I am an adult who is 40 years old. I know right from wrong. Principal Tennison might have shook every Lane students hands while he was in office, he neglected their needs as far as stress goes. There was no relief, no therapist offered whatsoever. Brian Tennison did not care. Plus, he took away all the parents privileges to volunteer at their Prom. I was devastated at that time. Even though, my youngest daughter was unhappy about me not going to her prom. I would have been very happy without dancing and prom dinner. I rather be in the same ballroom with both my daughters' prom instead of dinner and dancing. We survived without it. I do not know who changed the prom volunteer policy. Hence I am very sad at Brian Tennison. Dr. Christopher Dignam was a very very excellent principal. Dr. Dignam allowed parents to participate as prom volunteers. You rock Dr. Christopher Dignam!!!!!! Personally, I think it would have been nice to actually learn Math in Math class during my Sophomore year instead of having a kid in my ear try to start sensitive political debates with me everyday. Again, both teachers in that class knew, yet did nothing to step in. The students are terrible, and administration is horrible - the only appeal this school has is having clean bathrooms. The new principle didn't believe that she was feeling sick and made her cry. He gave no heart into her feelings. So was the new vice principle she was just a tad bit nicer. The principle doesn't care about what the kids need. They spend money on a new teachers lounge and catering food for the staff. In the bathrooms the kids need soap, paper towel, toilet paper, and Kleenex. The parents have to provide the items for the children. But the staff get paper towel refills 24/7. The school wastes their money on the dumbest things. The kids don't even have a real jump rope, they have to use broken extension cords tied together. I've seen much better at other schools. We hopefully will be transfering schools.

The class sizes are small, there are currently 14 students in her 1st grade class. They, meaning the faculty, staff and administration treat the children like family. There are several parent groups to join to help the school too, these include a strong LSC, a PAC (Parent Advisory Committee), and Friends of Jahn (the fundraising arm of the school). They offer Spanish at all grade levels, art, music, and have their own gym, lunch room and auditorium. The new administration, principal M. Herring and assistant principal G. Gonzalez are ALWAYS there, literally they never go home! I love the HUSKIES and if you are looking for a great school for your child I suggest you check it out!
