This cemetery sits on an acre or so of the land tucked away from the main road about 10 miles south of Elgin. It sits surrounded by the quiet countryside on all sides with one or two residences nearby. This is still an active graveyard that has been well taken care of with lots of nice manicured oak trees. Many of these old headstones appear to have been cleaned and repaired. The headstones are well laid out and feature quite a number of family plots. There are quite a few headstones from the late 1800s but there are some very recent burials as well. There are numerous service members laid to rest here including a confederate veteran. There is a mailbox just inside the gate which has a full listing of who is buried where as well as some additional information. If you were thinking of making this your forever home, there's still enough space for about 30 to 50 graves. If you desire the contact information, you can find it in one of the photos included in this review. read more
