hair at the very top of my head and repeatedly pulled it up and down, as if he were washing something on a scrub board. I don't know what on earth that was about. The way he was separating strands and cutting was quite baffling to me. There seemed to be no organization to it. Unfortunately, I was unaware of how short it was getting. I was focusing on it covering my ears. At the end, it didn't even fall nicely and I had to do some repairs when I went home. Unfortunately it was too short to do all the repairs it needed. He had paid no attention to my drawings or instructions. I knew what the price was before I sat down in the chair. This is embarrassing. I paid $70.00 for this cut.
