As someone who transferred out, I have had objects thrown at my head, and almost everyday I heard students saying slurs they cannot reclaim and making racially charged comments towards other students. Mind you, staff members knew about all of this, or was in close proximity to these events happening, and no one did anything about it. Personally, I think it would have been nice to actually learn Math in Math class during my Sophomore year instead of having a kid in my ear try to start sensitive political debates with me everyday. Again, both teachers in that class knew, yet did nothing to step in. The students are terrible, and administration is horrible - the only appeal this school has is having clean bathrooms. Save yourself ~$20k and avoid this hellhole at all costs.

I am an adult who is 40 years old. I know right from wrong. Principal Tennison might have shook every Lane students hands while he was in office, he neglected their needs as far as stress goes. There was no relief, no therapist offered whatsoever. Brian Tennison did not care. Plus, he took away all the parents privileges to volunteer at their Prom. I was devastated at that time. Even though, my youngest daughter was unhappy about me not going to her prom. I would have been very happy without dancing and prom dinner. I rather be in the same ballroom with both my daughters' prom instead of dinner and dancing. We survived without it. I do not know who changed the prom volunteer policy. The security guard, William, is consistently rude and creates problems with students for no valid reason. Pauly Edith is especially unprofessional--she mocks students and frequently disrespects them. This school claims to prioritize mental health, yet when students actually need support, it is rarely provided. Students' feelings are constantly dismissed and pushed aside. Von Steuben needs to do better.
