What's going on with them charging 4% for using a debit card? It's illegal. In the U.S., it is generally illegal for a merchant to add a surcharge (an extra fee) directly to a debit card purchase. This is prohibited by federal law (the Durbin Amendment) and major card networks like Visa and Mastercard.When it is IllegalDebit Card Surcharges: Charging a specific fee just for using a debit card, even if the cashier runs it as a credit transaction.Minimum Purchases: Merchants are not legally allowed to set a minimum spending amount (e.g., a $10 minimum) for debit card purchases.Cash Discounting Misuse: A business cannot charge a fee for debit cards while disguising it as a "credit card fee." The stand out sandwich, for me, was Nonna's veggie sandwich! It was so delicious with the breaded eggplant, sharp provolone, broccoli rabe and the winning layer of roasted pepper on top! Along with the sandwiches, I was given some small squeeze bottles of oil and vinegar, and a bowl of various peppers and onions for my guests to flavor their sandwiches to their liking. I highly recommend this business for your catering needs!
